If you've never yoyoed before should you start with something cheaper or would you recommend buying something more expensive if you want to see results faster?
What would you guys recommend? I had a cheap plastic yoyo that I bought for like 35 bucks a few years back and I always seemed to have problems with it and never really learned anything.
If you're keen to spend some money then maybe a YYF Protostar or Northstar. Start out with a plastic of some sort as that way you won't care if you ding it.

Would love to see that fit with boots as for me it would complete the fit.

D&G sunglasses. On a positive note, it makes spotting douchebags easier.

he's been pretty unstoppable. his performance was pretty great at bac. i believe he's using the protostar? i haven't tried those but it seems to be praised as the best plastic ever.
Looks it. Definitely get one if you can as it makes a great daily carry.

What machines are you guys using? The boiler went in my Rancilio Silvia and has been quoted a fair bit to fix so I'm now on the lookout for a new machine..

Spent the day just kicking about taking photos, good fun. Last picture is a set of buildings that are being considered for demolition in favour for ultra-modern eye sores.

so i'm down to my final decision for my canon t1i and its either a...
ef 17-40mm f4 L and the 50mm f1.4
or the ef-s 17-55mm f2.8 IS
any thoughts?? each setup is going to run me about the same money, i'm just wondering (since i'm still shooting on a kit lens and don't know much in terms of results) whether there is any benefit to going with the first setup...i like the idea of having an L lens for longevity, and then a really fast prime for portraits / indoor stuff, so i'm leaning towards this...
Hmm, I shoot with a similar setup on FF except have a 50 1.4 and it works great. Are you a more wide angle shooter? If so I'd suggest the the Canon 10-22 or Sigma 12-24 with the 50 1.8. That way you have a nice ultra wide lens and the 50 to back you up for situations where you want a tighter crop. If you hate wide angle shit, ignore my advice. Either way, buying a Canon 10-22 (above shot at 12mm on a Canon 350D) will have good re-sale in the future if you decide to upgrade to a FF body.

Lack of motivation has killed my photog for the last few months but it seems the bug is back with early sunrise trips and hiking all day to get 'that' photo. I sometimes wonder if we're mad but it's worth it.

My favourite to camp with friends. Pity we have to share it with everyone now that Lonely Planet listed it as best travel destination for 09. This has been sitting in my archives since 2008 as the sky is shit. Shot at F.18 / 4 sec with 350D & 10-22. The two images were later stitched in PTGui and is not HDR.

Is anyone running in Nike free 5.0's? A few people have been telling me they're great but they look flimsy. Might just stick with my ASIC Kayano's.
