Except the bird logo and the logo you think they're exactly the same? (just ordered them, the facet)
The new gloves for example are just taken 1 on 1 from the mainline

looks promising and about the Patrol IS it reads:

wb400 is a hideous abomination of a softshell fabric
Acronym uses some "WB-400 Cotton Softshell" in SS13 (even there are absolutely no cotton in it if you look at the schoeller label) and to me it is the best softshell to date.
The Veilance polytope hooded jacket seems amazing too

Gore and Shoeller is alright together I believe, acronym is doing that combo as well.
It works together but it is maybe more profitable to take side and Arc'teryx is a subsidiary of Amer Sports ; I suppose that Conroy Nachtigall is not as free (on a business point of view and so about the fabric) as Errolson Hugh.

Abe is just plain wrong on a few points and saying things like "they use cheap fabrics" and "the markup is 2.7x" really comes across as ignorant and like he's trying to down-talk the competition.
"cheap fabrics" is not the point, it is about the most expensive ones.
It seems reasonable to say that it is not interesting for arcteryx to use top notch schoeller products in the veilance line, simply because it is not profitable and maybe regarding the gore-tex licensing.
Veilance designer Conroy Nachtigall even said that about its favorite fabric: (full story here http://032c.com/2011/archetype/)

Thats BS by the way (at least in the EU). Mark up or regular brands is 2x - 2.2x, for the higher end stuff you're looking at 2.2x - 2.5x. 2.7x is ridiculous. Acronym is not compromising on fabric, hell they put 2x or more R&D in their stuff then Outlier and you know what the mark up for that stuff is? Yeah far below 2.7x.
Hope you're right, I would love to have again (spec pants are in windstopper) veilance pants with more technical fabrics

So im a 32 in the main line shorts, and they are a little snug. If you had to guess would you say that just a size would have made the difference for fitting, or 2 sizes?
you may try size 32 so...returns are made for that

I doubt price is a major influence on veilance fabric selection..
I read that it is...
Abe Bumeister (Outlier) about Veilance pricing:
"Like all really high end brands the retailers are marking things up about 2.7x. (as opposed to just 2x in outdoor). That really limits the fabrics they can use. Obviously they are using pretty solid quality stuff, but you never see them using Schoeller doubleweaves"

Im looking to get some voronois this fall, but im wondering about the sizing. I have some old mainline shorts from a few years back, and looking at the numbers for the current version and veilance size chart, on paper they match, which would be cool. If any of you have experience with both (main line and veilance) pants sizing, is this indeed true, or should i size up/down whatever.
if it can help, spec pants 30 fit well for me but voronois from ss13 in 30 did not fit at all, too tapered (legs) and tight (waist)
some voronois in stretchy wb400 (same as acronym p9ch/p11ch) would be fantastic but I suppose the fabric is too expensive

Damn. The bags look ill.
Can't really front but I need some more acronym for this fall season
I understand that there are new bags on the way?

well that's interesting...they took away the 2 side pockets.
A bit weird though that the pockets cost 100,- a piece looking at the price difference with the P9, thats absurd off course.
Now if they just make a P12 with the same profile but a slightly tapered foot and in stotz eta/epic I can throw away all my pants and just live in those for a few years.
a P12 pant? suppose it is a subnet thing or I've missed something...

I asked about the caps a few weeks ago and was informed that they have no plans to make new ones.
I really hope they're making new (OG Cap? ;-)) and more caps...
There is no equivalent of their classic cycling cap in wool, and I hope they see it as a core product

nonetheless has waterproof commuter pants
crye precision has some all weather pants too but not sure we can talk about urban techwear in that case

More precision:
- Outlier OG Blazer pockets are still sewn
- Acronym SS-J25 has nanosphere treatment (it is not officially stated)

does somebody know if veilance or acronym did actual waterproof (gore-tex or c_change maybe?) pants in the past?

hi all
wtb ACR schoeller (dryskin/wb-400, etc) jacket (size M, and without the ninja cuffs) or schoeller pants (size S), pm me if you sell that sort of things0 -
Well... I guess I gained some weight. NYCO Slims going back to Outlier. I can't squeeze into a 30. Hopefully they have a 31 in Navy laying around.
The material is fantastic. Love the feel of it, how rigid, but comfortable it is, and the navy color is awesome. I might have to settle for the Olive if they don't have another 31 in Navy.
Same things for me, guess I gained some weight and can't squeeze into my Acr P9s, size S ; pm me if it may interest you

but don't sell your p9-e olive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we'll see....what i would like for next winter is a P9-wb400-energear to match with my SS-J25 ;-)
