  1. Hey, anyone studying photography as a career path? I'm seriously debating whether I should try to transfer into my school's photography program or even dropping out and going to art school to study photography.

Anyways, shot a wedding a while back, here's my fav shot from that set.

  2. $550?? If you can find another at that price, lmk. I'm a buyer all day at that price. The best I've seen thus far have been ~$700 and that's for bodies that have seen better days.

Yea, I pretty much checked fredmiranda for 2 weeks and the body was pretty roughed up.. but at that price, no complaints.

Also, shameless plug for my 500px... add me!

unsure if this is the correct thread to post, if not, please forgive me.

Been looking into entry dslr lately and came across 4 (canon t4i, nikon d3200, 5100 and 7000). If you have another model in mind, feel free to post.

which would you opt to go with, and why? Most would argue any is fine, and it's the lens I should worry about. I'm just trying to consider other's opinions.

    Best,

I would go with a Canon Rebel T2i. Hell of a camera if you can deal without a touch/flip-out screen, in-cam HDR, and some other what I could consider nonessential features. Much cheaper than the T4i and arguably just as good of a camera.

If you are willing to deal with somewhat of a dated camera, the Canon 5D classic is amazing. I recently picked one up for $550... possibly the cheapest full frame camera available right now

  4. here is my philosophy tips for you bro.

    -smaller the camera the better.

-have a friend tag along. a photographer buddy would help lol.

-if you want posed shots of strangers, you must engage with that stranger. approach them and talk a little about yourself. say you are doing a school project or something.

-for candid shots, a mini-telephoto lens might help (but not needed)

-if you are on a budget, just get a fast wide prime (24mm,35mm,50mm) and shoot around. take the picture and smile at them after or say thank you.

-if someone gets mad at you, say you're sorry and delete the picture if they ask.

-know your photographer's rights. don't shoot in malls, security area, little children. or just don't get caught lol.

-always shoot and look at your photos after you come home. don't delete anything ;P.

most of all, have fun bro. if you see something interesting, the closer the better (which is my philosophy) or try experiment with different shooting angles. also, don't worry about blurriness. sometimes, it adds to the picture. hope that helps ;)

    solid advice, thanks.
