  1. I had the exact same issue with the pair I just posted photos of and honestly I just kinda accepted it's the way they were gonna be and stopped worrying about it and sure enough after a few months had passed they relaxed and settled. Now I don't even notice or think about it. Hopefully the same will be true for you.

You could also try this kind of cuff. It's worked well for me.

What I like about this type of cuff is the chainstitch is still visible whereas a standard double cuff it isn't.

Momotaro x Blue Owl "Midnight Warrior" Skinny Straight 15.7oz - Model BOM001

    6 Months

    3 washes

Please excuse the crazy lighting here in Los Angeles today.

They really are that dark in areas and that bright electric blue in the worn areas.

They are my tightest fitting pair so the fading is pretty extreme.

  3. Ya that fit is spot on mate!

Max is right though...they will settle after some time.

And yes to a hem to eliminate the amount of fabric stacking up around the knee.

That Momotaro banner is sweet! I would love to have one of those.

  4. Man that 8 year old pair is just another example of how incredible the Eternal denim really is.

I've yet to see any other label that compares except maybe Samurai or believe it or not Skull.

Now that's a proper pair of jeans IMO.

All the wear and fading is natural. I don't see any pinching or otherwise.

Insane roping and those combs are beautiful.

    Nice work @210895

  6. Sure. I really wish I can start wearing them right now. I'll let the (old) photos do the talking.

The fit is a very straight leg as you can see and  I sort of wish I got the tapered version instead. Still, given my experience with the xx-012, my thighs would not have fit well and it would lead to blowout in a year anyways. I guess I'll just have to stick to bigger models.

The orange brick weft is not quite noticeable from afar and give the jeans a somewhat rusty hue. Upon closer inspection, however, it shines brightly and can be very eye catching.

The leather patch is quite dry at the moment due to the one-wash process I presume. And so, I used some Real McCoys horse oil on it and now it's a lot more supple. Being natural leather (veg tanned?), it should darken with wears as well - something I really look forward to.

The fabric is very soft to the touch since the One wash process probably got rid of most of the starch. I assume that this pair is made in Japan from the same cotton as the xx012, which is a mix of American and Zimbabwean cotton. And so, the 18oz is quite heavy but surprisingly breathable, which is perfect for Southeast Asian weather. I also look forward to rocking it regularly in America when I go back as well.

    Kenichi Iwaya Senpai noticed me!

Which model did you get? The secret denim?

    Great post @OneHitWonder !!!

IMO, I think Pure Blue Japan and Pronto did a great job on this colab.

I look forward to seeing the evo on these for sure!

This type of modern cut works really well for me so I'm always very interested to see the denim used, it's weight and fading/wear potential. B)

*(photos removed so it wouldn't devalue your original post)

  7. Thanks @Broark.

I'm totally jealous of your Full Count Special Run!!! Your pair looks freakin' amazing!

I totally recommend getting a pair of Eternal's for your collection. You won't be disappointed. Tough to break and patience is a virtue.

Watching the last few months of the Eternal contest photos post up here on Sufu is what got me hooked on getting a pair.

In my humble opinion Eternal's 14.5oz / rope dyed 20+ times denim wears and fades unlike any other I've seen.

The last half dozen pages of that contest thread are a testament to the unique quality of Eternal denim.

So many incredible pairs on display!

Probably wouldn't recommend them as a first pair of raw denim for someone though as they could get frustrated not seeing much progress for a couple months.
