the new choices make it so much harder to decide on a fabric option. Before, it was just between 1, 2 and 4 for me, but now 0 and 20 are looking real good too. 0 seems an especially good choice for a summer pair

looks like a pretty good fit, a bit loose in the thighs (but then again its supposed to be a relaxed cut anyways). I think it would be good either way. Where did you get them tapered? I was thinking about getting a pair of 009's as well but the leg opening is a bit big for my liking

I've been trying to figure that out too. Its not either of the hawaii denims or the okinawa denim. I wanted to say its the edo Ai denim, but the selvedge is different. The new #20 denim looks pretty nice too, supposed to be really slubby and like the eternal denim, but sanforized

hey kiya are you getting the IHSH-38 workshirts?

Did anything else come in the sg shipment?

wow!
ok, im new to this brand. is it basically a shop where we can customize the jeans with selvage and rivet types?
Pretty much. I also emailed Gun, he said he can slim down the lower leg or open it up a bit (i think most people will slim it down, basically he'll taper it for you) if you'd rather have a different set of measurements. Its really great for people with big thighs but don't want a repro cut (especially since you can get the sugar cane SC40400 or 40401 denims)

do they take mail in orders?
Gordon told me they did
Here's their website: http://denimdoctor.blogspot.com/
I'd call them to check about prices and turn around time (plus i couldn't find an email, so i guess taht's the only way to contact them)

Both Gordon and Jay (Blue Owl) recommended denim doctors in LA, its somewhat far from LA but that's a bit far from the bay area

when i said on the edge of the back pocket opening, this is what i meant

I think the black tab would look better if it went on the edge of the back pocket opening or on the left side of the right pocket like a tab

denim first choice: 3
second choice: 2

just wondering, which of the denim is most loosely woven? I might be doing a lot of manual labor in a very hot environment over the summer, I'd prefer something really breathable

2 or 3 for the denim. For hte wrangler and lee details, I'd prefer that they be subtle. I like the back pocket compromise.

not too sure about a leepro. would the back pockets be rounded at the bottom like most leepros or would it be like normal Levis style pockets with teh black and gold tab like on the picture from the last page?

I just looked under the pictures of the old deluxe denim and i saw the rope lined, not a big deal for me if its there or not, none of my belt loops have ever broken

Hey guys. I don't think different cuts is an issue, just what ever people want. The Deluxe was $265 so wouldn't want the price getting over that, depending on what denim however, but will work at that price. There are a few leather guys floating around sufu that may want to produce the patches and get a pair of jeans as a contra deal, just a thought. Will get some info on denim soon.
Choices that have to be made:
1: Denim
2: Patch (leather stamped/lined printed?)
3: Selvage fly
4: Selvage belt loops (Rope or leather lined?)
5: Pocket lining (ticking?)
6: Hem's (Rope or leather lined?)
7: Back pocket stitching (Contrast or dark indigo?)
8: Back pockets (Hidden rivets?)
the news about the price and cuts is good to hear
as for the list of choices, this is my opinion:
1. too early to say since we haven't seen it yet
2. any nice design is ok with me
3. not a big deal for me, but would be a nice detail
4. same as the fly
5. Not sure if you're referring to the back pockets or not
6. Not sure what you mean by rope or leather lined
7. dark indigo, fade to reveal
8. yes on the rivets

why don't we just wait until ande announces what he's going to use and if he wants any input from us

Any progress on the straight cut?

Fit pics of the new AI-002
Both cuffed and uncuffed. What are your opinion on these?
I think the cuffs are better
Also, how much have they stretched in the waist and thigh?

self edge can do repairs on those, so can blue owl (there's a selfedge store in ny though so that's probably better than blue owl, which is here in seattle)

Ande said that it has to be either 15 pairs or 30 pairs, and he PMed someone who replied early to get a list of the interested people. If we can get 30 people interested, then there can be 15 more people

How much does the Ai denim stretch in the waist and thighs (also do they shrink anymore from the BiG one wash measurements)

I'm not opposed to the deposit system, but I think a lot of us would want some more concrete details before placing a non-refundable deposit. For instance, some pictures of the denim that will be used, and if the cut is set, or everyone can choose their own? (hopefully the latter). And when the contest will actually get underway.
Agree, would like to know at least denim, cut(s), cost before putting down a deposit

well if you look at the gallery, he's already gotten a bunch of orders. I only wish he offered a zipper fly like kuniyoshi, but i'd be willing to deal with a button fly for the other options he's offering. I'll probably pick up a pair of 0's once its too hot to wear my S710's
