I have one of those '40s Woolrich plaid jackets too, and I really like it. Good cut and very well made. Better than the LVC mackinaw, probably.
With the LVC jacket it's more about the design and the cut, which is more of a '20s style. Also the history of the brand and, let's face it, the exclusivity is appealing to, I imagine, most of us. Certainly for me, I freely admit.
And the draw of collecting.
It is a different cut compared to most similar modern jackets. Probably hard to pull off, as the chest is tightly fitted and the waist cinched in, while the bottom bells out. Also a bit itchy. I have a previous version of this jacket and have yet to wear it out, but it's one that I particularly like, visually, from the LVC collections.

Roy Slaper and I are separate entities and not related in any genetic or legal way . Just a shared nickname.
For the record, Roy is my actual middle name, while Fauntleroy Slaper's is an abbreviation.

you're probably right, after staring at it for minutes i can hear the grass whispering.
as i am an amateur with all that green/vegetable crap and i dont want to hurt your feelings,it would be better to listen to the opinion of an expert.calling roy6 here.(he destroyed my backyard with his mental power last summer)
My mental power plus the minions are energetic, aren't they.
Also, you didn't weed, water, rake, fertilize, mulch etc.

Roy6... you're just trying to get me to take come visit and take my pants off, aren't you? Please, I know that one already - I wasn't born yesterday!
For real though, I'm hoping to pop up to SF in not too long, and I'd love to have ROY give 'em some TLC if he's willing!
What! Why you presumptuous little... er, I mean YES! Yes I do just want to get those pants off of you, for reasons which of course have nothing to do with the pants, so you don't have to worry about it when I tuck them over here, on this low table- totally out of Gunther's reach of course! And we go into the other room.
What? No, of course not. Gunther is a very, very good Rottweiler and he would never do anything of the sort to your jeans. In fact, when you sent that bandana from Uganda I had him sniff it thoroughly and gave him a little bit of very specific training so that he would never, ever tear anything to jaggedly irrepairable shreds that smells even remotely like you.
Ha ha! No, he was not trying to tear off your rear pockets when you came in just now, he was just glad to see you, as am I.
Here, let me rub that for you so you can relax and not listen to the heart-breaking ripping noises coming from the other room. Gunther sometimes paws gently at the couch corner, nothing to worry about at all.

^Those look like the winners, dkatz!
Why don't you come up for a visit and ROY can patch them up while you're here. I could even take them over for you, I am sure it's highly unlikely I would loose them in a trash can somewhere or that they would accidentally fly out of my car window on the freeway.

roy6 so you always get dibs on seeing what new stuff he makes. what's the story with the shirt in that picture and also, i remember he made you a shirt a while back, how is that holding up? any word on what mr slaper has up his sleeve (or down his pants) next?
That shirt is mine, I brought it in for him to see how it's wearing, I've had it for about six months, but between some recent hot weather and vacation, it's had about four months of five-day-a-week wear and is holding up well. The natural indigo is fading in an interesting way and is developing a faint green tinge in places.
He's working on some indigo duck slacks for his next thing, the one's he's wearing in my shots is a prototype.
He also has been rethinking the prize for this contest, and may shortly have something new and interesting to propose as a prize in lieu of the boxers.

Really nice selection, silencejoe. The A-1 is particularly interesting looking...
A protoype jacket Aero made for LVC around 2003. Crazy grain. I think it is buffalo hide.

^Since you never have anything bad to say about anybody else and have a self-deprecating sense of humor, I am guessing you did?

excuse the low quality pics
Horizontal deepthroat. Honestly, could this look more homo?Nice to see homophobia is accepted on the thread without even a flicker of protest from the rest of you. Come on guys, we're not all small minded idiots are we?Not exactly an example of Vulcan logic, fatheead. Shoreman's supposition is that the post at chungster's head resembles a large cock going into his mouth, and looks therefore homo. The implication being that homos like big cocks going into their mouths, which point I seem to be failing to muster any energy to argue against.
I don't see how this would be homophobic unless one felt that being associated with big cocks or deepthroating one was somehow negative, which Shoreman did not stipulate.
In fact, he sounded admiring to me.

So what's going on there? A high buttoned undershirt in a polka dot? A scarf with something which just looks like a button attached to it? An old west dickie?
oh yeah...what's the cost of the "Native American" henley at the SF store?$125.
$755 for a pair of pre-worn jeans that look.... fake.I saw that the other day, and the first thing I thought is "That isn't going to sell."
Really a poor wash, and you can find practically new surperiorly washed early models on the bay for less than $100.
But maybe its worth an extra $600+ for some people to have this season?
