  1. my nudies (tagged 31) are measured as 33 (I guess they stretched?)

so I deduct 2, for a 31, so I get APC tagged 30? You sure that won't be baggy?

What I thought is that if my nudies are tagged 31 (most of my trousers are 31) then I take off 2 for APC to a 29, then drop one size to a 28?

The last thing I want is dropped $200 on a loose pair of jeans, I'm not looking for skin tight but I want a slim cut.

thanks for all the help btw

measure your true waist and use that as a reference.

For the NS and PS go down 2 tagged sizes from what your true waist is for a slim fit, go down 3 for a tight fit.

For example, I have a 32 inch true waist and wear a tagged 29 PS which fits quite snugly

  2. ^ @dougkyed: I think you´ll be fine. They´ll be tighter than your weird guys of course, but I guess they´ll be pretty close to your slim guys...

    hope that helps

that makes no sense, you must mean tighter than his slim guys and close to the weird guys

  3. PS is the most tapered.

NC is the most skinny overall.

is this true? I thought the NC was more tapered, considering it's tapered so much they can't even keep the exposed selvedge line because the taper cuts through it?

  4. well the other measurements seem to tally with it being a slimmer fit...but that would mean a massive taper on the PS going from a 10.5 thigh to a 6.75 opening...thought it was a straight cut...

no the ps is definitely tapered, not as much as the new cure but its for sure not a straight leg

  5. thanks for the input. now that you have mentioned it, i looked up contextclothing and the thigh measurements on the PS are so much wider than the NS...10.5 on the sz28! that's way too loose even before stretching...

wonder how they derive those measurements.

the measurements at context are well known to be pretty greasy, I wouldnt rely too much on them. The petit standard are a slimmer, more tapered, low rise version of the new standard so it wouldnt make any sense for their measurements to be larger

  6. gah im undecided.

i'm a true waist 29/30, ive been wearing a sz 26 ns for a year and half now, i like the fit from my thighs down, i just don't quite like the high rise on them...

i'm now considering sz 28 ps, would those be too big for me? I like to hang them around my butt region though...

I'd go with the 27, it should stretch enough to sit low, but it really depends how slim of a fit you're looking for.

The waist should stretch to fit with either the 27 or 28, neither would be too big but the 28 would definitely be looser in the thighs

  7. so ,i just bought the chambray skinny guys on plndr.com in sz 30. any experience with them? i fit in sz 30 elephants after wet stretch waist. thights are fine and so are the leg. will they fit the same? i assume the chambrays are easy to stretch because 10oz and raw? will they fade like to a white contrast? thanks

first time ive seen n&f on there, pretty sick deals, I almost bought those chambrays earlier this morning

  8. Thanks man. I'll try but I'm skeptical as I've already tried playing football in them and that didn't make much difference. Plus the rise is near impossible to change.

The rise is hardly going to change at all when you size up, so that probly wont even help it. You do look like you're wearing them really really high up though, is that because you can't get them down any lower? Or just because that's where you like wearing your jeans?

  9. Hey ceej i just saw your fit picture and i think they are great

but i wana see the butt part too (no homo)

just to see how much they stretch and like that!

    haha thanks

and yeah the nc is an all around slimmer cut than the petit, but has a bit wider leg opening that gives a bit of a "flare" to the ankle area. It also has a higher rise than the petit, meaning the distance from the crotch to the top of the waistband is longer.

  10. THANKS!

i guess ill just go petit 29 and wear them haha

oh and as far as stretch, how much do they stretch?

quite frankly, i tried petit 29, and i felt like it already streatched a bit while i was trying them at the fitting room (i didnt buy them tho..) lol

i mean, calves and legopening dont stretch

but thighs and butt parts and waist stretches crazy?

and i ride fixie a lot, im kinda worrie dabout knee stretches too haha

Well i've had my pair of 29's for about 3 months, and they've stretched to about a 34 waist (my true waist is a 32) and they fit great (pics above).

I wear them a bit low on my hips so its perfect. Thighs/butt will stretch until they're comfortable, sitting just off the skin. And I know for a fact that if you ride a lot you should get great fades, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Biking can be hard on the crotch, but don't let that or anything else stop you from wearing them hard

  11. I wear nudies thin finn dry 31, black coated 30

    i wear diesel thanaz 30

i tried 29 petit and i barely buttoned the bottom two

(had hard time buttoning them.. my thumbs hurt lol)

    yeah i liked the fit

but i am not sure whether i should prewash it or just wear them

becuase im not gona just wear petit everyday.

i got some nudies and other jeans to wear so..

i chose APC petit cuz i loved the fitting, not becuz of the fading and wash

but i will eventually get fadings.. and i want it to be like "rvoe30's petit"

    his fadings look great

oh and i dont think i can wear 28 in petit LOL

It sounds like 29 would be the right size then haha.

For the highest contrast fades, you have to wear them a lot, and wash them as little as possible. I would recommend that if you want the crisp fades rvoe30 has going, prewashing would probably do more harm than good.

  12. okay and i have a quite big foot (10.5 ~ 11)

and i tried APC petit 29

everything worked good but the leg opening part (not the calves part)

was somewhat narrow and it makes my feet look bigger lol

should i size up or just stick to 29

For the petit, you usually want to size down 2-3 from your true waist size. ie if your true waist is 31, the 29 will be quite snug, and even snugger if your waist is 32. The jeans will stretch a lot, so when you buy them, you should barely be able to do up the top button, and the thighs should be pretty much skin tight.

As far as the leg opening goes, there is only 1/4 inch difference between the leg opening in the 29 and 30, so sizing up will not really change much. The petit has a pretty tapered lower leg, so if you think the small leg opening looks weird on you, you may want to try a different cut/style of jean.

What kind of style are you looking for? and how big is your waist?

  13. Have anyone washed before start wearing APCs?

im thinking about getting petit and im thinking about wash once to get rid of the rigid.. stiffness of the jeans.

Have anyone done this? or can anyone give me some advices? :)

(i wanted to post this but i had to wait a week for activation bs

    finally!!)

and as far as the prewash goes, apc definitely does not need it as they generally don't shrink as they are sanforized.

The stiffness in the jeans is mostly caused by the starch, so if you washed them they would lose a lot of the stiffness. And since the stiffness of the jeans causes a lot of the sharp, crisp fading you said you want, washing them beforehand would likely be a bad idea.

You need the stiffness for the jeans to crease in that really sharp way, if you washed it the fades would not have as much contrast.

  14. i was wondering

how do you make honey combs and wrinkles like this?

    i mean thin.

cuz i ve seen some other APC petit pictures

and their fadings were really rough and wild

but i really love this one.

did you wash before you start wearing them?

It's not about "making" them dude, you just wear the jeans. The fades happen all by themselves
