  1. My cut isnt going as bad as I thought it would. The cardio is intense but Im getting used to leaving puddles of sweat in the gym now. down 5 pounds since I started 3 weeks ago. May be water weight, but its all good. Getting into the groove. Down to 185...

  2. Good luck man. The diet is the hardest part, but its mostly mental. You dont need a cheeseburger & when you wake up the next morning to workout you'll be happy you didnt, even happier when you check the scale. give it a month of 80% clean eating 20% cheating & you will stick to it.

  3. So my goal for bulking was to be up to 190 by march 1st. Weighed myself this morning & Im 188. My plan was to start my cut today, but I found out Im going home to New Orleans for Mardi Gras next week. So uhh need less to say the cut starts the day I get back. Happy I was very close to my ideal bulk weight & that I gained significant muscle & although some fat did come with it I can live with the small amount I did gain. ready for it to go though & for me to be nice & lean for the beach this Summer.

  4. First day of cut looming closer. I already started my longer runs outside again cause the weather is warmer. Dreading giving up snacking. Its cool though, Im ready to cut some of this mass down. When I decided to bulk I didnt quite anticipating getting as big as I did.

  5. I can't speak for all tattooed professionals but I'm an attorney at a large law firm and i'm tattooed chest to wrist, hip to ankle and considering starting a back piece. I don't go around sharing the fact that I'm heavily tattooed but a few co-workers have randomly found out that I am. I haven't had any issues at all but I also wear long sleeves all year round (including during the summer) at work and at client events. I think as long as you don't give them a reason to think you're unprofessional, they're not necessarily going to have that impression of you solely on the basis of your tattoos especially if they've known you (and your work product) for a while before they happen to find out about the ink.

Thanks allot for the input. I have decided to go ahead & do it, first I have to pick the right artist & decide exactly what I want to get. Excited about it.

i assume that you will wear long sleeve shirts and perhaps even a suit jacket to work if you are a lawyer. if that is the case then as long as you don't do any 'jobstoppers' i.e hands neck and face, there is no reason that anyone at your work would need to be any wiser.

here in new zealand is interesting because of the maori traditional full face moko, by law you are not allowed to discriminate against people you are potentially employing for having tattoos. doesn't mean that it doesn't happen [depends on the tattoo], but i have seen bank tellers and government workers with ta moko.

I can't comment on working in that type of environment with tattoo's but...

what is the difference if you get your arm's done before getting the job or after getting the job if they may only see your arms X months in the future. Either way they are going to see them eventually, so when you get the tattoo is irrelevant.

What is relevant is if they are going to care however I think if you work to your employer's standards and keep in line with your employer's dress policy, you should be fine. In all fairness, unless you go to a non formal gathering with coworkers they would probably never know. From all the Law and Order I have watched I don't recall them ever wearing short sleeved shirts so I say get the tattoo's.

Thanks for the imput guys. I think what it comes down to is not them being comfortable with my ink but whether Im comfortable or not. Youre right...they will never know I have tattoos when & if they hire me but there are several occasions where you see co workers without long sleeves. When it gets to that point I will already have the job & Im pretty sure I wont be fired for having tattoos, its just a matter of whether Im comfortable with them judging me or the stigma that comes along with anyone having tattoos. They could possible view it as childish or unprofessional. Yknow, the kind of stuff allot of uninformed people come to conclusions about people with tattoos. Its easy to say who cares what people think, but in this case interacting & having apositive relationship with my coworkers and bosses (who will be a little older & more conservative than myself) is essential. Once I figure this all out, I'll decide if I want them or not.

  7. Quick question here. I've had upper arm tatts since I was 18, that was 11 years ago. Im looking to get more ink & have really gotten the itch lately & have been bouncing around some ideas in my head. Looking maybe to go full sleeve at least on one arm. However, I have a question about employment. Im a new attorney (less than a year) currently working in personal injury, looking to make a big move very soon. My question is on a professional level has anyone had any problems being judged for their tattoos when trying to get a job?

I really want some new ink but not at the expense of not being able to get this new job that I really want. I realize that i will be wearing sleeves to the interview & suits while working but that doesn't mean that they will NEVER see me without sleeves on. Im thinking about waiting untill I (hopefully) get the job to make the move.

    Any thoughts?

  8. Yeah, just to be clear I dont do that eight for every single set usually the last set or the last 2, but I do get it up at least 12 - 15 times. Thanks for the advice I'll take it into consideration, been thinking about combining back & chest for a while...lower the reps add more weight.

  9. Critique on my plan?

Some background. I was about 250 (& a fat ass) about 2 years ago, last year I lost weight & got about to 160 using running and weightlifting. I maintained that for a while & decided to bulk. Since then Ive gained significant muscle weight & kept my body fat % relatively low. Im at 185 - 188 these days & plan to keep bulking until the Spring when I'll start my cut. Right now this is my workout split, that I have used for about 2 months in which I have seen significant gains. Basically Ive been going high rep heavy weight. I want to continue to grow so Im trying to see if anyone knows of any tweaks I can do to continue to get bigger. Im not trying to hit a wall here & I feel it getting easier.

My cardio is at least 3 miles on the treadmill every weekday & a longer run on Saturday although I havent made my long run in at least a month cause of the weather, I usually just change it out with another gym day. People have told me to stop running so much if I want to bulk, but I love to run, I compete in several races a year & it helps me to train, plus I have seen significant muscle gain while keeping my running routine.

    Monday & Thursday: Legs

    Squat: 5 sets 12 reps

    Deadlift: 3 sets 12 reps

Leg Curl: 5 sets 15 reps

Calf Push: 5 sets 20 reps

Decline Situp: 3 sets 12 reps

    Tuesday & Friday: Chest

Incline Bench: 5 sets 12 reps

Bench Press: 3 sets 15 reps

Decline Press: 3 sets 15 reps

Triceps Pushdown: 3 sets 15 reps

Weighted Bench Dip: 3 sets 15 reps

Wednesday & Saturday: Arms & Shoulders

Seated Shoulder Press: 4 sets 12 reps

Bent Over Row: 4 sets 12 reps

Barbell Shrug: 4 sets 12 reps

One Arm Dumbell Row: 3 sets 15 reps

Barbell Curl x Lying Triceps Extension (superset) 3 sets 15 reps

  11. ^ Once again...awesome pictures. Always makes me want to run.

In other news... Any Nike+ users really confused by this new Nike+ Active thing they have on the site now? Extremely non user friendly. The first day I signed up for itthey told me congratualtions on running the Brooklyn Bridge & posted it to my twitter & facebook. I live in Houston. Maybe they just need to get the kinks worked out?

  12. Awesome pictures. Ive been on a total of 1 trail run in my life & it was my first 5k run ever about 2 years ago. It was right after a hard rain the day before & I got filthy, loved every second of it. Dont get much trail running here in Houston, its very urban, very flat, no hills, no mountains. But there is allot of country running in TX just gotta make the trip. Looking forward to doing some more inspired by those pictures.
