  1. My kid is wearing shorts most of the time.. I think he secretly wants to be a postman 🤣
  2. The hip flare takes some time to settle down/adjusting to. I thought it was too exaggerated when I first started wearing them.. but I’d worn SC-47s for years previously and LVC-47 prior to this so I had a firm idea in my mind how a 47 cut should fit and it wasn’t quite this ..in the last decade as I’ve grown to favour a looser fit and more post-war Levi’s photos hit the interwebz this looser hip started to seem much less of a flight of fancy.. it’s been my ideal silhouette ever since. I’ve chased this fit, buying numerous pairs of 46s but it was there all along in the FW-47s
  3. Making the most of every last second of british summer time.. Vintage RB Caribbean Nobbly Bobbly Butter FW-47s Chucks
  4. Pulled on my old FW-47s this morning.. holy crap i’d forgotten what a great pair of jeans these are! I’m a bit out of touch with the brand.. has the cut changed at all (even minutely) since 2012? are they released seasonally or restocked regularly? do they still come raw and o/w? On our quest for the perfect pair of jeans.. battling market forces trying to convince us the 41s, 42s, 43, 44.. and so in will be the pair for us, it’s easy to forget those golden cuts already exist.. (from the perspective of someone who wore the same SC-47s for 10yrs straight of course) 😁
  5. That was a great read.. well done for putting the effort in @cultpop 0217 Von Dutch was a brand which completely passed me by, i remember the trucker caps, Hip in Leeds used to be full of the damn things.. they were like £50 or something, an insane amount of £££s for a cap in that era.. i didn't even know he was a nazi until i heard it on 'behind the bastards' podcast a few years ago.
  6. RMC, Dapper's Indigo Dot, Gildan, Junky, Butter Goods, Toys McCoy
  7. The bike on the right.. judging by the klampers.. it that the frame you fillet brazed? The last time i saw it.. it was in the raw and you was trying to decide on a frame colour Can we see it?
  8. I've just dug out this old fit pic of those 003s on the day i bought them back in 2013 before they were hemmed
  9. Frosty this morning Stussy Micro Down JMC Sweat Gildan Tee Devis Stussy One Star My mum ran the torn sleeve through her sewing machine 😎
  10. What's the expected salary of a denim forum supermod these days.. £50k pa? It'll come in handy for B who's just got married.. b_F can reduce his hours at the orange juice factory and Maynard can stop telling people that he has to work really hard when in reality it's quite the oposite..
  11. They've been falling apart since the day i bought them vlad.. within months the back pocket thread disintegrated and the pockets started flapping around.. i stitched them back on, my stitching goes from here to here.. notice the unworn blue denim where i haven't quite matched them up ..when you compare it to this image.. you can see that my stitching and the bartack is the only thing holding the pocket on.. this is just cheap cotton from our sewing box but it holds up a lot better than McCoys thread. .. even areas of zero stress became detached ..i got tired of the constant repairs so i bagged them off and chucked them on the pile.. a few months ago the SC M41030 i was wearing to work fell to pieces (after many years of good service) so i spent hours patching those 003s and started wearing them for work.. i'll keep repairing the stiching for as long as i can be bothered then i'll bin them and wear something else... i don't think i'll wash them again.. with a bit of luck they'll last till x-mas.
  12. Same.. for as long as i can remember, when the post count takes us to the next page, my clicks always take me to the previous page until the post count on the new page adds up to let's say 6 or more posts then my clicks will take me to the current page.. it's a minor inconvenience.
  13. I had a bit of good fortune last week.. i've been looking to re-stock my wood shed but like everything else in this cost of living crisis.. the price of seasoned hardwood logs has gone f'kin nuts, the company i used last time have ceased trading. I've managed to eke out 1 cubic meters of oak and 1 cubic meter of silver birch for 3yrs by mixing it 50/50 with the softwood off-cuts i get for nowt from work ..anywho, i was riding home last week and i passed some tree surgeons who'd piled up some logs on the pavement and carved 'Free' & 'Logs' into them with the end of the chainsaw so i rode home, fetched the car and filled it up with logs ..took them to work and quartered them on the bandsaw ..probably got 100 n'odd quids worth of logs for nowt.. albeit, they're green so i'll have to season them for 12 mths It's nice having the woodburner blazing but without the free wood from work it's a bit of a false economy.. it's much cheaper to put the central heating on.
  14. ..a little 003 update low res crappy old phone shots tho ..cor, grimey ..they were coated in clay and soil from the garden, i gave them a 40°C wash which still left them with brown streaks so i gave them another 60°C wash to 'clean' them which has improved the patch ..being McCoy's i can hear stitches popping eveytime i sit down or bend over to pick something up.. ..the only thing holding the pockets on is the repairs i did when they were a few months old.. RMC stitching has long since disintegrated ..hems
  15. There was nobody to wake me.. my missus would have been in bed and it was the school hols when my kid spent many a'night stopping over at friends houses Where is @Flash these days?.. he's not become an instagram lifestyle grifter has he
  16. The McCoy's might be more interesting.. or the parts which are still held together by stitching I'll photograph them before i go home.
  17. ^^^Pitiful.. pitiful excuses.. just pitiful! I started excavating the garden wearing jeans and soon realised that workwear is fucking shite for working outdoors.. Wow, that was a revelation!.. give me a pair of rip-stop shorts any day of the week... my back has been ruined lugging big pieces of york stone, oak sleepers, bags of sand and cement ect.. to our house from the road, even after the ibuprofen has kicked in.. i haven't even been able to bend down and pull a pair of jeans on so i've been sleeping in socks for days on end.. so i don't have to take them off/on.. getting up in the morning, holding some shorts open with one hand, lifting my leg into the leg opening with the other.. driving to work (laces still untied) because i've needed the car for tools and such.. working in my gardening shorts.. having some breakfast.. driving back home when it's light..working on the garden till 2pm.. driving back to work.. working till 6pm.. driving home and working on the garden till it goes dark.. some nights i've been that exhauseted, i've fallen asleep on the grass and woken up at 2am shivering.. shorts off, leave them at the side of the back door covered in mud.. limp off to bed, often without a shower.. get up the next day.. rinse/repeat.. I started wearing the McCoy's for work again last month when i had to bin my garden shorts and ditched the car in favour of the bike but i haven't worn a pair of jeans at home since April.. i've been wearing those baggy blue chinos for the much needed slouchy comfort.. This weekend, i'll be back in the Devis tho!
  18. I think Gee was secretly envious of his snakeskin camo print bootcuts and purple pixie boots
  19. What’s happened to the old place?.. have y’all had an argument and nobody’s talking to each other? I took the summer off, away from the interwebz to concentrate on my garden renovation.. now it’s like shouting into the void.. even the influencers have bailed.. Maybe we need a slogan? ‘Make Sufu Great Again’ .. well maybe not that one but c’mon.. let’s give the joint a coat of paint!
  20. Who’evs does it.. Beef up you password.. don’t use mine ‘denim123’ One of the bike forums I contribute to has quite a few folks with mod powers.. one of them had his account hacked recently and they just started tearing down threads.. by the time the supermods were alerted most of the stickies page has gone plus much more besides... threads with 1000s of pages dating back 15yrs had been deleted.
