  1. No way you could do a wierd guy fit, the legs are too tapered for you. Sl-100 are similar to the new standards but the rise is bigger so there's more room in the upper thigh/ass. Also, they aren't as tapered as the new standards, but there's not much difference (according to measurements I've seen).

Those new standards aren't bad, I have a pair of them that fit like your pic at first, there wasn't any slack around my thighs. But, after about 10 wears or so, they stretched out and fit fine now.

  2. 2 weeks ago I ordered the red core selvedge from Barney's in a 32 where my waist is a 34, based on recommendations here to size down 2. They were so tight on my thighs I couldn't get the waist up, though I'm sure it would have fit.

After sending them back, I ordered a pair of 34. I wore them for an hour yesterday and an hour today, but I can't bend over or lift my knees above a 45 degree angle because they are too tight in the thighs.

Think a size 36 will have large enough thighs for me to comfortably wear after stretching out, or should I just say screw it with the weird guy fit and look elsewhere?

I think you should give up on the WG fit. I tried some wierd guys and this is how they fit on me too. I ended up with a pair of Slim guys (sized down). I also have a pair of APC new standards that fit just like the slim guys from the knees up, but are a little more tapered towards the hem.

  3. That's cool although I hope they're able to offer them at a decent price. Their Momotaros and SDAs are really too expensive to consider shopping there.

Yeah, I was in there on the weekend to pick up a pair of jeans I had chainstitched and checked out some Momotaros, SDAs and Spellbounds. The prices were ridiculous. With current exchange rates, it's about 60% more than the rest of the market. The Spellbounds were more than double the price on Blue Owl. Super nice guys, and I would pay a little more for the service that they offered, but my charity does not extend to paying double.

I figure that the FHs are going to be insanely priced.

  4. For the London guys in this thread; I went by Son of a Stag today and was chatting with the guys there. They say that they are going to be stocking Flat Head and Iron Heart in the near future, July-August sometime. Just a heads up.

  5. I may be out in east London today. If I have the chance, maybe I can go by Boxpark and see if they have anything about the measurements that I can post on here.

Is it desperate to bring a tape measure with me?

  6. Airforbes: Assuming that SE's 3009s are really 38" long pre-soak, they should shrink down to 35". I'm not sure if those measurements are reliable or not, though. I got some F310s from SE before and though they're listed as 37.5" on the site, they were actually about 36" long - that's the normal length for FH jeans in Japan. Assuming SE gets a special run of 3009s, those might actually be 38". If so, you should be fine. You'll be fine either way if your true inseam is 32".

The F380 and 3009 are the same cut. If you can get the F380 it's a better value than the 3009, SE is charging way too much for the 3009 for some reason, since construction-wise there's nothing there that should justify higher prices than the other, cheaper models they carry like the F310 or F380.

Very nice jeans Goki, I'd love to see some full pics. How many months?

    Awesome. Thanks for the help.

  7. Thanks for the info. I'm trying to figure out the hem and thigh sizes mostly. A 3009 as a hem of 9 pre-soak. A 33 inch inseam seems like a lot of shrinkage from the measured 38 on self edge.

The 9" hem is kind of what I want in the finished product. I was hoping that the hem shrinkage would be a bit less, keeping in mind that I'm 5'11 so my hem would be at 32".

    Maybe the f380?

  8. I've been going through the back pages of this thread, and I see that the 3009 and the 3005 aren't that popular (or not as popular as the bsp or 3001).

Does anyone have, or know where I can find post soak measurements on the 3009 or 3005 (tagged waist 36)?

I have some slim fit jeans (APC new standard) but I would also like to have some looser (but not baggy) fit jeans. It's not always a slim fit day.

  9. Hey Airforbes1, denimgeek is a UK based that stock 3sixteen - http://www.denimgeek.com/3sixteen-m8

Also, you could buy a pair unhemmed to check the fit and if they're ok take them to Son Of A Stag on Brick Lane to get chain stitched. They're really helpful in there. I think they charge £20 and will also re-hem for free.

Hope that helps. I've had a few pairs of 3sixteen and they're totally worth it!

Thanks. I found them too, and they said that they would be getting some SL100s in soon (a few weeks).

However, I couldn't really wait anymore. I have lost a lot of weight recently and none of my trousers (not just jeans) fit me anymore (waist bands sag below the belt). I had to get something, now. I work at a department store that carries A.P.C. so I was able to get a pair of New Standards at a discount. At full price, it would have been a no-brainer, and I would have just ordered from SE and put up with the possibility of customs charges (that's how much I think of everything I've read about 3Sixteen as a company, and all of the measurements/fittings). My next pair will definitely be a pair of SL100s.

Actually, I called Son of a Stag this morning about getting my A.P.C.s hemmed, they said the turn around would be a day. Prety reasonable I think.

Thanks for links. Best forum I've come across in a very long time.

The thighs look like they have stretched a bit. I'm a bit confused as most posters say that the thighs on NS don't stretch at all.

  11. I really want to try on a pair of SL-100. I wish someone in London carried them. I would just order from SE or 3Sixteen directly but 1) I would need them hemmed to a 32 which would stop me from being able to return them if they didn't fit properly 2) May have to pay extortionate duties 3) How do you guys buy jeans online without trying them on?

  12. I tried on the 2008 cut the other day and I really liked it. I have quite large/muscular thighs and these were the best fitting jeans I've tried on recently. One of the few pairs that I've tried that would fit in the legs, but not be loose at the waist. I hadn't been to Evisu in a long time, was disapponted that they don't have the plain pocket jeans anymore. The only things holding me back are the price, and the gulls. I'm not a huge fan of the branding. How long does it take for the back gulls to fade away?

  13. I tried on a pair of WG cuts today and had to size up in order to fit my thighs in them (on the large/muscular side), but then, the waistband was a little loose, just the band, not the seat. Does this mean that N&Fs are off my radar?
