  1. It was very painful indeed. They're still quite restricting and depending on my weight (since it tends to fluctuate) some days they fit better than others.

I think it was worth it though, I love them :)

  2. Rachels in synthetic indigo, about 2 months of wear. I sized down 1 (couldn't even pull them up all the way or get them buttoned at first) and they've stretched nicely. I also have these in the veggie wash, but they're 2 sizes bigger and don't fit quite as well. I'll have to take updated pics of those at some point :) (my apologies for the giant pics! I resized but they're still huge )

  3. Puerto Rico corpse kept upright for 3-day wake

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - A Puerto Rican man has been granted his wish to remain standing—even in death. A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake.

Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother's living room.

His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper the victim had long said he wanted to be upright for his own wake: "He wanted to be happy, standing."

The owner of the Marin Funeral Home, Damaris Marin, told The Associated Press the mother asked him to fulfill her dead son's last wish.

Pantoja was found dead Friday underneath a bridge in San Juan and buried Monday. Police are investigating.

GAH! That is freaky! Especially the second picture of his brother kissing his cheek

Dead guy in the corner..... *shudders*

  4. ^both my pairs do the opposite of each other - I feel like my synthetic indigos make me look smaller than I really am but, they are tight tight tight so that's probably why lol. I sized down 1 for them and they stretched perfectly.

My veggie wash rachels are a size bigger than I normally wear, and that pair actually makes me feel like I look thick because they're not as tight as they could be. And they aren't as narrow through the calves for some reason, probably because of the bigger size. I absolutely love the color of that wash though.

The thicker denim did take some getting used to, that's for sure.

  5. That button was definitely a PIA at first, but once they've been buttoned a few times it's not such a problem. That was definitely unique to S&S and the yoke too!

Will the rise be any higher in the back? That's probably my only complaint. And what's the pricing going to be like?

  6. i personally love the square button and the gold... makes them kinda pop. yay for s&s! anyone here have rachels in selvage? it seems like all the other rachels i've seen are non-selvage...the fit is definitely different.

I have the rachels in selvage - both the veggie wash and the synthetic indigo. I love them both. :)

  7. Another bit of news..

Basically the new run of S&S jeans has been altered in design a bit by the Self Edge crew..

The jeans will not have designed (triangle) yokes, they'll have a new improved circular top button (not a square button), and no more gold rivets, they'll be bar tacked at stress points.

I can't wait to get these in... Should be in about four weeks.

Sounds like all the best features will be gone. I'm glad I got mine when I did. I love the yoke, square button and the gold rivets. I'm interested to see what the new design will look like though.
