  1. i dont know where you party, but if the broads dont want their picture taken its almost certainly the wrong place

idk it's Vegas. i've seen girls do a lot of things that they wouldn't want photographed if they didn't want it to come back and bite them in the ass. also, an example: the Miss Nevada scandal.

  2. i am convinced my friend doesn't want me to hang out with her and her guy b/c she thinks i will flirt with him.

i am thinking this b/c she asked me how i am around our other friend and her guy....makes me sad.

    i AM a flirt, but i'm not a hoe. :(

i've had a few girls feel uncomfortable with me around their guys. it adds unnecessary tension to your friendship with her and if he catches wind of it, i'm sure it may cause problems with them too. talk to her about it. insecurity is unattractive anyway- you're doing her a favor.

  3. well you won't make it, but First Fridays are always good. there are art galleries etc. that go on. also, the bars/lounges downtown (aka Fremont) are always packed (even when it isn't First Friday). at least, that's where most of the locals hang. Brass Lounge is pretty good, so is the Griffen which is down the street. the Beauty Bar is next to the Griffen, and Downtown (the bar) is a little brick building on the corner off of the Griffen. also downtown, there's the Triple 7 Brewery. my best friend is a barback there- their beer is pretty good. there are the obvious clubs on the Strip like Pure, Light, the Bank, Tangerine, Revolution (which i have been meaning to go to. it's Beatles themed). i'm not much into the club scene though. Krave is a gay club, just so you know if anyone invites you there so you aren't caught off guard. off the strip is Cherry which is at the Red Rock Resort which is a fine little place imo. they have a great pool. so does Mandalay Bay. it's just a ways off from the city. for dining there's a good Italian one called Bautista's Hole in the Wall which was the first one here. very famous, and very good. if i remember correctly, wine is always served with their food. Chinois at Caesar's is also very good- it's French/Chinese fusion (a Wolfgang Puck restaurant). i heard Alize at the Palms is pretty good too. def. not cheap though.

as noted, Red Rock is on the western outskirts, and you can go hiking if you'd like. there is always Mt. Charleston which is about an hour west as well, and you can rent a cabin or just eat at the lodge.

as for shopping, Barneys has been open since January and is at the Palazzo which is "catty corner" from the Fashion Show Mall. Planet Hollywood formerly known as the Aladdin has a mall as well which is ok, i mainly go there for the 3 story Urban Outfitters and Ben Sherman. there are the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace which has a lot of "high-end" shopping there. you also run into celebs. there too (Elton John in Etro for example!). the Wynn has a Chanel and i think a Louis V. i find the Wynn kind of boring, but Bellagio has a Tiffany's and Hermes from what i remember. Mandalay Bay has another Urban Outfitters and has Suite 160, which is a decent shop for kicks (Nike's mainly). of the strip there's Undefeated on Paradise across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel. they have Visvims etc. if you're into that thing. the Premium Outlet Mall is downtown, and has def. gotten vamped up. there's also one down past the Strip down south but it's kind of boring. Also down south is our newest place called Town Square and they have a movie theater there as well. and the Yardhouse (read: BEER.).

jesus christ, if you have any other questions let me know.

  4. is it that hard to make the sk8 mid in fucking white on white?

not that hard. they made them a few years ago. in 2005-2006 when i worked for Vans we had them on clearance for like $9.99. i'm suprised they haven't brought them back yet.

  5. ...are there any that should definitely be read before the others in terms of timeline and story? I know a few of those are Elseworlds so they can be read whenever, but I'm nervous to dive right in and just start wherever.

the whole Batman thing gets weird but definitely read a Death in the Family before a Lonely Place of Dying. after that i couldn't tell you anything further, comic storylines drive me nuts. i would also recommend reading Identity Crisis, which isn't on that list because it's more of a JLA thing but it's a good read imo (you may want to read this AFTER you have read a Lonely Place of Dying due to previous character changes).

  6. Dark Knight is much much better

oh, don't get me wrong. it's going to be awesome. i've been waiting for this movie to drop since the first one hit theaters. after watching Iron Man though, i'm finding it hard to believe that there could be any movie that can compare in terms of a successful (and suprisingly good) blockbuster. it'll definitely hold it's own, but i don't want to be disappointed by a movie i've been waiting for (for years, it seems).

  7. really all the summer blockbuster season means to me is substance abuse: there will be only 1 to 3 (if i'm lucky) movies worth watching that don't require me to be a) trashed, B) baked, or c) all of the above in order to enjoy. i was already expecting the negative reaction to Indiana Jones, i mean- who didn't see that coming.

but i am looking forward to the Dark Knight and Pineapple Express. iffy on the Hulk. i love Edward Norton, but it just looks too serious for a summer blockbuster.

