    "Need some advice...

Are acronym jackets and pants good enuff for the Canadian winter?

    Say -20 to -30 degrees?"

IMO, Gore-tex shells are for shoulder seasons or Vancouver winters, not Calgary winters. I very much agree that you would want a down piece like that Herno Laminar (designed by the ACR team). The Wings & Horns x Canada Goose parka would also be appropriate. I think you're missing the functionality of an Acronym shell if you're trying to layer up to meet -30 Celsius temperature, or you have the core temperature of a polar bear. Schoeller pants, however, are great in the snow. Personally, I would still layer a merino base layer underneath, but I get cold.

I highly recommend the Wings + Horns x Canada Goose parka... although good luck trying to find one. Especially if you're looking for one in black! Size wise, I'm usally an M with ACR and the above W+H x CG Jacket was perfect in size M. I wasn't a big fan of the other colour, Olive which really was more of a rust brown.

Have you thought about Arcteryx Veillance? or Stone Island? And if you are in Alberta, you should probably make a trip to Haven. They have a shop in Edmonton and should have all of the above brands + more that have been mentioned here in this forum.

  2. I LOVE that jacket and I totally agree! middle age sucks! I also cannot give up beer so as far as my expanding gut goes, I'm fooked!

Analog29 - if it wasn't for the fact that my J29A is also medium and also a bit too small for my expanding gut I would take that one off your hands. Oh, to not be such a fat fuck. Middle age sucks, kiddos.

  3. If anyone is seriously interested, I would be willing to entertain offers too. Just sayin...

FS: Acronym GT-J29 Size M in Petrol (Black)

I bought it from Firmament when it was released, but sadly, it was too snug. I kept it with the intention that I would eventually fit into it but that hasn't happened. I've never worn it outside and the most use it's ever seen is when I tried it on to see how the fit was... which wasn't often.

For full details on the jacket, visit this Acronym link http://www.acronym.de/product.php?id=511

Below you'll find images that I took to show the current state of the jacket, which is literally brand new. I took pics of the back and elbow areas too to show there's zero sign of wear and tear. *sigh* It really does pain me to sell this beautiful jacket. If anyone wants me to take a more detailed pictures somewhere on the jacket, please let me know.

Because it's literally brand new, (tags included) I'm looking to get back what I paid. 800 euros. This is actually cheaper than the original price. I'm not interested in any trades either. Just straight up cash. If you're interested, please let me know.

    Cheers!

  4. I've been using my Laminate 3A-1 almost daily since it came out and to be honest, it still looks brand new. The laminate is very durable and anything I've accidentally spilled on it (mostly beer) has wiped away perfectly. Right now, I'm hoping the zippers hold out longer than they did on my Limonta 3A-1. Fingers crossed!

  5. fit pics of J1A-LP before i spend £800 please!

I have yet to post pics but it's definitely on the baggy side as Tao has mentioned. My friends at Firmament took 2 fit pics for me and a small fit them both perfectly even though they were both slightly different in body composition. Height was between 5'8" - 5'10ish"

My regular Acronym fit is a Medium and even though they insisted I'd be good in a small, I knew with my 3A-1 underneath, that I would just prefer a baggy fit depending on how packed my bag will get.

  6. Not the best fit pic... but it's the only one out there of the J45M-BW

Really makes me wish I Proxy'd up for this!!! @richgang you get yours yet!?

  7. There is no way to get around Customs. Either you get lucky, or you don't. If you want to avoid customs, you could always fly to the shop and wear it when you cross the border back into your home country.

You COULD try and ask the company to lower the value of the item you purchased but chances are, they won't do that due to insurance purposes.

Good lucky getting that tee! I have the T14. One of the best tee's I own!!!

  8. Not to Shanghai this thread but does anyone know what happened to Living Mutants? I should bug the folks at Firmament but it feels like they just disappeared since the season that sweater and a few other pieces were released.
