Boy those are...something. Props for wearing them for 8 months.

They’re gonna go to two years or so. They deserve it. They’re too strange not to thrash.

Like there was a guy on reddit I think who would go bouldering specifically in his jeans, and made sure to wipe the hand chalk off on the jeans so it would receive extra abrasion.

If they're loose enough not to impede movement what is wrong with climbing in jeans? What else would he wipe his hands on between/during climbs? What do you think other climbers wipe their hands on? "Don't baby your jeans, let them reflect your life and the things you do in them" used to be the mantra around here and seeing that fade, so to speak, is...strange

I saw this madness mentioned on Instagram and had to share it here, Todd Shelton's seven rules for clothing.

These are all stupid, but #6 is probably the worst.

It's been mentioned, but this honestly isn't bad advice for someone operating with clue zero on how to dress. While a sufu regular almost certainly gets how to break "rules" and make it work--how to style!--there are loads of people who don't know where to begin improving how they look, or even understand that there are things they could do better! These are easy points for a jorts-and-Big Dogs-tee type of reader to follow and start to figure out how they want to look.

Hard disagree with the point about socks though. Always wear fun socks.

Thanks mate, I like the rain too so I'm generally happy no matter what weather we end up with here!

Another nice day and some pics of my Evis Lot 2513 carpenter pants.

I think this is the first time I've seen a full-leg gull with some wear and...I...I like it a lot? Hm.

  5. SEXIH22TYPEIII at uhhhh probably 2.5 years of wear. It had a wash last year before it went away for spring and might get another when it gets a little warmer.

  6. Haha, yeah, I'd heard you needed to go up a few sizes but it's still jarring to actually pull on something tagged that much bigger than you're used to. The 35 I tried on just wasn't quiiite right, even though it was buttonable...I felt pinched in the seat and didn't like how it looked on me in the mirror. With a couple weeks of wear that might have sorted itself out, but the 36 were nicer all around from the second I pulled them on and the lady at the store thought they were a better fit too. I wasn't gonna argue with the expert. :P

At this point they've stretched enough that they sag just a smidgen and I didn't have to go through break-in hell, so I think it worked okay!

That's a good fit. Is that the 14.5oz denim and how did you size?

    Thank you! Yes, it's the 14.5 oz. I bought a one-wash pair in-store which simplified things...I'm a 32" waist and these are a size 36 (!).

  8. Looking so beautifully faded with strong whiskers and wear pattern.

    I can't stop watching them!!!

I also love your hardcore work on your front side of the cuffs!!!

Can't wait to see back side update

Thanks Ruedi! I'll have some photos up on Instagram tomorrow I think. They're at seventeen months now...time is flying.

  9. hahaha i was like "whoa that's a bit uncalled for", but that is his actual forum name ^_^

I need to get myself an Iron Heart UHR pair...the 777-UHR should be releasing at some point

The backs of my knees got chewed up bad for the first two weeks with these. Anyone picking up the 777-UHR is gonna be in for an experience...
