  1. I'm not in sydney at the moment and that sounds kinda corny

As far as stores go, gotta say, Melbourne is far better. Pieces are cunts, don't go there - they won't let you in if you aren't chinese and don't look rich and tasteless. Harrolds stocks Rick and CdGH+, there's nowhere that stocks Yohji in Sydney afaik, Supply might still stock Comme des Garcons Homme (Junya's line) and Junya Watanabe Man. The PAM store is also worth going to. Incu isn't great, but since it's in the same building as Muji and Kinokuniya, if you're there, it's worth having a little look

  2. do u live in syd ^ ?

anything good to do Friday night?

    bless

    Yeah i do

    This could be fun

There's also a neat bar in Darlinghurst called the Local Taphouse that has a like 20+ taps and a great rotating selection of international and domestic beers, worth stopping by for a drink with friends

Or you could head out to the Hills and try and score shrooms

Looks like Old Boy is the film being screened tomorrow, 2pm and 7:15pm showings

  3. so how's shopping in BKK? Any luck with brands like our legacy, ervell, norse etc?

American Rag has dropped Our Legacy, so don't know if there's anywhere that stocks it now Same with Ervell. There's a nice store off soi 63 called Onion that stocks Norse Projects and some other neat labels (Battenwear, National Athletic Goods, Velva Sheen, Shoes Like Pottery/Doek) that's worth visiting

These are p. nice, japanese label called Doek, apparently made in the same factory, or at least region, as Shoes like Pottery. Would love to grab a pair

Ended up buying these today. They fit true, albeit a bit narrow. Great shoes, there's a lot of colour variation in the undyed canvas, which is neat, and they're extremely comfortable so far -  cork insole is a nice touch

  5. NAB locked my account until I reset my password, but I can't reset it without a telephone banking password, and since I'm overseas, I can't access my account until I get back to Australia. Fucking ridiculous

  6. First just seems like it was some attempt at record art (by the band?), you can find it in colour and b&w on the band's website so I know it is a longshot but maybe they kept the negative and prints are on sale somewhere.

The second seems to come from a series that is obviously extremely amateurish but I dunno, even though there's some shit in the frame, it has some sharper quality that makes it look sorta fake DIY pro, probably random luck though I mean look at this:

Yeah I have the black metal book, thinking about the Houston rap one...

I actually think a lot of them were shot on disposable cameras (e.g Euronymous' shooting Dead's suicide), but best of luck finding someone with the original negatives

I'm sure Houston Rap would be worth it, I have another book from Sinecure, the one about American private-press records, and it's pretty great - the exhibition catalogues from Kugelberg's solo imprint, Boo Hooray look great as well, and they're on Jack Smith, Crass and Angus Maclise!

  7. It's kind of funny since the Soichi Terada "Sounds from the Far East" comp that came out recently is one of the most talked-about records of the year, odd to think he might be more popular with european DJs than in Japan

But yeah, the ticket pricing is pretty reasonable, is the Liquid Room still a good club?

  8. As far as I know, second-wave black metal stuff didn't really have any Edward Colver or BJ Papas figures, it was really just friends taking the pictures who never really amounted to anything

That Peter Beste photobook is neat tho, I want to grab his new one on Houston Rap that comes with the DJ Screw record

  9. a store in syd miraculously got some jester king stuff - bought a bottle of ambrée, which was probably the best beer i've had to date. i'd love to see more of their stuff get distributed here, or the french/belgian saisons they reference
