  1. What do you guys think about knives with serrated edges vs combo edges vs plain edges from a EDC perspective? Is a combo edge a jack of all trades but master at none?

depends on what you're gonna use it for. i guess serrated edges are good for cutting rope that's like 5 inches thick or something. but i'm a firm believer that a sharp plain edge with good steel can do nearly everything a serrated edge can. i only have plain edges.

  2. been using one of those chef's knife sword things.

yeah..you shouldn't use this anymore. you'll just end up screwing up your edge angle. it's probably pretty bad right now. i recommend a spyderco sharpmaker. it's around 50 bucks, and it works really well once you get the hang of it.

  3. alright...who got day 2. i literally went to go buy it not more than 30 seconds after the twitter update and i get this:

Sorry, “Day 2 - 2/100” couldn’t be added to your cart because the last one is currently being purchased by someone else

    haha. campers!

  4. i'm not sure. i'm not much of a coffee enthusiast, but i had this at Sugar Rush Cafe in Walnut, California. and it seriously changed the way i view coffee. i used to think Trung Nguyen coffee was good.

  5. kenthenoob what's your thoughts on the mini-barrage? I'd like to carry it in my front pocket so that kinda rules out the dejavoo.

what? how does that rule out the deja. i carry a deja in my front right pocket just fine.

these two are totally different knives.

    barrage

    -thumb stud

    -drop point

-assisted (can't close with one hand)

    -tip up

    -154cm (i think)

    -valox handles

    -axis lock

    deja

    -round hole

-slightly longer blade. 1/4 in longer

    -almost full flat grind

    -manual

    -tip down

    -s30v

    -g10 handles

    -liner lock

i use a 585 as a beater knife. my 745 is more of a gentleman's knife. although it could very well survive as a hard use knife.

  6. also, screw the bedlam. too big for EDC and so... how do i say.. useless? i find a lot of recurve blades to be mildly retarded to use when actually cutting anything. it's supposed to be awesome for killing though...

wut? a recurve blade is something like this:

where the balde curves in then out again. this creates more cutting edge for use. shortest distance between two points is a straight line concept
