  1. I was thinking of following in the footsteps of a number of celebrities and having a hair transplant. Initially I was going to use hair from the back of my head like everyone else but the possibility of replacing my thinning thatch with a new denim barnet is becoming more appealing.

Consider the possibilities: left hand or right hand parting - yesterday's news! I'm thinking left hand or right hand twill!

First there's the cotton - long or short staple? Smooth and sleek Zimbabwe or rough, slubby Texas?

Then there's the colour. I could go for 30xdipped hank dyed natural indigo or a more wallet friendly synthetic indigo (with no sulphur base). How about a dramatic jet black, although sometimes that's too obvious for a man of my maturity.

Stylewise, I could leave my "sushi ears" exposed or cover them up; I could have a taper towards the back and top it all with a Union Special combstitch.

This could give a new meaning to the term "denim head" although I'd have to keep out of the rain for a while as I'm still too young for a "blue rinse".

    What do you think?

  2. Just got my s5000vx in mail (US bought) and was surprised (pleasantly) to see them with tabs and arcs. I thought Samurai sold at U.S. retailers could no longer have these features. What legal loophole am I missing here?

    Sssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh............... ;)

  3. Exactly the same model as yours, linen patch and hidden rivets, same size - 32. They were the original prototypes, afterwards they produced the models with a leather patch and Lee-style rivets (exposed on the back pockets).

  4. I find inseam measurement can be subjective as it can vary depending on who's doing the measuring - is the leg straight/is it to the first seam of the crotch or the second/is the tape measure taut, etc - I find the safest way, when having jeans hemmed (as a customer) is to measure them myself, then state how much I want removed. That way there isnt really room for error.
