On a crop-sensor my first lens would be the 17-55 2.8 IS.
Wide constant aperture, 3 stops stabilization, nice every-day zoom! Downsides are weight and the fact that it has an L-level price without the build quality.

Looking to get PS with a slim but not skin-tight fit, usually wear 32 in levi 511. Waist is 33-34ish where I plan to wear them, but my thighs are a bit big at 22".I heard they stretch a lot, will they stretch to be no longer slim if I get PS in 31?
for what it's worth, I wear a 31 in 511 and a 28 in PS. Both are done stretching and the size and fit are very close.
I'm 5'11", 143lbs. I don't know my thigh measurement but it's probably pretty thin.

can someone help me identify this font for me?
i tried using whatthefont from a crop picture i made but no dice.
Did you identify this font? I'm actually curious myself because it's the same one used in this music video:

I have a trick bike
Running 42 x 17 (165mm sugino rd with 700c rims with 32 tires).
It just doesn't feel right.
I'm as strong as a 12 year old boy who hasn't even hit puberty.
What's a good tricking ratio for a weak ass motherfucker like me?
I know almost nothing about fixed tricks but I thought I saw videos of dudes using 1:1 ratios

Edit: damnit another question, what differentiates between say a single speed chain and a 10 spd chain? is it just the length they sell you?
multi-speed chains are designed to derail more easily (for shifting obviously), and I think they allow for the chainline to be more crooked.
sounds like it might cause the chain to fall off more often, but with a good chainline and proper tension, it doesn't matter. I've been using multispeed chains on my fixies for years and have not once had a problem

hah, yeah the first time they showed the exterior shot of the snow bunker with the guards, i could hear like 10 people in the theater say "metal gear!" or "shadow moses!"

Finally picked up the Archival Clothing Rucksack:
I can honestly say it's the nicest thing I've ever owned. beautiful, and supremely functional. Being handmade in Oregon and individually numbered is awesome too.
Read more about it here (if you haven't already): http://www.archivalclothing.com/2010/05/archival-update-rucksacks-available.html

I've been looking for a card case - so glad I found you!
Have you ever done the FH-style case in twotone? I can't decide if it would look good - thinking about Natural with a Black pocket or two...

a little warning on the snx427:
i've had mine for a little over a year and the little glow in the dark dots on the minute markers have started falling off. theyre now stuck in random places on the face.
I otherwise love the look and it's been running strong of course!

My grandmother gave me this bag. I guess she bought it in the 80s and never used it.
Anyone ever hear of Golden Bear?

does anyone know how PS sizing/stretching compares to the NC? I have NC in size 30...what size PS would you recommend?

that is very debatable. Grado's and some "lower end" headphones do not require a amp. I would rather invest on a better source, or a external DAC/AMP like the NuForce uDAC which will be a better option.
this is true. very little point in getting a nice headphone amp and connecting it to the crappy output of your ipod or laptop

I've been a little out of touch with this thread, but has anyone mentioned that Fjallraven now has an online store for the US?
pretty cool to check out the USD pricing

yes...................
thanks - that is great news! Is there someplace I can find more information? Where/when will it be exactly?

I have both a Kasson and a Greenland. The Greenland is by far the better of the two. If you want a lined one, get the Winter Greenland which is fleece lined: http://www.fjallraven.com/Produkter/jackor--vastar/greenland-winter-jacket as opposed to the standard Greenland which is unlined: http://www.fjallraven.com/Produkter/jackor--vastar/greenland-jacket
thanks for the help! i think i'm going to go for the classic greenland.
How is the sizing on these? I'm tempted to order an XS but i'm worried about the sleeves being too short (i'm 5'10" 140lbs). I want a slimmer fit but, hey, its gotta keep the rain out too!

Penfield Kasson vs Fjallraven Greenland...
Anyone have experience with these? Are they similar or does the lining in the Penfield make a huge difference? How does the outer material compare? Fit?
I really like all the colors too - wish i could pick up both.

Billykirk now has a small diffusion line they are doing. Urban Outfitters carries it here.

I've had the same pair of shure in-ears for about 4 years, love them.
The triple-flange are the ONLY tips worth trying.
