  1. How is the durability on the titanium case? I know titanium as material is pretty durable, but how about scratch resistance? I had the impression that it is a bit softer than ss, but maybe the matte finish does a good job of hiding scratches.

  2. Oh god gas mileage is terrible! 12-13mpg for me in Chicago. 
     

    I’ve also spent a fair amount on (routine!) maintenance despite buying it with only 8k miles (~26k now). I think the 20k mile scheduled maintenance was around 3k with labor. Still don’t know if all the stuff that was on the maintenance schedule was necessary...

     

    im also with you on the wheels and tire package (which I also don’t have). I’ve gotten two flats that ended up needing a tow due to 1. No wheel lock key given to me when purchased, and 2. Faulty spare that wouldn’t inflate. Thankfully the tows were covered... the tires and labor weren’t cheap  

    that said, I plan to do it all again with a Porsche the next time I need something new

    I will admit that I've had some thoughts about selling it lately, as it's about to hit 50k miles and I seem to have problems pop up more often thann I'd like. On New Year's eve of this year I had a coolant issue that cost almost 2 grand to fix. Once the repairs start getting that expensive and happening somewhat often it's time to consider another car possibly. No idea what I would get in place of it. Here's a photo from out in west Texas from February 2019.

    Have a 2015 Macan S myself. Love it so much! It's definitely not a family car, however, especially with a car seat. No way it fits behind the driver's seat and even the passenger seat has to be pushed way forward.

    I test Drove a (used) Turbo when I was shopping a couple of years ago, but had to pass on it. It was in the budget, but I am pretty sure it was previously owned by an old lady. It was an ugly gold color and had the very basic 19" wheels. I would have had to spent a few grand getting a wrap and new wheels. The top of the line club leather interior, brutal acceleration, and great handling had me strongly considering it however!

  5. That’s great to hear about the fabric. I was wearing the black Cody last night and told my wife I ordered the same shirt in a brown corduroy. Her first comment was “Did you order it in a bigger size?”.  Haha, I don’t think I need it in a bigger size but definitely good to hear the fabric has some give to it.

  6. Was waiting for months to see if you’d get the corduroy Cody Shirts, and was a bit bummed when the first shipment came in a few weeks ago. Really glad you ended up ordering these and Instacopped the brown one. I have the black denim, olive trigger shirt, and now this. Not sure why I’m sleeping on the indigo denim one...

    What aspect of the jeans are you referring to? I’ve heard many people comment that ooe stitching is as good or better than Roy. However, although I’ve Never seen a pair in person, ooe look like just a basic pair of very well made jeans, whereas Roy jeans ooze creativity, with all the crazy yet still hidden details.
     

    Im not sure those details can qualify them as better jeans, but to my eyes there still appears to be something to Roy jeans that even Ooe can’t reproduce. 

  8. I know it’s a bit more of a modern interpretation but I would highly recommend the ironheart n1 over any repro version. Their cuts are more in line with a modern aesthetic. I am 6’0” 195lbs broad shoulders big chest and always have trouble getting shirts from these Japanese companies to fit. Shoulders, chest, and sleeves in large are usually too small and body / length in XL is usually too big. Size large in the ironheart n1 fits me great.
     

    I think you’re a bit shorter than me but you’ll probably have better luck getting ironheart to fit. You may still need to tailor the sleeve length but I think the rest of the body and sleeve volume will be more to your liking.

    @Aries what do you think so far?

     

    They front of the boot is quite snug on me but I still have quite a decent amount of help slip. Quite sure they’re not too big...about half an inch or so in front of the big toe when standing up. I think I just have fat forefoot and narrow heels. By no means am I about to step out of them, but I would prefer a more planted feeling. Hoping it settles down as the soles break in. 
     

    The sun’s not very intense these days, but I’ve had them sitting out in it for a few hours each weekend and they’ve darkened noticeably. I don’t plan to treat them with anything until it starts snowing.

  10. Some thoughts after a few days of wearing the wesco van cleef III from S&S:

    The leather is extremely delicate. It’s durability may exceed it’s appearance, but these seem to be fashion boots first, and aren’t intended to be treated roughly. The shaft leather on the left boot is substantially softer and maybe even thinner than the right boot. I don’t anticipate it keeping it’s shape for long. This leather could probably have used an inner lining. 

    However, these same qualities have made them extremely easy to wear, requiring basically no break-in on the upper (sole needs some work still). I think I sized these exactly right, and they go on and off without much hassle. I have wide feet with a high instep as well.

    Overall I love the boots. They are very distinctive and attract lots of glimpses, comments, and questions. I am excited to see how they develop over time. I’m not worried about scratching them up or getting them dirty, but I wish I could avoid getting indigo stains from my jeans!

  11. They look great. Maybe the coolest looking leather I’ve seen on a boot. Toe looks more bulbous than regular lofgrens, no?

    I think a lot of “normal” people would see a cut of leather with that many “imperfections” (those scars in the hide are pretty noticeable) and discount them as being flawed. Not us denim / leather freaks.

    I have a Brompton leather sofa that is covered in scars like thisCharacter like that is one of the main reasons I bought it. It’s probably too heavy for footwear but I’ve always thought it would look great on a boot.
