With the same collection as the last 4 years...
But hell, it's still fucking cool! Everybody wants that sweater, and cool that it finally seems to get into production.
Although last time they even did the wholesale trough a special portal from the-glade and you could place orders and after that...dead silence.

I must agree with aso2004.
By the looks of it the collection is nice and all but no how we remember ACG.
Actually when you look at it the first time all that it screams to me really hard is ''iteration X of Nike TechPack/Pinnacle/NSW!" and not ACG. There are a few nifty features but the overall stylishness of the collection gives it more of a techpack/pinnacle/nsw feel then ACG which was much more outdoorsy.
The cut of the garments, the features, it all screams acronym but still looks like Nike. So the job is very well executed just not a revival of ACG. It's a focus-move from outdoor to urban under the ACG name in my opinion. (and in the story it says that they wanted that focus-move, so hey they did a perfect job. Just don't call it a revival of the old ACG)

OK yes, the ACG X ACRNM thingie is a bit on the unexpected side but not totally right?
If we look back we off course see the sample Nike X ACRNM blacked-out dunk which was given (as the story goes) in return for a special made small size of the ACRNM College jacket for a female Nike Employee.
Errolson frequently visits Nike expo's/events/etc. and/or Nike employees are in his close proximity during other events according to twitter mentions, photo's etc.
His tweet about meeting up/collaborating with a ''zillion dollar company''...
Johanna designed for NikeLab WMNS not too long ago....
So it wasn't: if? it was: when?
(all in retrospect off course, because that is easy )

+rep for Sypron.
It is good to vent criticism. It can only make the brand better.
I agree with most of the things you say, and the way I see it there could be one simple solution for all of this.
Acronym should let go of the seasons and just produce all year round.
That way they do not have the pressure of making entire collections where each collection needs to top the last one!
They can just release garments when they are ready, the one month it could be one jacket and 3 months later 2 pants plus a sweater. It doesn't matter as long as they deliver fully thought out garments. This way they can take as much time as they need and don't have the pressure to come up with feature X before season Y starts production. In my opinion this would lead to better garments, maybe less but that's not a bad thing.

My J43-GT is in, bought it as a replacement for my J20-GT.
Three noticeable things that set it apart are:
- The gore-tex label on the sleeve, never seen this before on a ACRNM garment and I find it a rather odd placement...
- The snap button on the bottom and two at the top, I always missed this and it would cause my J20 collar to sag a bit on the top instead of staying nice and upright as in the promo images.
- They have used the green shockcord cords for the zipper, I always adjusted my jackets by putting those on the zipper myself. Usually promo images would show the cords but production versions would use other zipper attachments.
Furthermore, the two side pockets make use of the 3mm WR zipper. These are a way more flimsy then the 5mm and I'm not sure how long they will hold before something goes wrong....
The internal pockets use the same 3mm WR zippers. They are just a bit to small for comfortable handling.
The fit is spot-on, a bit short but not problematic. I bought a size S because I don't layer-up that much anyway, the sleeves on the M would have been too long + I like a more fitted jacket. The lack of gravity pockets is strange...this jacket screams for them.
Overall a good replacement for my J20 (which I will put on sale soon for anyone interested)

That is indeed a separate strap to hold the jacket from flying everywhere when you catch some wind.
A feature that they can implement in any jacket if it was up to me, I usually walk with my jackets unzipped as I don't get cold easily (so only wear jackets against rain) and with living next to sea....you start wondering why nobody else came up with that idea earlier.

It started smaller but then I was like..."ah well, there's a hole now anyway'' so I continued abusing it and it recently teared up to this haha.
Nothing a needle and some string can't fix, let's call it war scars
The only time it annoys me is when it starts raining :') But then again, it isn't the most waterproof bag anyway.
My much older 3A-1 which was made out of Cordura entirely still looks like new, no patina, no marks etc. after 5+ years.

This is what carrying around a 15" MBP (retina) daily did to my 3A-1 after almost 2 / 2.5 years.
It's an inch to big, so it's putting stress on the corner which causes the fabric top rip eventually.

Michaela is Brooklyn-bound, German born.
She is the other half of the original Acronym Design Agency and there are some images floating around from the Relax Magazine interview and a quick cameo in an ACRNM movie a few seasons back.
Very nice, very cool and very behind the scenes
There are a lot more behind the scenes people like Kofler and Chaudhary.
