  1. @Zubes, it was a vague reference to how Tito was the shit back then, helping to cement UFC as a household name, and that even now he still has the ability to self-promote and attract fans. Did you fucking SEE that grave-digging after he wrecked Bader? The intensity and raw emotion was bone-chilling.

editor's note: I don't think he'll ever hold a belt again, nor do I think he'll beat much more significant fighters aside from Rashad (maybe..), but I do think he's done enough to damn well choose when or when he doesn't want to be relevant in MMA anymore. The guy gets a bad rap because of his acceptance as the heel, but dudes a normal/kind guy irl, not unlike Diaz.

  2. Fedor and Gomi.... fuck. These two fighters thrived too much on their "sloppy" yet effective styles in PRIDE, that at this point, even if they tried to slightly "refine" their approach, it would be too late/foreign for them.

@Zubin, back of the head shots were the ones that woke Fedor up =/

  3. "At the heart of Nietzsche's philosophy is a simple idea, difficulty is normal. We shouldn't panic or give up when we experience it. We feel pain because of the gap between who we are at the moment, and the person we could ideally be. It's because we can't master the ingredients of happiness straight away, that we suffer as much as we do."

  4. Just recognized the magnitude of this fight. More so on a personal level than in terms of relevance in the MMA scene.

From the limited amount of training footage I've seen, I'm hoping/expecting Fedor to utilized a lot tighter boxing with plenty of straight rights. Hopefully some low-kicks to goad Hendo into overhand rights, and appropriate counters for when he does.

Won't be 100% disappointed though if Hendo wins, seeing as he's from a relatively unknown city which I'm from as well.

  5. A strong believing, practicing Mormon? Not a weak reason imo. Religion (typically) is a crucial and very large source of one's ideals, way of living, and I'd like to think, a clear indicator and what kind of person he/she is.

Unless you're just a Mormon "by name". In which case that bitch is trippin.

  6. This doesn't seem like a "fuck you" letter, but a "here's everything I never said, that I'm saying now, so fall back in love with me"... letter.

I don't know how many people have to blatantly tell you not to drop this letter off... but DON'T DROP IT OFF.

Wait around a week, gather your thoughts as to make sure they aren't needy and stupid, then call her up for a cup of coffee to talk things over. There, you can calmly express your feelings in a reasonable manner, instead of thrusting a 5 pages of heart-broken ramblings that you wrote when you felt overly secure in your own house and thoughts.

    or don't, w/e.

  7. I woke up in the middle of the night, in a drunken stupor, thirsty as fuck. So I grab a random cup and fill it with water and proceed to down everything, only to find a funky after-taste. Without second guessing it, I go back to sleep. I wake up this morning and I look inside the cup and see rings of old milk residue that have been loosened by the water and are now floating around ever so disgustingly in the same cup.

  8. Wrestling is getting less focus because fighters like Anderson, Jones, and Cain, JDS, Guillard are wrecking their opponents without having to go to the ground. Fact is, they either have 1) sufficient takedown defense, 2) they're fighting good, not great wrestlers, or 3) they themselves are great wrestlers. The common link being that they would all be fucked without wrestling. A fact that Anderson nearly proved in his last fight with Chael.

But I do think Percy has a point in that there are more ways for one to attack with their limbs than there are to take someone down. Wrestling has a higher chance of becoming nullified from fighters learning awesome TDD. As opposed to striking where it's harder to defend against a highly skilled striker throwing a 3 punch combo then leg kicks, or so I believe.
