How are these coming along @vIGGiou riou?

I know you're in your 220a's all the time at the moment but I just picked up a pair of these 1000XX 25th Anniversary DSB as Hinoya had another restock, so I was interested in how they looked now.

Can I just check on your thigh measurement above also, is that Hinoya style (10cm from crotch seam) or right up at the top??

Hi Alec. Sorry for late response. I measure thigh just up at the top in crotch. They look same, without visible fading. I wore them last year only 50 x...

  3. Ok. I take note of that. Waist shouldn't be a problem it has around 89 cm and usually it's going back to origin. And I think 5 cm of hemming off would be sufficient. Inseam is really very long 90,5 cm...

Did you buy the last W34 he had? I know it says sanforized but I doubt it is. Naoki said he wore this pair twice already and if he says its unsanforized, it definitely is.

Because of this I only cold soaked my pair as I am quite fat ATM. Gonna wash later when I lost some weight again.

Yeah, I bought last pair of them in size W34. Also Noaki wrote that denim doesn't shrink too much, but is not sanforized. Any way I plan to wear them next year, but would like to know how much cm's to let them hem.

Did you register some changes after cold soak ?

  5. Maybe could be a reason I washed them together with FC western shirt. But it's OW and I washed it already third time.

Hi b_F. Can you please share your experience with shrinkage of those beauties. They have on inside patch SANFORIZED. I bought those Lee 101B repro from Noaki too. But Noaki says, they are not sanforized.

  7. Did anybody register change of color of leather patch on 220A ? After initial wash, I washed them only once, almost after 3 months in. Wash was done in standard condition... 30 degrees, long cycle, inside out. After initial wash the patch was same as new.

Aww that's too bad. 50's might be my favorite pair at the moment, would love if they brought the black back some day.

Try SC 1947 black. They are now available in stores (after couple of years) and I think cut is very similar...

  9. Fading of black denim is slower than blue one. Think I will start to wear them next January. This year I am due to the Indigo invetional busy with Denime 220...

I have also SC 1966. In size W33. Both cuts are completely different. 66 are generous in top block, while 47 are tighter in waist. 66 are tapered and 47 are loose straight....

    Hello Guys,

I'm interested in S710XX25oz-25TH - 25oz "25th Anniversary Limited Edition" jeans from Samurai.

However, i never deal with Samurai jeans and this kind of heavyweight fabric before and because i lived in a country with no raw denim retail store around, all i can do is doing research on the internet to find as much info as possible.

But even with all the info that i can find online, i wanted to ask help from people of this forum to give advice on the S710 cut sizing for 25 Oz.

I normally wear size 32 or around 82-84 waist depends on the jeans weight fabric. I've compared several measurements chart for this produce across several retailer website and for one washed version, size 32 looks to be around 82 cm range.

So the question I'm currently need is, will this Sammy 25 Oz fabric stretch out or

I don't wear Samurai quite long time. But what I remember my 710 19 oz I sized up from W33 to W34 and they shrunk 5-6 cm. After wear they stretched 4 cm back and after couple of washes they stoped to stretch back. So they finished on unwearable level... Almost all denim pants  I have, stratch back to raw size. I think more heavy denim (oz) less stretch. But also, I have no experience with denim more than 19 oz....

    So, along me size up...

I've got a pair of 1966 on the way. First Sugar Cane jeans for me. I always tend to associate "66" type jeans with a low rise, roomy top block, and sharply-tapered leg, but this pair isn't like that at all. Actually, the fit is the whole reason I wanted these: since I usually tuck in my shirts nowadays, I find the rise on most jeans in my size (about 31" or so) disappointingly low for the purpose. This is maybe not surprising since I'm much taller than most people with a 31" waist. More "normal" proportioned guys of my height (about 6'3" / 191 cm) probably have a 34-36 waist. You go up to that size in any of the jeans I wear and you get 1-2" of additional rise. This would seem to make a big difference not just in terms of comfort, but also practical considerations like shirts I want tucked in, staying tucked in.

The 1966 doesn't have as many fancy details as I'm accustomed to enjoying, like rolled belt loops, rolled back pocket edges, hidden rivets, and so on. But the fit in a size 30 looks dead on. Much longer rise than my other jeans, and a straight leg just a little slimmer in the thigh, with a very mild taper to a 20 cm hem that can easily accommodate my engineer boots. There's a good chance these end up being the best-fitting jeans I've ever worn. The denim is obviously pretty modest, but I suspect that with my typical infrequent washing routine they'd fade as nicely as my other pairs. Another bonus: it looks like the most recent run of these has a very long inseam, almost 36" in one-wash form, which is also quite appealing. These were also very cheap, at under $150.

At this point I care less about very ostentatious denim and details or exclusive features and would rather just have a pretty classic pair of jeans that fits just how I want, and I'm pretty sure these will do just that. Of course I'll share pics and impressions once they get here. Some other SC models like the Okinawa, Hawaii, and 1955 also seem like they'd be good fits, but the 1966 seems like the best place to start.

good luck with your new acquisition. I like SC 66 very much. both fit and denim... I think you did good choice. denim of 66 is quite fast fader and in couple of weeks will be molded on your body as glow....

My bad! 10.5. I thought I included that in the post, but I guess not. Just edited it.

pity, I like them very much, but they are too big for me. In JF I need 10 ...

John Lofgren Wabash engineer boots in Shinki horsebutt. Beautiful boots which unfortunately don’t work for my feet. $1100 plus shipping. Only worn casually a handful of times. Only real blemish is a scuff around the toe of the right boot, as pictured.
