  1. You actually can screen print even wool knits, but you need special etching acid and then waterbased inks that penetrate fibers.
Not that E. used to work with one of the best garmentdye brand in the world, but sadly  SI still use cheapest and crapiest plastizole screen print on it's t-shirts
But it's polartec syntetics, you can print it like in 3 different ways and it will be miles better. it's the same process sport brands use to print leggins.
    this one is just lazy

Bryan unlisted the video a year or two ago, sorry.

Is there any way to ask him for video?

It's just so lighthearted and have great humor, which is rare in acronym related anything.

  3. So a little bit data-hoarder question.

Anybody still have this old acronymjutsu advanced mock video from impulse? With dog and bag on the head?

The main youtube video is unavailable and i cant find it anywhere even with wayback machine.

Tried to scrap some relevant information and didn't get much either.... Brief mention of it here on this Outlier Reddit thread. 2nd comment down. It could just be their own branded fabric.

Edit: First thing that comes up when searching TerraTex is Hanesgeo which looks completely unrelated. They possibly needed to change the name due to it being the same?

Thank you, but sadly not much more info.
I tried looking for similar "hiking pants fabric" and all i found were thou looking the same, but had a harsh and dry feel, nothing like Arc's terratex.
    Quest continues.

  5. So.... Guys.
Now working on some summer pants but all thin fabrics i found are just not robust enough for my chunky legs :)
Desperately looking for that Terratex 94% Nylon 6% Elastane blend Arc uses.
Googling doesn't help, due Arc being one and only who marks that fabric this way.
Somebody, pleeease help, if only with another name of this fabric
If its factory with giant MOQ i could negotiate sample for myself, or even buy up to 100m.
really desperate here, 35+ Celsius last summer, here)

^^ I'd also like to know about cloudburst and riot division products as well. Anyone with thoughts on quality, fabrics, etc would be appreciated

I'm friends with Riot Division guys, for full disclosure.
Quality wise they shoot above their price, materials are really good (ykk zippers, really good nylons, nice membranes (not goretex or neoshell thou, some fidlock and cobrax like buttons),  some of the stitching may be wonky from time to time and some details (velcro for example) are not fully polished yet, but all the stuff do look better IRL then on photos.
The fit is different, they do develop all of their stuff inhouse, so the sizing is different from all other brands i own.
RD do love pockets, zippers and transforming clothes, a lot :)
If they are up your style, you should try, but be prepared that quality from model to model will vary, but there really some good stuff.

@DROVES @piece keeper @mizzar - My favorite supplier is Chun Wo Ho Co, they're one of the biggest manufacturers of cordage, webbing, elastic, etc. They do all the webbing for Arc'Teryx among many others. Low mins, quick turn around, endless customization... tricky language barrier though. Also of note is Tennessee Webbing, and KandK Garment Accessories Co.

Thanks, i'll contact them, still would like some stock from europe, not that 1 km is a lot, but stock is just faster and what you see is what you get.

  8. Would like to know too, Europe and cotton 7-9mm, preferably.

No techwear really, but anyone have any ideas on where to source a high quality drawstring/lace for a hoodie? Got a hoodie whose drawstring I'd like to replace since it's frayed quite a bit.

I'll upload an image directory with all the high-res pics of the clothing items later today.

You are doing good work :)
offtopic: been using you pouches with my rig daily. Thanks once more.

  11. All is good, but he implying  Tilak don't pay wages to their workers ?

The priceist gore-tex jacket from them costs around 640 usd.

    E. maybe talking about wages for him and his studio in Berlin, then yes it could be.

I've sniffed around their yard a bit yes. Perhaps whats been shared is some sacred secret - though it wasn't presented as such. Despite the expansion the intent is clear in results that cost is a new priority. In the past several years my favorite and trusted dead bird models, items tried and tested, have been loosing features, pocket counts, new fit and sizes, less integration between models, and build quality is on a decline.  And increase in product offering doesn't mean much when the most of them share the ~same patterns.

Its precisely the "tech" you speak of that I have issue with... why are zippers being laminated when stitching is stronger for example? When there's no testable metric that justifies that particular 'innovation' its just tech for tech sake.

There's wild potential still with deadbird methinks, but they lost their aggressive sociopathic innovators years ago. I don't blame Amer for the behavior... Arc pioneered water resistant zippers and let the IP slide, they brought hardfleece and softshell tech to market and let the IP slide, the list like this is long... they've literally handed away billions in industry control and they deserve the recourse the new owners are putting in place.

I'll note that I own practically the entire arcteryx alpine product line, and have dedicated myself to their product ecosystem and have put my life in their hands countless times. The decline in quality I saw was the spark the pulled me into making my own kit... shit today is more "technological" sure... but simply not as 'good' as it was in the ~2010 era.

I have 2009 gamma ar pants that have outlasted their 2017 model equivilants.... which shredded when a took a little whipper climbing this summer, whereas the old model has stood up to everything for nearly a decade and laughed it off.

no argument can change that they (and most others) are now a publicly traded business. Legally beholden to shareholders to yield growth. Profit is the endgame there now.

Even Veilance stuff quality declined, friend of mine had 2013 partition coat, needed some repairs, sadly non repairable, received some 2017 coat, and the way zipper was stitched  just lazy and slacky... so thats why i'm, like you, now trying to make something that would fill that void for when my own 2011 partition coat goes out.
Have some stretch  NeoShell, have my patternmaking skills and friends on a small factory with seam sealing eqt.

  13. Also this is Fidel Castro during USSR visit, the pup is bear and the flap (not fin it's a long flap but the photo make it look like one) is a simple shirt button closure, not snap button,

Very very similar to k-19 or one of the modifications.

You're wrong - Stotz Etaproof is very water resistant, never soaked through for me even in the heaviest rains. It does get wet on the outside, but stays dry inside.

The price difference between those zippers would be 50 cents max, it's nothing.

Only that those waterproof zippers are a bit harder to open, but still would make more sense in that spot.

my ykk supplier qoutes me 2,8x price increase on "waterproof" ykk with nonstandart camlock pools so not 50 cents

  15. Could you please elaborate?

4 Season pant? 3 seasons for sure - if you spend your days outside. I wouldn’t want to wear them indoors all day long even in winter. NeoShell IS a hard shell even if it feels more like soft.
