  1. putting beginners down using your audience to prop yourself up is a wack trait in general .. i don't encourage this to anyone.

moreso when one claims to be a community ambassador (and design is outlier?? ;)

i like seein peoples development of designs IMO, and all the diy ninjas in here started by taking on an existing design.  Facts.

Supreme "hypebeast/douches from the early 2000s" are relatively tame to those that just jumped on the Sup bandwagon within the past three or so years.

Hahahaha.  I was going a bit easy on them :)

Yes their customers in the past few years, would do things such as say , ask one to pay their custom duties ? :unsure::blink:

Its even been commonplace now for them to report and de-legitimize items that they simply don't like prices for.  I've seen multiple Sup sellers with authentic tagged grail items, get banned after fuckboys wrongly slander the bottom of the thread with  "fake, fake , fake, bad embroidery, etc.)

I dread the day that this happens to ACR...hopefully the hype will cool off after these AF1's...

  3. Anyone think ACR buyers on Grailed and the Facebook ACR thread are way too reminiscent of Supreme hypebeasts/ douches in the early 2000's?  So much ignorance with little knowledge or background whatsoever for any items, and little respect for sellers.  They treat every sales post like its a FAQ and just literally toss offers out like darts on a dartboard.

It's pretty sad, and is a huge turnoff compared to being the ACR community a couple years back.  These prestos really changed the dynamic, heavily.

I guess thats what happens to most brands eventually, if they decide to either mass produce, or collaborate with giants like Nike.

Call me naive but I feel like we bond over this shared obsession. People are generally good to deal with on superfuture and I will generally be nicer to people on here rather than other selling platforms.

I'm almost always more compromising on here unless someone goes the self righteous route many many times. Mutual bond.

Here is a wild idea that I find highly plausible ---- In maybe 4 years or less, ultimately I think even those of us doing pretty well in life (besides the cream of the crop financially), will not be able to afford or appreciate ACR garments.

Like you said, the prolific buying and selling of goods by those in the community dictates price-- and I think contributes at least in very small part to ACR's insane price hikes -- those price hikes are far greater than inflation or just errolsons rising stock.  It is also well known that errolson or his associates keep tabs on sufu every once and again, and probably see grailed as well...

I refuse to be a part of this cycle -- and I hope I am wrong

  6. it's pretty much the very same 30seconds that will take you PM the person and ask about off-grailed sale. I bet they will be happier and you might get the item at more sufu-fam friendly price.

** Beware Danii -- just a heads up that grailed moderators constantly scan buyers/sellers messages and ban heavily for any sign of off-grailed sales.

I've been off topic, my B moderators.

    Cheers yall.

  7. Just because things are listed for these "high" prices doesn't mean that's the price that any of them are being actually sold at... grailed sucks to sell at and the high prices bring interested parties into a conversation, it's not an auction. There are many desirable pieces that people have listed for 3x and they simply have not moved because the sellers don't understand that's how this community frequently operates. Many things are sold or traded and are never posted anywhere ;)

I fully understand the point your making, however it seems your supporting my view--

You say these sellers do not actually sell at these high prices, but just want to start a conversation.  If this was the case, the acronym community sales thread would be a perfect place to do it... Trusted members, people who are clearly enthusiasts,  are knowledgable of ACR gear, and references to back up their offers.   This would actually be far easier and streamlined compared to grailed, because you already know who the interested parties are, and you know they are good for the $.

So what are the advantages of posting on grailed for sellers? It is actually a pretty decent pain in the arse to list on grailed (lowballers, 6% fee). The only single benefit is a larger audience, and possibly higher profit margins -- For those buyers who are not connected those in the ACR community, it is the only place to find grail ACR pieces, in which they will inevitable pay that tax to acquire goods they otherwise, wouldnt.

  8. True-- I should have been more diplomatic

    A more poignant, concise explanation

Seems that the increase in Acronym resale prices (and the prevalence of extremely overpriced ACR used goods)

are perpetuated by respected individuals in the Acronym community.  You would think that the enthusiasts

who are in the community would want to keep Acronym prices plateau'd  -- especially in the scenario we are in now,

in which ACR is raising prices by significant margins per year, to the point that large % of original enthusiasts and fanbase

are gone or simply cannot afford these garments any longer.  Many whom I've purchased from in this thread (enthusiasts for 5-15 years)  have brought these concerns

to light in conversation as well.

So essentially, the notion that the primary poster of ACR gear on instagram/other social media platforms has exorbitant prices,

it sets the precedent for people selling used Acronym.  And as Errolson sees that the resale value for his old items

are going up at seemingly exponential levels, his own retail pricing margins are effected.

I understand people are trying to maximize profits -- so more power to them I guess..

    Edit : HAPPY THANKSGIVING, YALL  :)  :)

  9. you guys need to stop taking it personally. grailed is the worst place to list and solicit offers.

Seems like both parties have good points.

--Grailed fuckin' sucks to list on, because 99.9 % of offers are lowballs.  So therefore everyone jacks up the initial price.

-- Also pretty surprised to see yall shitting on this dude, when others in your circle like ACRHive has had some ruthless prices.

$6.5 K for the J45M-BW on grailed?   LOL or do you not recall those pedo-rape prices...

  12. oh the white helvetica print on black shirt, sorry forgot about those.

I guess I already humiliated the 1000shame enough today and feel kinda sorry. It could look like that I envy him the likes, the hype and the sales, but I really don't. I just don't want people to defend anyone who does not deserve it. I have been on my own full time gig as well and I know that one has to do even stuff he does not like to pay the bills, but faking is not really worth it. We all can agree he has some sewing skills but designwise he still has a lot to work on, shame that he is full time giging it and all he came out with was stupid version of plate carrier, copy of a keychain and a copy of a pouch. Belts were before he quit his two jobs. Not everyone can be a designer.

Gonna have to agree wholeheartedly after reading those IG posts back and forth.

Its one thing to customize your gear from a project/ art standpoint because you are a legitimate enthusiast of Acronyms gear -- its a whole another level to have the intent to sell their designs.  This is the equivalent of plagiarism in published writing, or pirating an engineer's design and taking full credit for it.  Hopefully he has some OG designs that will change our minds a bit?

I noticed every time 1K created an acronym copy (fidlock keychain 3a-wk3, 3a-mp2ts) he posted quickly on insta and then immediately

deleted it after an hour or so. Very much a premeditated decision.  Is he doing bodily harm to any other? No.  Is he knowingly and willingly making money off someone else's authentic designs (diluting the market, decreasing items value)? Yes.

Anywho, I'm assuming several modulars will release in oct, yes? So much tec sys in the first drop!
