@dudewuttheheckHalf soles get scrapped up when riding motorcycles, etc.  That was the contemplation when I built my Wescos but ended up going for something I can walk in with a flex in the sole.  Ever since I saw Yusuke from Canvas wearing them, I've been hooked though.

@tod - haven’t got ‘round to posting them (or the Pecos, RMC N1 and RDT Conquers)  up in classifieds but they’re ready to go any time on the asking. These are a size 8.5

Dang, too small for me. I remember when they first offered these, right at the launch of the new website. Wish I had got them then.  GLWS.

These look very cool. I've never seen a pair with any wear on them.  How do you like the fit and feel? I've always kinda wondered how that straight-up tight lacing area would work..

Can't say as never had any dealings with them but are S&S the new snake oil provisions?

Not sure what it would mean to be the new snake oil provisions ( I know of the store but never dealt with them),  I can say I’ve dealt with S and S and they seem like good folks.  Forthcoming with information to my questions, and they took a return with no problem .

  5. The Lofgren boot is natural (undyed) cordovan.  It looks horrible at first, but will indeed darken up quickly and look pretty cool in no time.  Not that I'd buy it -- certainly not at that price -- but it's not white and will not look like that for long.

The Truman waxed flesh look great. A chunkier toe than I would have expected.

  7. ^^ Two things about resoling;  1. It's usually not cheap. I think Baker's is $170, plus shipping each way, so probably well over $200 total.  So, it's not a bad time to think about getting a new pair of boots if you have any other reasons for doing so.  2. Resoled boots do not always come back the way you want them to!  (I know from experience.)

  8. ^^ With regard to the RDT Coupen boots, I have to admit that I have been slightly disappointed in the build quality of my pair.  The stitching on the vamp began to come apart fairly quickly (say a year or so of wear), and now the glued in heel pad inside one of the boots has some undone.  The latter is a small thing and probably easy to re-glue, though I have not done it yet. But the former is a bit more serious. Anyway, I still like them, and love the way they look; but I've sort filed them under "high end disappointments."

Oops sorry I meant to say “I’ve always wanted Black* Iron Rangers” my bad but good to know that I can look for the brown ones on sale now

They make black in EE now too, on the Res Wing site. Though their EE is not in fact very wide.

I’m referring to these besties with the standard last!  Every once and awhile I’ll see this style being worn by Japanese bikers on Instagram.  As I owner of a standard last SJ, I can attest that they took a while to break in for me at least.

Ah yes, those definitely do not look easy to break in!

He basically has the northwest last that you can make in another leather besides chrome excel.

However, I feel this boot is the only thing right now that’s helping White’s have a impact in the Japanese market right now.  Wish they would have more collabs like Wesco.  And Wesco is dominating the Japanese biker scene with the boss and job master.  I barely see the smokejumpers from White’s being used when riding because they are a pain to break in.

I’ve been toying with getting another Smokejumper or Boss though.

I find my Smokejumpers/Bounty Hunters perfect for riding.  Had no break in problems whatsoever.  And I have to say I much prefer having a heel on a bike, rather than the flat Vibram.

Here they are on the mean streets of Wash DC..
