  1. agreed, 53rd and 6th is overrated. people always point to that one because of the hype. the unknown regular halal stands are just as good if not better.

Perhaps becuase im in Long Island, I have a different opinion of 53/6, to me its one of the best carts, but i do agree with you, the ones that are in queens, bronx, w.e are really good, theyre just not in as prime a location

My friends go crazy with 53/6... they drive like 45 minutes almost 4-5 times in a given week to get a gyro... like i said i couldnt eat one of those everyday but the other carts, i very well could, and its nice to get to know the owners of the smaller carts, 53/6 is very chaotic... my friends actually stole 2 of the big bottles of white sauce one time lmaoooo

gotta give it up to the white sauce tho that stuff is amazing... ever try it with eggs? let me tell you... WOW...

  2. Jeans are off today.

    :[

Aww man no good bye pics? :(

regardless, I'm sure a good amount of wear was put into the jeans :D

Off to aho they go. Make this month interesting!

Def, can't wait to see whats in store :)

  3. 53rd and 6th gyro is retarded. there are so many other places in the city that taste the same. in fact, the one right across the street also on 53rd adn 6th is owned by the exact same people. go there. there is no one in line. the only reason people are at the one is because they see 500 people in line...

lol i said that already  honestly though no one beleives me when i tell them.. lmao

I dont think its retarded though.. and theres certainly a difference from 53rd/6th gyro platters and the run of the mill street platters.. atleast imho, the 53/6 platter is amazing but i couldnt eat one everyday... something about it... but the halal carts in queens i could eat a platter for lunch every day if i had to lol theyre great for the price, I usually eat one from the Halal cart on Union Turnpike in Queens, near St. John's University (I'm doing Pharmacy there)

  4. WOW those are looking very nice!

I'd love to join this contest, It would be my first (though certaintly not last!)

And if this is gonna happen around January-February that would work perfectly, I'll be studying abroad in Europe for my spring semester around that time, and I was gonna buy a new pair for that semester anyways

hope i can get in on this :) last time I was in Europe (Rome and Paris) I did TONS of walking, I'd love to see how a pair of these would turn out, can't wait to hear about this, Everything looks amazing so far!

  5. I'm considering buying another pair of SEXI04's, I have sz 34 right now but I have a feeling the waist is gonna stretch out more :-\

I'm just glad theres still a bunch of sz 32's left on Selfedge, If I can sell a few things, then I'd def pick up another pair for down the road

  6. The only thing i have now is my wallet really, was gonna do a brass knuckle but it gets kinda uncomfortable... and it doesnt really show what kind of a person I am in the fade... its not really me... although i think its looks cool, not on my jeans

  7. any and all movies based off of Nicholas Sparks novels

    A Walk to Remember

    The Notebook

    Message in a Bottle

Im such a sap, I love all his works, trying to read all his novels, my personal favorite though is The Wedding (I was bawling tears of joy in my bed when I finished that book :P )

Also, Bridge to Terabitiha was quite a tear jerker too

  8. h&m has em on sale.

theyre next to the flame resistant striped hoodies on the clearance rack, i think your gonna need to pick one of those up too

but y get a redmoon when u can get a custom wallet done redmoon style? 300% cheaper lol unless u have the money, by all means

Unlucky on SF and Corter on this site do great jobs, i cant speak for corters work personally but unlucky does great work, they both do really, look into them, support the artisans

  9. O also. if you walk up mott street from canal, there will be this little hole in the wall dumpling place called "tasty dumpling" right in front of this park

if you have a chance, i DEFINATELY reccomend this place, 5 huge pan fried pork dumplings for $1! they also have snapples and soda for a $1 too (I think the canned snappled is a $1.25 but still very cheap) an amazing meal for 3 bucks, 10 big dumplings and soda, cant beat that  douse with hot sauce and ur good to go

  10. at contextclothing.com they've got some imperials including Dukes my favorite for 1/2 off dude. $132 haha. about to pick up a pair when i get payed!

Ive heard alot of ppl are having trouble ordering, only by phone or something, i would pick up a pair too but ive got no more money to spare :(

  11. Got enough stuff hanging out of your pockets? Hahahaha.

lol just bought the wallet, belt, and keyholder from unlucky (on SF) customs, he does extremely great leather work, and very inexpensive compared to others, not to mention he has horsehide (as well as premium thick cowhide), this stuff is great! thinner than cowhide but seems to be much stronger :) cant wait to see the patina on my matching set haha

  12. For gyros, no doubt its the famous cart on 53d and 6th

There are 2 carts actually, one in front of the Hilton and the other across the street

dont follow the crowd... go to the one across the street... theres usually not as big of a line, and its the SAME EXACT food... the owner of the cart was so successful with his one, he opened another, if you dont believe theres a news article about it somewhere

The lamb platter is AMAZING... douse it with white sauce, and im gonna warn you about the hot sauce... its pretty fucken hot... but its amazing :D the chicken is good too but i love lamb so im partial to that not sure how much it is now havent had it in a while, i think 7 bucks with a drink or something? but yea... the cart opens 7-7:30 PM ish and is open till about 2 AM, great spot for late night hunger

Also for mexican food like quesadillas, tacos, and the like, theres a cart on Wooster street in soho, (near the corner of Prince and Wooster, near Stussy and Adidas)im not to sure if theyre still there tho, really good food, a bit exspensive, but fills you up while your shopping around

  13. you know your addicted when...

