Thanks for the measurements, I think Resolute is a brand that just isn't meant to be for me.
I should try wearing my 711's more often, the rise just annoys me personally.

You and me both haha. I tried at least haha, but just not meant to be, and the rise is just way too low for the other cuts.

And it seems yours were more tapered them mine @1fookntitefd wish I had your pair haha but still too slim.

  2. Yeah I have a packaged that was shipped from chiba on April 15th and has not been updated since. Kind of sucks as it was car parts I really needed. Should've spent the extra $50ish and just bought from the US. Live and learn haha.

I also had a package ship on 3/10 from Poland and it just came today haha.

The DB18 is the contest denim.

Good to hear! Am thinking now of trying DB2 denim. I'm kind of surprised the prices are super reasonable haha. I like the custom section too. Might have to be my next pair!

Although I really want the 4 cut with the thighs of the 5. But maybe that's something I can ask him

The store in the Bay Area that carries Resolute is called Brogue, they relocated from Menlo Park to San Carlos because the Menlo Park location was small. New store is much less cramped

Kind of late on this but shit did they? Kind of a bummer, never had a chance to go but makes sense for a bigger store but man the Menlo Park location is way more convienent haha

Although I appreciate vintage-style denim now, my favorites are probably still fabrics that are somewhere in the middle - ones that do something non-traditional, but aren't too extreme.

Some examples are Flat Head's 14.5 oz, Eternal's 14.5 oz, PBJ's XX-005 and XX-011 fabrics, Samurai S0500xx, and Sugar Cane Okinawa. I do tend to prefer ones that are darker than vintage, I guess.

I have no interest in super heavy fabrics or excessively wild ones. My Strike Gold jacket has the denim of the 5109/5104, it's easily the wildest fabric I own. I like it, but I wouldn't wear anything more extreme than that.

Samurai texas cotton is still one of my favorite denim. Loved the way they faded, still miss my pair so much. Along with my warehouses, probably my all time favorite.

And I definietly agree, I shifted way more into classic/vintage style denim with the 13-14oz denim and prefer/love they way they look and age. The only thing I still haven't (and for a while probably won't) shift into is the classic cuts. I am just too parficular on my leg opening sizes haha (don't need an ultra hardcore taper or anyhting but also don't need a 9"+ leg opening). But who knows maybe some day!

I am not a fan of heavy weight denim either, but I am looking into the Oni 20oz all black ones since they are the only people to offer an all black pair that seem to fit what I am after. I wish they'd use a different weight denim but have to take what I can get when it comes to black/black.

  6. Kind of similar. Was really big in the Sneaker scene and around 2006/7-ish and saw a lot of people wearing raws so started being interested in it. Of course everyone was rocking APC so was really wanting a pair but was a broke high school kid. So was rocking Levi's for a bit and some "Raw" skate jeans. Then went to Japan in early 2008 and stayed with a home-stay family for a week who happened to own a factory (which was hilarious because I actual set out to buy a pair of "raw selvage denim" so convienent as hell haha). They gave me a couple of pairs (some had designs and stuff ) and you bet I wore them (later discovered one pair was a pair of warehouses). Then later that year after saving up, finally bought a pair of APC New Standards from the APC store in Munich. Slowly branched off from there and now here I am haha.

I need to find some pics of the Jeans I got, they're hilariously bad

Oh man, really? I've always thought of Austin East Ciders way too sweet for my liking. The blood orange is the only one I could stomach.

I am definitely more of a dry traditonal cider person but something about the different flavors gets me haha. I tried the pineapple one years ago and it was also great. I also just love watermelon (although I thought blood orange was better), and even though super sweet I enjoyed them haha.

If anyone ever wants to trade be let me know, it's probably my second biggest hobby after denim.

Don't have much to trade but mail me some Austin East Ciders haha (joking). I miss it so much, the watermelon and blood orange were so good.

But the shipping stuff kind of sucks. I have multiple car parts coming from japan that I really need... I knew it would take a bit but damn. Also have a package coming from Poland that has been stuck for a month .

  9. Yeah my backpocket stichting on one of the pockets is going but other than that, they're pretty good. I put them on everyday just so I can say I got dressed haha. But working from home, going on lots of walks around the neighborhood and working on my car. Not much going on for me.

EDIT: Decided to add some photos haha (and not double post). Still need to give them a wash, but you can see some evolution on the top button! Pics aren't in the greatest lighting but oh well.

EDIT 2: Damn, the resize killed the quality on the first two pics haha. Oh well, damn imgur.

Does anyone have measurements for a size 38 raw post shrink? Or should I just assume that they will be the same as the one wash measurements posted on the BIG site?

I think I also posted some measurements of my size 38 one wash a few pages back. Depending on how you wash you could easily get less shrinkage but probably safe to assume one wash is what you'd get.

Edit: Also saw you were looking for a size 38. Shit man, sadly I sold my 38 a few months back for cheap. I'm in the Bay too, so could've tried them on. Bummer, but there is a shop in downtown Menlo Park that sells resolute (won't do much good now though). Can't remember the name but a block or two up from Mikes Cametra.
