  1. i did an initial soak as I sized it that way.. unless you're never going to wash your jeans, you'll run the risk of having your inseam shrinking and everything going out of place..

Swissjeansfreak never washes his jeans and if you can see that he gets amazing results..

bottom line, if you plan to wash it in the future, do the soak.. if not, you can just wear it hard

Don't pay too much attention to the soak/wash, it doesn't affect your fades as much as you think it does (unless you wash every 2~3 days)..

  2. I was in four continents this Feb, HKG (Asia), YYZ (North America), FRA (EU) and SCL/EZE (South America)

here are some pictures from my SCL trip, mostly food...

I had Chilean Wagyu Beef Steak Cube Roll Cut for two days in a row, for only $47CAD, it's amazing

on a BMS (Beef Marbling Scale), this steak scores around a 7 (max is 12, high grade North American steak scores @ around 5).. level 9 are usually exported outside of Chile due to the lack of domestic demand.

Cow is fed with grass/corn mixed with alcohol and other grains. It is allowed to free roam around the pastures in the Andes area. Though Chilean Wagyu beef rivals its Australian counterparts, it still doesn't reach the level on Japanese Wagyu though.

But for the price, I would take a piece of Chilean Wagyu every damn day.

The first few are from a very well known steak house called the ox and I had the Chilean Prime Rib. The next are from Cuerovaca, where I had my Wagyu. It was a nice trip with lots of drinking and eating.

  3. e-p2's body is better than gf1, lumix lens are better though

agreed, I personally have opted for the E-PL1 over the GF1 when I was shooting M43 because Oly has better jpg color rendition and have in body IS... it worked better for primes and lenses without IS such as the 20 1.7

  4. Desperately need a P/S for a project and I need an all purpose camera anyway so I don't mind spending around $500. What are my best options? So far I'm considering the Canon S95/S100, Panasonic GF1, or Fuji X10.Any new models coming up soon to consider?

Trying to debate whether or not the upgrade to S100 is worth the extra $100. Also I'm not sure how the two Canons compare to the GF1 or X10 either but both of those look like solid options with the sacrifice of a little bit of portability. Any advice?

strictly talking Image Quality and low light capabilities: GF1 > X10 > S95/100

GF1 w/ 20mm 1.7 will be the best option out of the three

I would actually take the X10 over the GF1 w/ 14-45... but that's just me..

  6. Yea Great pair Ah long! Just woundering how your patch can be so light and not beat up att all?

always have a belt, so I guess the belt took all the abuse..

funny how you mention it, cause the rayon contest patch beside the leather patch got quite dirty and the washes doesn't seem to restore it back to white

  7. what the hell do you do in those jeans ah_long? they get so much definition.

not much, just some handy work here and there on the house/boat/car/other little projects. I don't have an office job so I almost wear them daily.

I did hold off the first wash though, I think that helped a lot.

  8. all people care about is the 'x' on the zoom, they don't really look at the focal lengths..

here are two pictures I took with my new X100.. there's a love and hate relationship with this camera.. the menu interface is one of the worst I've used (who da fuck buries auto ISO deep into the settings menu and not put it at the ISO menu, the camera also don't remember minute adjustments to the aperture and shutter if you want to do manual exposure)..

the camera does take nice pictures tho

  9. Two very different animals. Fixed lens vs zoom, large compact sensor vs APS-sized, Hybrid viewfinder vs. optical-only (and then somewhat less useful than the OVF in the X100).

The X10 didn't interest me - in a compact, I'd rather have something like the GRD4 (fixed, fast lens, small package). I'm very fond of my X100, even with its shortcomings (slow, slow operation without a UHS-1 card, slow AF), because it's as close to using my Hexar AF or Leica M4 as I've come in the digital realm.

the X10 and GRD IV has too small of a sensor... Canon got the right sensor in the G1X, but put the wrong lens...

now if we can have the lens on LX3 and the sensor on G1X in a decent sized package then we have a winner..
