Seriously, though ... mitigation measures may not be an acceptable solution for everyone, but prevention is the only weapon we have, in the absence of a cure. The success or failure is entirely up to each & everyone of us.  Inaction is like  “the final solution” to the most vulnerable in the population.

As for the mask itself, not the wearing of it,  it does not have to be boring ... like wearing socks, each decide how they wanna rock it ... FCS, we have WAYWT & all these niche threads;)

I'm 100% for masks. I wear them; I encourage others to wear them.

This being said, "Inaction is like "the final solution” to the most vulnerable in the population" is a silly (to be gentle) comment on several levels.

mitigation measure may vary from place to place. i'm 100% not for masks.

Because i've never been/lived in a situation that requires it. it wasn't and never was a norm for us. where i live, we've almost left the pandemic world behind. even at the peak of it, we didn't have any form of recommendation/ compulsory law that forced us to wear one. we did however, have a very early and high level of lockdown and hard border measures for a month or 2 within our own state. that was our mitigation measure and now we're back to normal. even as it stands, the only thing preventing us as a state to go back to 'normal' is the reopening of state and international borders. but at least, within the state, it's business as usual, no restrictions whatsoever.

and it's news to me that masks are mandated all over the world

no it's not. government mandated in some but recommended in most. even where it's not, it's absolutely down to company policies wherever you go rather than a government mandated one.

It's been 6+ months and we still don't have a thread for folks to show off their fancy masks!

don't need masks when you have 0 community spread/cases for the past 6 months.. Perth, probably the safest place on earth right now..

unfortunately, i didn't really follow up on subsequent releases.

But back then, although i can't quite clearly remember the details, i know it was roughly my first foray into sneakers back then. Managed to snagged my from the adidas originals store in Singapore. There was a queue but nothing quite crazy as sneaker releases these days. One detail i remember clearly though, was the guy in front of me got the last micropacer recap, in which there was only 300 numbered pairs i believe..

i still have the first launch back in 2010. think i managed to snag a storm trooper superstar, imperial guard hi top (not sure of the model) and the AT-AT pair as well..

  7. bought this a few months of a mate that used to sell flathead for a living. very lightly worn, guess i'll keep it for a bit before wearing it eventually. there's something about a flathead with a red tab that makes it so good..

@louisbosco I think I will email them! I remember seeing a pair of R400 on reddit that were pretty well faded as well and seemed like a pretty interesting fabric. I think their main site might be my best bet. What has been your experience with sizing?

hmm. sorry, i don't want to give wrong advice as the pair i have was my size about 6-7 years ago, it was a size 28. i would've preferred a 29 or even 30 wearing it only now but i got away with the 28 (barely) so it's not too bad. didn't shrink too much from all the washes i gave it anyway. tighter than usual fit i believe, but manageable..

i'd say you best bet is to measure your best current pair and compare it directly against.

@louisbosco These look awesome. I tried getting either R400 or R425 from Red Cloud, but they were all out of 34’s. Pretty unsure on when they’d restock as well since it doesn’t seem like many stores stock them.

thanks! tbh, i'd flick them an email or message on socials just to check. the 400 are a good pair. different experience with a fabric that has a indigo twisted yarn, produces different fades compared to a normal pair.

i bought mine years ago when the lads at obbigood label started stocking them.. not sure if they're still focus on apparel much given their stronger focus on their leather products recently. i had a look at godspeed out of melbourne, australia which stocks them but it seems they too, are out of stock.
