Would keep them myself but pre-stretch they’re already too large. At blue owl and other places these jeans sell for up to $295. Buy them hot soaked and save!

I’ve only posted here a few times but have EBay account (Comradesnowball).

    Contact me if interested.

    Thanks for looking.
  2. Thanks, but I'd rather not pay $120 +/- more.

I contacted sellers of the SC40401A hoping they could get a hold of the raw version. Oh well, if all else fails then plain old SC40401A it is, which imo isn't as fun.

Very excited to get my hands on this amazing relic!

    The fabric is unreal....... :)

    Nice man, I'm officially jealous.

Thus far my search for size 28 No-wash Hawii's has been fruitless.
Two attempts to contact Naoki have been met with silence and contacting Rakuten sellers results in confusing emails. Which admittedly is my fault for hoping they can understand some English and then relying on Google translate to not mess up the translated version.....
  4. Sugar Cane is an amazing brand with a wide range of product, but the discrepancy in price between what it sells for in Japan and the US has stunted its growth.  I hope to change that in the near future.

    Awesome.

  5. ^^^Thanks.

I'll give them a call tomorrow. However maybe I should contact a few Rakuten sellers as well because even if you factor in shipping it'll still be around $100 less, that is if they have them.

Anyone know of any other places?

  6. Hi everyone,

Do a you know where I can purchase a new pair of raw Hawaii's in a size 28?

And, if that would be the ideal size to get for a 28.2 inch waist after soak/wear?

    Thanks.

  7. Yup they'll shrink. After the first soak my 3009's shrunk 2" and after the second one, done with about a week of total wear, they shrunk further.

I don't know how much they'll end up stretching back out since this is my first pair. Hopefully it's not too extreme since not much pressure is being exerted by my waist.

  8. <p>

Wow, I didn't even notice the wedgie. Hmm, so a wash doesn't help with that?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you like the 3009 and the waist/lower rise is tight then you might consider going up 1-2 sizes. After a hot soak the waist can shrink over 2'. The thighs, which also looked like they'd fit too tight after soak, will also tighten up (to lesser degree). Keeping that in mind, from what I've read the 3005's thighs measure tighter then the 3009. Which IMO is perplexing for a cut that's supposed to be roomer then the 3009.Another word of advice for any prospective 3009 purchasers is to consider preemptive reenforcement of the back pockets. At least that's what I'm having done since after a second soak the left one came loose. Before and after pictures will be posted in a week or so when they get back from being repaired.

  9. While it would be time consuming for a store to measure every pair of jeans, I don't think it's out of line to ask for before placing an online order.

Especially since we're talking about a $300+ purchase being made sight unseen that's potentially nonreturnable if soaked/ altered.

Before purchasing the 3009 I called Tate + Yoko and they were nice enough to take measurements. Which was of great help because many online stores have differing specifications (with SE's being the most)

  10. IMO, the 3009's rise could be slightly lower but then again I am on the shorter side.

After a good hot soak the upper thigh fit well but the top block/hip could be smaller. The lower part of the back rise could also use a little more give as well so it doesn't ride up quite as much. However this is my first pair and they only have around 3 days of real wear so there is a good chance most of these issues will disappear with wear.

I don't know about other models but the 3009 size 31 pre-soak waist size was slightly under 31' which shrunk to a little under 29' post. Using that logic if you're looking for a 31' waist then go with a size 33.

  11. ^^^ There are a couple of sellers on Rakuten that have sz 34 3009's for sale.

I've never purchased anything through that site but have read positive reviews here.

  12. ^^^

Makes sense, thanks for all the answers guys.

I might end up going with raw Hawaii's as well since according to measurements on Rakuten I'm between sizes (29-30) with the one-wash version.

How much did they shrink after soaking?, and at what temp did you soak them?

And lastly what's the best method (if any) for preserving the patch during soak.

    Thanks again.

  13. That's all I have right now. That was a motel/beach/vacation shot. Now on to chasing my 6 and 3 year old boys around! Just ordered a pair of raw Hawaiis from Naoki at PSA. should be waiting for me when we get home. Will post pics of their evo.

Forgive this noob'ish question, but what's the advantage of buying raw Hawaii's?

I'm asking because those are probably going to be my next jean purchase and was curious, especially since I'd hot soak raws anyway.

    Thanks.

  14. Hi guys,

Thanks to all of the info and fade pics here, I'm now the proud owner of new 3009's size 31.

Raw measurements were a little under 31' waist and close to 36' inseam. After hot soaking them for 50min (20 min on each side and 10 inside out) , the waist shrank to slightly under 29' and to 33' in the inseam.

I'm not big on supplying fit pics but am happy with the fit and will provide comparison fade pictures at the 6 month mark (for both date and actual wear time).
