Any kind souls here could enlighten me on the sizing on RRL jeans? I've tried to do my own research and the only result is contradictions everywhere re: the tag vs true waist size.

This is regarding RRL's normal rise slim fit jeans...

1. first up is an indigo Studio D'artisan Jacket D4157, tag says size 40, which is a M, lots of nice small details on the buttons, the stitching and pocket flaps, very good condition 9.9/10, no rips tears etc etc

3. thirdly is a Dior black washed in size 33, intense wash fades and super long inseam (39') unaltered of course, im not sure what season this was but definitely Hedi's. Crotch repair and 1-2 holes around the right back pocket and some in the ankle combs, awesome vintage look.