Iron Man has to be the standard for this year's summer movies. IMHO

i def. agree. Iron Man will definitely be the best blockbuster this year, and has raised the bar for my expectations from other movies this summer.

  8. no doubt working sales at a banana republic one christmas when I needed cash. fuck that shit, it was just 2 weeks BUT IT WAS 2 WEEKS OF HORROR

horror is a euphamism. retail during Christmas is nuts. i was a supervisor at Vans, which really wasn't my worse job (in fact, it was probably my favorite) but people/customers are just so pissed off during the holiday season, which is ironic i think.

  9. Big one:

My girl and I have been having a bit of a rough-patch lately, but it's mostly been down to stress (family-related for me, work for her). Things have been getting better the past month and a bit, except the past week which was a disaster. Anyways, last weekend my ex had invited me to go shopping with her in Toronto. I had told my girlfriend I didn't plan on going because we had plans for a concert later that evening, and a friend was coming from out of town, so I was planning on hanging with him. He was sick, so I decided that instead of being bored, I would go with the ex. I decided this after the gf was asleep, so I couldn't tell her of the changed plans.

Fast forward a week, we get into a major argument because she felt I had purposely mislead her so that I could see my ex. Absolutely untrue, but fair enough, I see it. There's been a douchey ex that has been constantly making advances on her, and sends her texts late at night. I've brought it up and it's always swept away as me being paranoid.

So... her job's draining, so I took care of her applications for school this year (she graduated from college and is looking at uni courses). I therefore have access to her email. There were some problems with it, so I had to do some things and email some schools. I logged in and saw an odd few emails. I looked into them... and it's comparing both of our ex's. In particular, how attractive she finds him (guido) and how she might just drop her current boyfriend for him. This has been after she's told me she could never, ever have a relationship with the guy...

    Oh Sufu, what to do?

confront her! i mean, seriously- level headed-ly of course. that's not cool. sure, you probably shouldn't have looked at these e-mails but your suspicions came to be justified. just be blunt: "do you want to be with me or that guido mother fucker" because at this point, you guys are just wasting each others' time. my sympathies :/

  10. There is no question in my mind that he is a rebound. I hope she has a great life. Fucking whore.
... "The world is wide and full of wonder." ...there is this thing called the Second Law of Thermodynamics that says that everything stops working sooner or later.

fuck her, she's previous level. find a new girl.

  11. Just watched The Orphanage and it was great. Other than Hellboy, I definitely enjoy anything Guillermo Del Toro is attached to.

Thus, I'm really looking forward to seeing The Hobbit, The Hobbit 2, and Doctor Strange.

i love Guillermo too, but i saw the first Hellboy and it was honestly one of the worst movies i have ever wasted 1-2 hours of my life on. i'm very hesitant to see Hellboy 2... at least, sober. can't wait for the Hobbits and Doctor Strange!

  12. When I first got into comics/graphic novels I thought Frank Miller was awesome, now I just find is writing really aggravating. He writes the same characters (brooding, dark souled men in gritty settings) over and over again.

i agree. i'm pretty tired of him. i mean, he's not bad, he just manufactures his characters off of the same mold. overrated. it gets real old real fast.

  13. assholes with umbrellas who think they're the only assholes with umbrellas. someone just clipped my face with their 12 foot fake burberry.

wow, and of all umbrellas it had to be a fake. that gets even more hate from me.

(also, as you'll notice, on cole mohr. he really pulls off glasses well, huh.)

wow, those are a nice find. did you want them to be of the thick plastic variety as Oliver Peoples (this is sad, i'm starting to sound like a sales rep) has a pair (Virgil C) but it looks like they're wire/metal and those are the only ones i've encountered that bare resemblance to the ones you posted.

  17. where to cop/more info?

Also, I'm still looking for some crazy big black frame geek/wayfarer kind of glasses, but still no luck.

the Nom de Guerre x Oliver Peoples frames are set to be released June/July '08 at Nom de Guerre stores only. they also have grey/offwhite pattern, tortoiseshell, and a translucent light grey. i want these pretty bad. i love Oliver Peoples.

why don't you buy some Wayfarers, and take them to an optometrist and have them replace the tinted lenses?

  18. i hope you like the smell of spaghetti because that's what it smells like up there. from what i heard there's a spaghetti sauce factory there. that or maybe the fact that it's the supposed garlic capital of the world may have something to do with it.
