  1. I think I figured out the trick to galvanic zipper. Try not holding the zipper pull while you thread it in initially. Hold onto the zipper teeth with your left hand. ymmv

  2. anyone in PDX, I just moved here and went to college in Chicago last year so I don't really know what is good around here. Stumptown is okay (at least I don't have to potentially wait through a Siberian winter for a mocha *cough* Inteligentsia *cough*), but I am looking for something that is a little darker and more...bitter, I guess?

bitterness is a result of overextraction and usually an undesirable trait. I'm all about drinking coffee the way you like it, but i don't think you're gonna get it at the kind of places you listed.

  3. cool, thanks for the responses guys. keep them coming if anyone has any other recommendations. what are those nikes?

also, does anyone use a patch kit on blown tubes? is it a temporary fix or can I patch tubes with tiny holes in them (from glass, etc) and use them long term?

    tia.

patch kits with a tube of glue are definitely long term. the glue is actually a vulcanization compound and is the same way they attach the valve to the tube.

Most of my tubes have 1-3 patches on em.

  4. Alright, Thanks guys.

I'll stick with the IRO, part of the reason I was having doubts prior was because of the aluminum v.s. steel frame, I thought the kilos would have an advantage, especially with longer rides. Hopefully I'll be able to work up to 15 or 20 mile rides with the IRO. I've never had a fixed gear / single speed before, can't wait!

    your bike is steel
