  1. I've been caught in heavy rain. My DWR is a little worn so it wets out a little around the shoulders but it kept me pretty dry still. Generally I'd treat anything made in that WS fabric as non-seam taped Hard Shell.

  2. @analog29 despite how thin it is, the GT fabric is actually quite durable. If there is anything that will fail first, it's the seams. So as long as you are mindful of not stressing the seams too much you can be quite rough with the fabric and it'll hold. Just loosely fold the jacket behind the stow pocket then fold the pocket over. With enough practice you can do it without needing the lay the jacket flat; while waking even.

  3. Yea but i don't understand why the pants aren't properly drawstring and why he has used such a flimsy fabric for the cord. Makes no sense. I tried just tying the cord but I don't think they gonna hold up to much wear at all.

Cord fabric is thin but it's not flimsy. It will hold.

  4. Can anyone write review about foil in third arm? Difference between foil and laminat

    Aesthetics aside:

    Foil: thinner, lighter, noisier.

    Laminate: thicker, heavier, quieter

Please note that the 6TS Foil uses a different type. I have no experience with it, but from the photos it seems thicker/more durable.

  5. Hi I'm looking to get a S8-C for the hot spring summer in southern cali. It says to size down 1. I normally get medium tops from acronym (I'm 5'9 150lbs) and they're pretty good. They are out of larges so would medium be okay?

    I wear my S8-C TTS.

I was told that Errolson and Lenny also wear theirs TTS and not sized up like in the promos.

  6. I would say I'm normally a XL from the items I owned/tried on but usually it's a baggy fit. I was thinking the j1a measurements were much bigger than most my jackets. I wish I had one to try on haha. Good point on the insulator. I guess I can stick tts. Thanks!

The remastered J1AGT has some real sleight of hand pattern making; it's a big enough jacket to accommodate an insulator comfortably but it's not baggy. Study the fits on the promo pics and you'll get an idea; compare especially the fit with and without insulator.

  7. FWIW: I don't know about the P23s, but on P13s, the cuffs would bind up on my calves doing an Iaido class. I am by far not a fat guy at all (6'1, 174ish lbs).

Are the 23s stitched up as tight as the 13s?

No the P23s are looser and the parts that bind are elastic HD Jersey (also water resistant FYI). If you do extreme range of movements though the pant cuffs will ride up and remain high; which in this state no articulation is hindered.

  8. Unless you have a very specific aesthetic preference on how a wide dropcrotch pant should fit, functionally, it is best to buy TTS for the P23TS. Fit for length not so much for width as it should accommodate the thickest of thighs and waistlines (within spec). Check your height against ACR's fit models. FYI: Errolson is 183 cm. Sizing down on the P23TS will restrict range of articulation due to the elastic cuffs resisting the pant to move up and slide over your legs as you get into the more extreme ranges. While it would still be possible to power through the move and break the elastic grip, it would be suboptimal and somewhat defeats the DFMA (Designed For Martial Arts) cut of the pant.

  9. Daniel love the mods! Especially the extra shoulder strap. I would personally put a plastic buckle on that strap though if you haven't already, so that it can go from backpack carry mode to messenger access mode instantly.

  10. Thanks for the tip;)

is that means that with the help of Velcro people could wear j29a like usual one-piece Acr jacket without too much effort?

Being considering taking it as my first GT jacket, and olive green is fine to my also.

It's a little bit more effort than a regular 1 piece jacket, but not enough to be an issue for me. Surprisingly, it's actually easier to smooth the inner layer you are wearing when putting on the jacket because of the sleeve design. Just be aware that it's a very slim profile cut jacket.

  11. Could you please check that link for us danii? Doesn't seem to work (potentially the account it private).

I really wish it wasn't the metal zip. I really wish it was camlocked and WR. But what can you do? There's only 1 version and that's the zip it has. If there was another on the market with a better zip I'd be all over it but what options do you have.

I've handled the gaiter and it is remarkable in its design and execution. The multiple ways of wearing the gaiter is possible because of that very same heavy metal zipper; whose weight holds it in place when worn as a shawl-like collar. A design this pure and simple is something all designers aspire to but seldom reach.

  12. Considering my first acr bags set, LAMINAT 3a-1 to work with interlop jackets as daily use or biking bag, maybe. Choosing 3a-6ts as a business trip bag (up to 6 days, might be tough weather for there might be the solar enegy stations in highland China). Having the experience with the codura materials messanger bag before, light and tough, and goes fuzzy with time. Anyone has the expericen with the foil material? from description,it might be Freitag alike material from the trucks covering cloth? and, bit confusing, can a 6ts work in bagpack (rotation 90°,see this way of usage in 5ts) . Cheers!

The Foil material is nothing like Freitag's tarp. It is X-PAC competition sailcloth derived. These bags are nothing like the usual cordura messengers bags where it might be durable but not luxurious. All Acronym bags are not only functional but pleasurably tactile. They stand up to abuse and get better with age.

  13. Anybody of you use their 6TS on a bike actually?

I've got it to replace one of my old messenger bags, that is slowly falling apart, but it seems like the bag wasn't really made to actually be used as such. Just the fact, that you can't seem to fasten the strap (maybe I'm just too stupid?) with one hand is a major turnoff.

Why can't you fasten the strap with one hand? Are you talking about the stabilizer strap? Yes the messenger bags were tested on actual messengers.

  14. Yup, looks about right to me if you are basing it off Errolson's fit pics. You'll have less fabric bunching up on your ankles if you wear the pants higher up on your waist. But I do like it to hang low on the waist myself. Really comfy that way.

  15. Can't decide between the A or normal version, Internet please think for me and help me choose

Depending on your application. Do you want a regular pant or cargo pant? Personally I chose the A ver.; I prefer the look and practicality.

  16. Ok this is a pretty rare one:
