  1. If you bought it from an Apple Store, I KNOW theres some stipulation where if you buy it within X Days/Weeks of a product update they'll hook you up.

You should go check it out.

yes, take back the imac now for an exchange.

  2. It can be done, it doesn't take special machines as much as it requires knowledge. However, if he doesn't have the right machines.... not sure what kind of stitching your Evisu's have, he can't do it either. You have to use a competent tailor. Anybody can fix the hems, but the waist adjustment will be more challenging. By the time you checked out a couple tailors, and paid for it, maybe you'll wish you bought new pants.

Your best option may be to visit Chuck's Vintage or Dr. Blue Jeans in Van Nuys. If you can't go there, you could ship your jeans. Just talk to the guys on the phone first and then right down and include with your jeans the measurements of the adjustments you want made.

yeah the chances of a local tailor having machines that make exact evisu stiching is probably not that great. also imo shipping out jeans to be altered sounds like a recipe for disaster since the op may not know exactly what areas need to be adjusted to what exact measurement for the right fit and how to properly denote this.\

    good luck either way

  3. You are asking for major alterations. Do not take these to a dry cleaners, typically they do not know much/if anything about altering jeans. Take them to a professional tailor and be amazed by the absurd cost of altering a waist and legs. Tailors seldom ever have the same exact heavy stiching machine that are used on jeans. So you will have the legs single stiched instead of the nice double stich (cross stich?) that your Evisu's currently have. Save yourself all of this trouble and cut your losses by selling your jeans and buying ones in your size.

I have done the exact thing that you are asking about and it was really a complete waste of money. Please feel free to pm me if you have any other questions.

  4. Thanks for the link, that site seems to offer a decent amount of variety but is also UK based and instead of showing sizes available after you pick out a color it just jumps to confirm an order (kind of a weird setup), I'm in the USA btw.

Also if my description of the style of shirt that I'm interested in wasn't very clear here is a link to pic showing a pocketless slim dress shirt.

    http://www.luisaviaroma.com/ecnew/Collections/SchedaProd.aspx?Outlet=False&CodStagione=46I&CodCollezione=06V&CodArticolo=128

Yes, I know that I won't be able to get exactly that shirt for a decent price, just something similar i.e. without pocket would be awesome.

  5. I have been currently scouring local men's wear stores and malls and have been having a ridiculously tough time finding a simple white (or black) dress shirt that does not have a front pocket. I have not found a single one in any size yet but I really need a youth(boys) size 18 so this probably makes things even more difficult. I like the sleeker look and would greatly appreciate help finding these.

I have previsously purchased men's neck size 14.5 dress shirts and those fit poorly even with speding nearly more money on tailoring then the cost of the shirt itself, and still the fit isn't as good as youth sized.

Please help, I previously also typed in search items like "pocketless dress shirt" etc. into google and on here and haven't had much luck.

    thanks

  6. The Lad Musician pants (Cocksucker Blues season) are perfect but I can't get them off their online shop yet. I am leaving to Europe for the wedding on August 28th.[/quote

all of the mid/high end fashion designers mentioned already are good choices but, if you do not want to order/cannot order online for different reasons then...

my solution is to go to any men's clothing store find a pair of pants that most pleases you as far as fit and cut goes and then have it altered professional to your needs. this will actually probably be less money and not as big of a risk given the time constraints. i find that in mens pants typically the problem is not with the waist being too too big its just that the legs tend to look sack/balloon like.

    good luck

  7. Do what sidneylo does very well and hot wash/dry the shirt before you wear it.

cool suggestion. honestly if i lived near one of the stores i would not be hesitant. i may still spring for a medium if one shows up on the supermarket. thanks

  8. OK, I am planning on doing some heavy video editing. I'll be getting the student discount on Final Cut & Avid Express Pro. Also, for school I've been told that I'll be using CS 2 or3 so I should max out the ram.

However I have a friend who does IT for his work and he's been hooking up his production department with just macbooks & maxing the ram. He's told me not to buy one without letting him help me. He's also suggested a refurb with the Apple Care plan.