-if possible, you take your jeans off when you take a dump so it doesnt get crumpled (I dont do this in public bathroom, only at work cuz its a private bathroom, or anywhere elese with a private bathroom)

-Get into a fight with your friends about spending $200 on jeans, and finally win them over and get them to agree only a connoissuer of fine denim pants would spend that much to wear them everyday and get them as messed up as possible (get your moneys worth!!)

-Like Enojy said, when ur gf knows to give you time to take of your pants and still want to have sex after you fall down trying to get off a new pair of SEXI04s becuase the leghole is so small and the inseam is so damn long (true story... happened yesterday haha  )

-when you have denim pillow covers and a comforter (Tommy Hilfiger denim stuffs, got em on sale at macys awhile ago, non selvage/ not raw tho... feels extremely soft, super light denim, but i love it :D )

btw this is the best thread ever... i officially got only 2 hours of work/scanning done in a 7 hour work day, with periodic shuffling around of files and naming in the system, cuz 1) i was looking at denim on forums or on websites 2) Reading this whole thread and laffing your ass off and thanking God your boss wasnt here today so u could read this thread without having to stifle your laffter cuz your office is directly across for hers... :P and 3) going to the bathroom just to check out the fades on your jeans :) (i kill about an hour of time doing this about 2-3 times a day hahahaha)

  14. where in nassau county are you? i'm there, too.

Im In Valley Stream, first town out on the island bordering Queens, and I'm damn proud of it :D Even though the girls in V.S. seem to hold a reputation of being slutty.. im still damn proud! Snapple was invented here damnit! and its the largest incorporated village in America (im pretty sure... but dont neg rep me if I'm wrong lmao)

btw, i have 6 filipino friends and 5 of them's moms are nurses. the other has 2 doctor parents. just saying.

Hahaha im not suprised at all. if its not nursing, its somewhere else in the medical field more so than often.. OR if you've been on a cruise... yea... yall know what im talking about haha (My parents love making friends with alot of the Filipino crew on cruises, ,my family has eaten dinner in their quarters tons of time, good old chiken adobo and rice :D)

As for me, yea medicine too... but not nursing!!! Im doing St.John's University's 6 year PharmD program, trying to become a Pharmacist, yea... 6 years...:( but then again... 4 years of college is like leaving a party at 11, its just not right!:cool:

  15. Don't get me started on these Super Sweet 16 bastards. The first time I watched that show, I threw up all over the place. I have lived in government housing my entire life, and I have to work for everything I have. I just recently graduated, and found a pretty decent web design job (which I'm at right now). I plan on firstly paying off student loans, then saving up to take a vacation somewhere (I have never travelled further than Peterborough. If you're from Toronto, you will realize how sad that is). After that, all of my money (other than money spent on rent and bills) will be going towards moving out.

I obviously cannot hate people who are born into money. It isn't their fault, just like it isn't my fault I wasn't born into money. I also have limited experience with these people aswell. All I know is I hate the children on Super Sweet 16, but I hate the parents more for letting the children get like that (not to say I would turn down a $100k mercedes on my birthday).

I understand you want to spoil your kids, but sometimes you are killing them with kindness. If I am 16, have a $100k car, and get anything I want, what is my motivation in life? Especially considering how disrespectful these kids are to their parents.

I am working hard now so my children won't have to ever know what growing up in government housing is like. But at the same time, I'm not going to be handing them shit left, right and center. It is important to stay hungry in life, and earning what you get.

All of this aside, if I was born into money I wouldn't change it for the world, so I can't really judge people. I would rather earn the money though.

This man speaks the truth and i tottally agree with everything

that show is terrible... but i heard my friend say it was fake cuz his sister was called to be casted as a fake mom for a sweet 12 episode, so while some may b real others might be fake

never the less shows like that are so disgusting... Phyziks is right you should never be satified in life.. if you are satisfied then you are bound to fail.. always be hungry and never stop trying to attain perfect. becuase it is unreachable although the closer the better.

I myself come from a well off family, and i know this and know how fortunate and how lucky I am. id would say my family is upper middle class, and just being able to live in Nassau county NY alone is proof that your making good money (i think its the most exspensive county to live in, not sure if this is for NY or for the US). My dad came hear with no more than $100 and he told me his first night in NY he spent $75 of that on a leather jacket because he always wanted one. He worked his way up and was able to fly me my bro and my mom from the Philippines to the US (yes hes a nurse... i hate that stereotype for Filipinos that were all nurses but alot are, its good pay haha). My mom was from a poor family of 3 other siblings, all brothers, with my grandma and grandpa. she would tell me stories of how her mom would have to ask nighbors to borrow some money almost every week to put my uncle through seminary. she was saludictorian (second in her class if i have that wrong) and shes now an accountant, making a very good paycheck. together my parents prob make over 200Gs or more a year, and we still live a comfortable and pretty modest life imho. My dad in college was not the smartest one, but he knew how to study when he had to and becuase of that he was able to get his batchelors in nursing and bring my family over to the US. Im so happy i wasnt born into richs and wealth (but like most ppl on here agree with i wouldnt mind that) and because of that i know how much struggle there is to life. my childhood was much easier than my parents im sure of that, and i know how to be humble with what i have. I now attend St Johns University in Queens NY on 20Gs in scholarships and taking loans on everything else. I would hate to have my parents pay for my schooling becuase they have done everything else for me, and its the least i can do. Im proud of my parents and im so glad theyve been there for me all these years, and let me fight my own battles but know when to help bandage me up, or provide cover fire and air support when needed
