Anybody have any recommendations of their favourite lens filter for a Nikon D40?

I've seen video cameras with shooting glasses that make everything look fuzzy and warm... anything for a Nikon like that?

i bought a tagged 28/30 that was measured to be around a 26. Smallest I could find and hopefully it'll shrink.

What should I soak these in? Is a bathtub alright or would it stain?
