  1. m4xime how did you end up sizing on those? im having the same issue you were, deciding about the knee/calf measurement.

I bought a pair of 29s. However, you need to acknowledge the fact that before that I decided to get healthier and lost 10kg. I still have muscular legs the 29s feel pretty snug but I think they'll stretch enough to be perfect. The 30s would have been spot on right now but not after some streching.

FWIW I wear size 30 Uniqlo chinos and compared their measurement to decide which size of RGT I was going to buy.

  2. I own the original Stantons 14.5oz, and the measurements were dead on from Karls measurements on the website. The only difference between the original fit and the fit now I think is the thigh, which was .25 bigger than it is now.

I can imagine the measurements being accurate but it was just for the calves part, to see if they'd fit. Here I am wearing a size 31 Tellason Ladbroke Grove :

What do you think, 30 or 31 Stantons? :)

  3. Would anyone here who owns a pair of stantons in 30 or 31 be willing to give me some more measurements?

I'll update my post tonight to ask you to measure the width of the leg from a certain distance from the crotch area because I'm not super tall and want to know the exact measurement of the knee section to see if my calves would fit in a 30 or if I should go for a 31.

  4. Hey guys! Looking for some quick information before buying my first pair of Dark Stantons. I currently wear a pair of 31 Tellason Ladbroke grove (4months) which have stretched and are now too big in the waist (I just fix it with a belt). Here are the measurements for them :

    - Waist : 17.7 (Initial according to Woodlands : 16)

    - Knee : 8.5 (Initial according to Woodlands : 8.5)

    - Front rise : 9.5 (Initial according to Woodlands : 9.5)

    - Back rise : 14.5 (Initial according to Woodlands : 14.5)

Do you think I should go for the size 31 or 30 on the RT Dark Stantons? I think I could go with the 30 and they would stretch but just worried about the knee bit. I'm 5.7ft tall and 158lbs btw

    TAG SIZE 30: WB:16 FRONT RISE: 10 BACK RISE:14.75 UPPER THIGH:11.25 KNEE:7.75 HEM:7.25

    TAG SIZE 31: WB:16.5 FRONT RISE: 10.25 BACK RISE:15 UPPER THIGH:11.5 KNEE:8 HEM:7.5

    Thanks!

RT jeans are sanforized (pre-shrunk), so if your current jeans measure 32" buy something that measures a 30.5" or 31". They'll be snug at first but will stretch out nicely.

Once you pick your waist size it'll be easy to determine the rest (thigh, knee, hem)

I think that would actually be too tight under the knee area because the 511 that I measured are already quite tight in this area and I'd want just a little bit of space. I actually want them to follow the shape of my without feeling them all around my skin likes leggings would feel. Don't know if I'm expressing myself clearly :/

  6. hey guys! Discovered Rogue Territory last week and I think the Stanton would be a perfect fit for me and I'd love to purchase from Karl. Everyone seems to be really pleased with the quality of his goods!

    However, sizing wise I'm not too sure and I'm hesitating between a size 31 & 32. I'm 5"7 and 176 lbs and here's a pic of me wearing a Levis 511 in 32 :

I'll post the measurement of those jeans tonight so we can compare them to Karl's measurements taking the strecthing into account :

    WB : 16; Front rise : 9.45; Back rise : 13.4; Thigh : 11; Knee : 8; Leg opening : 7.5

So far do you guys think a 31 or 32 would be better ?

  7. I couldn't agree more.

I bought these at a good discount (30% off) at a store that was closing. I'd been considering the RW GT/Beckman and found these to be more comfortable out of the box than the Red Wings. Couple the comfort and the sale price and I went with the 1K's.

In retrospect, I wish I'd done it a little differently. The out of the box comfort is a bit misleading and I don't think these would hold up as well long term compared to a variety of other boots/brands. Unfortunately, I found this thread *after* buying the 1K's. I've since settled on the SD as my next boot but these have broken in rather nicely and have held up well. Perhaps I'll bite the bullet this fall and just order the SD's.

FWIW, the 1K's are a decent boot in the $200 range but at full MSRP, as you said there are better choices. They were a good entry into the workboot marketplace however, and I'm now a lot more educated.

I've "built" [online] a pair of SD's countless times in the last couple of yrs. perhaps I'll finally hit the order button this year.

SD ? Would you say the RW 9016 are better than the 1Ks ?

  8. @FALERBRAND : Curious how you sized them compared to your real waist size ?

@Kabukky : Weird they don't seem to have stretched that much have they ?
