  1. Is the purposely dressing as a Japanese person dressing as an American, as an American not the ultimate appropriation? As you are appropriating the appropriator? You don't have to defend your position/style , it's just a counter observation. Maybe to use this example, the 90s kids are the subculture and the sweatpants kids are just the normal kids we all forget about when recalling an era? Regarding the breakdown of formality and not caring of ones appearance, I get you. However young people shouldn't be used to draw this conclusion. Some teens/ young uns really don't care (hoodie and jeans never getting washed and sloping around) or at least try and give the impression they don't care some wear what ever their mates wear, to fit in and the rest do a similar thing but within a subculture.
  2. First time I've guffawed on here in a long time 🤣
  3. I know what you've trying to say but is it not just as inauthentic as an American (or English/Scottish/Italian) guy trying to dress as a Japanese guy who is trying to dress as an American? There's always been subcultures through the years living alongside pop culture/ trend following groups. We think of the sixties and think Mods, but not everyone was a mod , 80s punk or skinheads, but again only a subculture not the mainstream. We just remember those groups because they were more "extreme" for the period. The same is now with the pop culture being leisure wear and wearing your slippers to the supermarket and subcultures doing their own thing that most of us here are now to old to understand or appreciate. We were exactly the same when we were young.
  4. Imagine how long it will take Neal to get to whatever fashion capital we choose though. Penny Farthings and steam trains and all that....
  5. I seem to be appalling at taking photos even with a decent camera on my phone! (Any tips?) Anyway , bored changing room selfie. Highland 2000 RMC Workers Coat (beast of a coat, brilliant in the winter) M&S lambswool Fullcount Pherrows socks Paraboot
  6. I feel his pain/persecuted POV due to my leaning towards slimmer fits and you lot with your 9 inch hems 😉
  7. Tried toeing them in a bit so they hit the rim with the lead edge slightly ahead of the rest of the pad? Worked for me on V brakes and top pulls

    Denime

Hayashi is at All Blues Co in Leeds tomorrow
  9. Not the most popular fit round here but I went with the 1110xx again. My old pair were to slim and weight gain made it worse, sized up 1 and they feel much better.
  10. Lucky bags have never appealed to me, I know it's a traditional sale thing in Japan but I want to know what I'm paying for up front! Also, finally got round to trying on the 1108xx. Really disappointed with it. For me the tight top block (probably their tightest) with an 8 inch LO doesn't work. I know you lot are going to say that's not a big LO , but with a thigh at 11.5 it felt like a boot cut on me.
  11. Doesn't work like that for me, weirdly not on all topics. Some go to last post some always go to top of the previous page. Same with notifications, sometimes if I click the notification it takes me to the quoted/repped post or sometimes to the top of the previous page.

    Denime

That's a nice fit BF. On the fence about making 224 my first denime and looking at the shrinkage they may work for me. You seem to have got more shrinkage than Blooming and other posters. Perhaps they should expect further shrinkage down the line.
  13. I don't drink beer as much anymore (more of a whisky drinker) except if out for something to eat or average quick stop somewhere but totally agree on the IPA. Now l just want a pint, lager/Guinness, as opposed to a cloudy citrus can for seven quid! @Broark I was heading into London on the day you were marooned in Reading, trains where crazy! cancellations everywhere. I wont even try to pretend thats unusual for the UK rail network!
  14. 2 SDA flannels for sale before they go to Grailed or Marrkt. Great condition no issues. These aren't heavy flannels like UES for example but still very nice fabric. SDA size L these are more like a M at most. Chest 21 inch, back length 28.5, shoulder 18 inches. 60GBP each or both for 100 GBP. If you UK I'll ship for free. Red/Blue shirt not quite as brightly coloured as pic.

  17. Are you saying I have a big butt? 😉
  18. I used to wear wallet reins.I tried solid leather ropes, brass and box weave over the years Wallet wasn't as excessive as this, it was an OGL mid (just poked out over the top of my back pocket) lovely piece of kit that aged beautifully. Still love it now 12 years in..... But I had to admit they just aren't practical or comfortable. Even my relatively slim wallet was uncomfortable to sit on on long journeys, the reins can get caught on door handles etc and one of my rein/hooks damaged the leather on my car seat. I admire the quality and craftsmanship of this set up but it just can't be practical or comfortable for daily use? (Even referring to it as a set up feels to much effort for keys and wallet!) No personal criticism intended CS.
  19. Got SDA for Christmas and some FC incoming so will add to the rotation of the SC and Sam's I just started wearing 🫣
  20. I really like the FC one but can't find it in navy blue anymore. Doesn't need to be an exact repro. The Burgus Plus one has hand warmers and two chest pockets and I'd consider it as well as the more accurate Buzz version. Pike Brothers is a brand I've never really liked but the CPO version looks OK. Anyone own PB? Some pictures show it with a chin strap though and some without
