Treated with Montana pitch blend once when new and then worn.  Some areas have gone from rough out to a smooth texture.  They get better every time I wear them.

is it normal for alden's stiching to be coming loose after one month of daily wear? Loose stitching on both shoe. 

It's only normal if you got a crappy pair (which is becoming more and more frequent).  The stitching on mine is still good after 2+ years.  I did have a nail come up through the heel area I had to pull out though.

Got these in just before I have to leave for the airport.

I remember reading somewhere that cat's paw came under ownership of vibram and vibram has licensed the designs to some company in japan, and they're reproducing them. I have no idea how to find that info now, but I do remember reading something along those lines.

I got a time estimate from Bakers on Oct 1 for 8-10 weeks on my pair. Hopefully it won't be much longer than that. I'd like to get them before the end of the year.

You are probably a 10.5 or 11 UK. I wear 11.5 in allen edmonds, 11 in alden indy and white's semi-dress, and 10.5 UK in grenson.
