Good to know. Luckily (or unluckily for my wallet) my hotel will be across the street from the Union Square shop... It'll be nice to see some LVC in person other than the 646 I have.

Not entirely germaine to the conversation, but I'm making a trip to San Francisco next week and am wondering if there is anything to stop for at the Levi's headquarters? Little museum? Shop? Or is it just offices?

Looks like a good fit on you. I have the same issue with the thighs, so it looks like the 009 is going to be the cut for me whenever I get around to needing new jeans (will be quite a while...).

Not LVC, but I figured some might be interested... This is a leisure jacket made by Levi's in the early 70's which I recently acquired.
I got one from Lee as well if any are interested, but it ended up being a size larger, and so may be returned if possible.

How much stretch can be expected with the broken twills? I have a pair that fits at the waist, but they're quite tight around the hips

My ALD Royal Darktones finally got their first wash after 5.5 months of wear. Here's the results:
I'm rather pleased with the results. This is actually the most contrast I've ever had on combs... Now I just need to get the crotch reinforced before continuing with them.

They're nothing compared to the 710s that have been posted recently, but here's my LHT collection which have hit 4 months and 11 months of wear respectively...

You have to consider that a 32" inseam is plenty for the vast majority of people, as most people aren't looking for "stacks".
Also, it's possible that's just what's on the site. I seem to recall seeing such things before, and the actual stores having a wider selection of inseams.

They look like a great fit, and I love the texture of those jeans. The XX is the standard since it's been around for a long time, is available for a lot of cuts, and is at a friendlier price point than the AI. If my wallet would allow for it, I'd likely have an AI, either from PBJ or Oni.

In looking through Samurai's models, the 4000 has caught my eye, but I cannot find any info other than Samurai's rather incomplete size chart. Does anyone have experience with these? How do they fit? How bootcut are they? How would they compare to any other cut that I can see a chart for on BiG?

I figured that I'd put up some pics of my 24oz-L Samurai's which are at about 3 months. They were washing around 1.5 months on account of an unfortunately incident with coffee and spoiled milk...
I wish I'd been able to wear them a bit harder, but mono is severely restricting to the physical activity... Color looks pretty accurate.

I think the jeans are hanging from the back loop, making the front lean far forward toward the camera.

Belts
in superdenim
I got a couple of belts in the mail a couple of days ago:
my full collection: ALD, Terry Dear, and two from Scott Willis with Damascus steel buckles
The thicknesses...
A nice touch inside the buckles:
I had the black made in addition to the natural one, just because I like the buckles so much that I wanted a black belt with one as well. It's thicker than the natural, but I've encountered some problems with that added thickness which Scott is nice enough to re-work for me.

I got this off of ebay a while back. It's been worn for a couple of hours before I decided that it was just a bit too small for me.
Asking $50 + shipping
Fitpic:
11oz lined denim with a fantastically soft corduroy collar.
Measures:
pit to pit: 21.5"
sleeve: 26.25"
back: 30"
Other pics:
PM me with questions or if interested.

I too feel that the slim guy should be featured more prominently. While I understand that people here seem to like the tapered fits, a straight cut has broader appeal.

Most jeans don't come in a 35. Samurai is something of an oddity that they do. Definitely sucks for those of us who would like a 35... Just have to mess with shrinkage/stretching.

^ thx!
it's size 34. that used to be TTS but now it's more sized down 0,5-1"
It's a fantastic fit from the looks of it. I was never sure what to do with the 3000 since they seemed like a great fit and I love the painted arcs, but with BiG not carrying them I had no idea what size I'd need. I guess that's some info to stock away for the next couple of years or until I just break down and buy another pair...

can´t rep you Paul, but those look killer!
how many washes did they have and did you give em an initial soak?
the two crinkles that rise up from the hollow of knee to the back pockets,
how did these develop??? never saw before!
I know I'm a bit late in answering this, but I didn't see it from anyone else...
Those creases can happen when the jeans have a little extra room in the theighs, and they fold when you sit on them. I have such a crease on one leg of my ALD Royal Darktones.

Well, fantastic then. Assuming I can get a silver-toned buckle, I'm good to go.

If it's 45 pounds for the belt with shipping, then that's not terrible... Any word on shipping costs? I'm likely in, and am also curious about buckle options...

im looking for a roll of nice selvage( doesn't have to be super rare hank dyed zimbabwe-cotton woven on a hand-carved wooden loom by a japanese hermit living atop mt. fuji) at least 5-6 feet long. i'll just assume its 29-30 inches wide. i would post this in the supermarket but more cats check here so im more than willing to take negative comments and -rep for this...the denim will be worth it. if you've got it PM me with a price...holla!
I haven't tried them, but here's a site to check out for selvage denim:

Looking to buy more Sammies in a 34 - 38 waist, any other fatties out there with some to sell drop me a PM.
If you can take a short inseam, I saw a pair of 38 5000BK on ebay for $70 or so. There's also a couple pairs of pre-lawsuit Oni from the same seller for about the same price.

how are you finding yours now mate? are you liking the fit??
I do like it, and I think it will be good, particularly when it gets colder and layers will be tucked in. I'm definitely not one to size down on my jeans, though. The fit is good, and I can't wait for it to get colder so I can wear them.

I just tried on everything at the store in San Francisco and found that the 33 was the closest fit to what I'd like, but I didn't think that the material was as nice as the other models. They didn't have the 201 there, however. So, how does the fit of the 201 compare to the 33?