So based on this, does anybody recommend pimping out a black Macbook, or just getting a refurbed 15" MBPro & upping the ram?

Also, I will be getting a separate display because I need the dual monitors for editing. Is this possible with either? I'm assuming it is, but want to be sure because if not I will definitely need a bigger screen. Thanks.

For serious video editing a macbook will not be sufficient. The graphics cards are too weak. Your best bet is a desktop but a mackbook pro will do much better than the macbook.

  9. wear it big, it is a skate brand.

i actually skate and i don't wear big clothes. i know that tight fitting is not really the typical appeal/style of supreme but that is what i like so i asked.

    thanks anyways.

  10. Quick supreme question here. I have read confilcting posts about whether supreme tee shirts are available in size Small. Are they just stocked once in a while? I would just really like one Miles Davis shirt in black size small if they even exist.

  11. average price around the Bay Area, CA is 30-40 for denim. If you have selvedge denim, then say goodbye to the pretty selvedge. Tapering jeans normally is done on the selvedge side of the denim. They basically pinch it off, sew it and cut off the excess material (selvedge).

yes on both of these accounts. however, one problem is that typically (yes i realize a few do) tailors do not have the same double stiching machines that factories use. so when you have the jeans tapered they will likely only be single stiched. also if you want the entire length of the jean altered/taken in to be tighter this will greatly increase the cost then otherwise just 5-7 inches of tapering at the bottom. the reason for this is that the tailor first must unstich everything that is already on the side of the jeans itself then restich.

  12. i will take a stab at this one. i do not live in nyc or any other city that actually has a strong sense or care for fashion. so compromise is a must. i like bits and pieces of high end fashion however, these are simply unattainable around here. unless i were to blindly buy some items which more then likely would not have the fit that i care for aka as tight as possible.

my solution. buy clothes that have the proper/similar style and color that you want and have them altered heavily into how you want them to fit. i hear/have read of people having even dior stuff altered to fit properly or better. so maybe saving a bit here and there is a good thing? i like dior too btw.

so i do not have any store recomendations but what i would recommend is find a good tailor that does not charge crazy money. i once saw this chick pay nearly $100 to have a skirt altered which likely only cost $30 in the first place. she basically got told because she did not get estimates first. so remember to go in bring your items and have an estimate made first. or else you may end up surprised/shocked/angered.

    good luck

  13. I have a pait of the chelseas and yes they run a little big on accound of having no padding. Id say get your typical size in cowboy boots.

yeah i guess the problem is that my typical size is 10.5 and only whole sizes like 10 and 11 are offered (it would be 9 and 10 since it uk sized but yeah you get the idea)

i may just have to pass on these since im fairly certain a straight up 10 will be too small. and if boots are too big there is little be done for comfort.

  14. Ugh...Its in the april 77 thread. They are london underground. Heres a link

    http://www.underground-england.co.uk/acatalog/info_UM_69_W_LEA.html

Try and search harder next time.

thank you. i seriously read through that thread looking for the information, it was pretty late though so i must have kept missing it. i tried, i swear. :)

    thanks again.

oh also does anyone have experience with this brand? the boots only come in whole sizes. do they run big? I typically wear a 10.5 in zip/dress/western boots.

  15. I have mostly given away old clothes to my friends and family. I keep everything mint and I was stoked to see that my cousin was wearing a pair of camo shorts that I had given him on the 4th. I gave him these shorts over 3 years ago and they still look dope/well cared for surprisingly. There are a few pairs of jeans that I will not wear to school/out that are still useable but I think that I will just thrash in them since I will probably will not get much love for diesel's here -_- on the supermarket.

I may sell a couple pair of nike's on the supermarket though.

  16. I did a search for "boots" "buckle" on each forum as well as checking yoox, bluebee, luisaviaroma, etc.

Where do you find these boots please?

    http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=15236&page=38&highlight=april77

The boots are the ones posted towards the bottom of the page, and the person is wearing april77 jeans.

I was guessing maybe they are Cloak brand but not sure. Even so does someone graciously have a link to where these can be purchased please.

    Thanks you
