  1. How about wearing the fabric when slightly damp and then setting the creases in that way? I think starching jeans is going to harm the fabric by making it too brittle and prone to cracking.

Sometimes it just takes longer to set in the creases on a particular pair of jeans...

Yeah did that when I got them out, lap creases seem to be a non exsistent, buy from thigh down no problem which is odd.

@bf yes, I remember reading everyone starching their jawnz back in the day, I would use to do it for my stacks post soaks.

  2. Guess I should have said for OW denim. Unsanf is unnecessary and I do agree about the softening up over time, really love that about my fullcounts. Soft as pajamas at their stage.

But my d1672 ow denim is quite flat, and has zero rigidity. Especially after their first wash. Not that I am concerned with sick fades, but do like the satisfaction of seeing creases, and this denim isn't able to do that.

  3. I shot Denimio an email and they said they can't order any jeans without the gulls, so I guess it's proxy or nothing for me!

Damn, I feel yeah on gulls. Don't see any respectable people wearing gulled evisu and seems to be associated with wanna be rappers and the like.

  4. Exactly what chicote said. My d1672 look like three completely different jeans uncuffed, cuffed and double cuffed. All depends on the footwear. Granted they're a bit slimmer than the 103. This is coming from a dude who was into the whole size down 3 apc ps.

  5. Holy shit chicote way to make me feel stupid 😮

I will say I use to be a firm believer in /r/ but over time I got sick of all the mostlyshitty posts. 90% of the brands represented there have zero interest to me, posts are always low quality, and the useless banner that took over the general discussion is just embarrassing.

I tried to contribute good stuff, whether it be write ups on brands, world tours, or even starting the 3sixteen contest. But in the end still just sane old same old though

  6. so true. i'm beginning to realize that there's about 20 IG users who just circlejerk emojis onto each others' daily "buy it for life" pics, and it's always those damn fires and bullseyes

Yeah, I really don't get it. Doesn't add anything.

im sorry but john lofgren accused me of something thats not true. anyways  i still think that ishmael is fucking lofgren in the ass or the other way around... im sorry just had to say this.

    Spill the beans

  7. Was recently in blue owl and they carry the standards from sda, Kevin did mention they wanted to bring in d1672 but just didn't want to take the risk. I do notice that big always has the limited runs on for 50% off at some point, so I'm not sure they do extremely well there either.

  8. From my perspective, the discussion about reddit and DB only really highlights the way in which social media related to raw denim has diversified a great deal over the last five years. Take a look back at Sufu in 2009-10 and there was a much greater mix in terms of active members: on any given weekend, WAYWT would feature everything from visvim-wearing types to miner chic. You'd have threads of Paul T and Ring Ring dropping knowledge on vintage shuttle looms and then teenagers asking about sizing down two on PBJ-005.

Since then, boards have sprung up that cater for more specific tastes. DB, as Maynard points out, was formed as a result to Sufu c.2011 which got a bit out of hand and is therefore protective of its character. There's the Iron Heart forum, which is largely brand-specific but attracts a particular crowd that is different from on here. Younger kids who have not grown up with the original message board era tend to gravitate towards reddit, and then of course there's Instagram with all its personal brand-building and spam comments of ''Like it!''. I'm a regular reader of other boards and an occasional IG user but I still come back to Sufu because these days there's a good crew of regular posters, interest in the brands I like, good conversation, and no posers!

There's space for everyone online although I do miss the earlier, more active Sufu.

I do like instagram for denim, but holy Fuck I hate people who comment on my photos with emojis or like it or general bullshit like that. Going to start deleting comments that resemble that from now on.

But I agree with what you said, all the seperate boards keep people with their like. Reddit helps keep all the stupid questions in one place which I am thankful for.I remember every thread back in 09-10 would be full of people saying if I wear this in this what would I be in this.
