@dawei94 Sure thing. Looks like they’re size 33 (sorry if I wasn’t clear: I knew I had either a 33 or a 34, but didn’t remember which). They’re the pre-washed version, so fully shrunk (& likely to stretch out some in the waist). Plenty of photos linked a page or two ago in this thread. Measurements follow, in cm:

    Waist: 80.6

    Front rise: 30.5

    Rear rise: 41.3

    Thigh (@ crotch seam): 31.1

    Inseam: 85.1

    Hem: 22.9

Unfortunately those are going to be too slim for me, even if I did lose more weight.

@dawei94, any interest in trading the Cane’s for a smaller size? I have some in either 33 or 34, still new in box, & always wanted to try them out

yeah do you have the measurements for both the 33s and 34s? I've always wanted to try them as well, I bought them when I weighed a bit more and had them in storage to bring into rotation, then gained weight and had to get bigger jeans, then lost all that weight and more, so now they're too big...

No, the denim will be fine, I unpicked mine and it’s not noticeable at all.

    Awesome, good to know, thanks

It’s just a tab. If it deteriorates, then wabi-sabi.

The issue wasn't the tab deteriorating (as that wouldn't really be a problem), it was the denim under it potentially having a hole because it's been stitched so many times so close together

  6. Separate question, for anyone who has unpicked the bartack holding down the red tab, has that area worn down faster / prematurely developed a hole? I took my jeans to get tapered and the guy there warned me against removing the bartack because of the potential to develop a hole faster

  7. Got my 1000ZXX in the mail today, does anyone have experience with the shrinking and stretching of the 7.5x7.5 DSB denim? The guidance on the Warehouse site is:

6cm of shrink in the waist

2cm of shrink in the thigh

2cm of shrink in the front rise

4cm of shrink in the rear rise

6-7cm of shrink in the length

1-2cm of shrink in the hem

Curious if people's experiences have lined up with that, and what the subsequent stretch has been

  8. My size 36 1955s are a bit baggy in the hips / thighs, even after a soak. I'm doing a second soak in hotter water, but if it still ends up being too big, anyone interested in buying them? They are unworn, as they have been sitting in a box for the last 6-7 years since I bought them from a Japanese store and I just soaked for the first time yesterday.

The 2955 was MiJ; the 1955 was MiUSA

There were two different versions? I'm talking about the one that came in a box with a reproduction newspaper

Previous denim a was old stock MiUSA, prob. White Oak (?); new denim is MiJ, prob. Nihon Menpu (& I’ve never noticed any difference in construction quality between SC MiUSA and MiJ…)

I thought the old 1955 denim was made in Japan for Sugar Cane as well? It was highlighted as being pretty special (I don't remember the exact wording anymore) in the SEXSC02 collab description, which used the same denim

Yes... they will now be made in Japan (better stitch quality!), will no longer come with the box and 1955 newspaper reproduction, and the zipper is a reproduction made specially for Toyo (as opposed to using deadstock zippers).

Nice, sounds like an upgrade all around. Is it the same denim and they're just bringing it back into production, or a different denim?

  12. 1 hour ago, kiya said:

Yes, definitely!  Those land at all stores in November.

Awesome! Do you know how these compare to the old 1955 model that was discontinued in terms of the denim, details, etc.?

  13. 29 minutes ago, kiya said:

FYI.. guy on the left from Toyo is a literal genius when it comes to pattern making.  He's been Toyo's in-house pattern maker for almost 20 years and his knowledge of fits and sewing details is out of this world.

Will Self Edge be carrying the 1955Z?

It's FW21 release so you have to wait a little bit more. Seems to have a new denim as well.

I've also got the Warehouse 1000ZXX coming soon, so lot of 1955 501ZXX repros coming into the rotation

Sugar Cane announced a new 1955Z version on their Instagram account just now.

So maybe an opportunity to pick them up again.

I was just about to break my deadstock pair out and put them into rotation this weekend...

  16. yeah, it has the tab and arcs. I think they discontinued it when they ran out of the dead stock zippers. It might be worth looking into the Warehouse 1000ZXX that just came out if you're looking for a similar fit with a zipper, that's also a repro of a 50s 501ZXX

@dawei94, I have a pair of US made 55s and I love em. but they are post lawsuit.

Awesome! I don't usually document my jeans that much, but thinking of doing it with this one since it's been discontinued for so long. Glad to hear you're enjoying them

Thanks dawei94 ordered another pair of jeans

Though Junky Style or another store? I'm also looking to order a pair of the 1001XX Heavy Ounce (the 14.5oz Memphis cotton 6x6 denim) as well. Warehouse comes out with awesome jeans faster than I can wear through them...

    That’s exactly what I’m waiting for Dawei94 I haven’t seen them anywhere

Junky Style just got the 1000ZXX DSBs in stock (but I don't think they ship internationally), I imagine the other stores will soon, so if you've been waiting for these like I have, it looks like they'll be imminently available
