  1. I'd lean towards allowing people to make some alterations. I doubt that I'd make changes, but wouldn't want to stop others if they'd prefer. I know it likely wouldn't work for me in the contest, but taking in the knee to make more of a boot-cut might work for me... :) That' being said, I'm likely too chicken to do it.

  2. more shocked than disappointed currently with no call backs except from family & friends. i am either over-qualified or the current market doesn't feel like training new employees b/c I definitely meet the requirements.

My experience has been that if you don't know someone to get you the job, applying blindly won't do it. I applied places for months after graduating, but couldn't find a job anywhere until a friend from school who had interned at a firm recommended me to them. The only other way that I've found a job was through a recruiting agency.

My job hunting experience is also from six years ago, so I can only imagine what it is like since the economy took a virtually world-wide downturn.

  3. My undergrad was in business (dual degree accounting and finance) and it was incredibly unsatisfying work, both in the public and private sectors of accounting. Based on my experience, a business degree counts for very little. After a few years, I decided to change directions completely and am now taking my last class for a Psychology Ph.D., teaching, and working a fellowship.

  4. The general concensus for PBJ is that if they fit in the theigh, you'll be ok. There should be enough stretch in the waist to accomodate that, but PBJ tends to cut the theighs tighter than other brands, so if they fit there, you should be golden.

  5. To take it in another direction...

...when you love your $35 STFs so much that you don't even want another pair even though you have the money to blow.

yeah... I've got that problem too. I have a pair of STFs (regular blue) that are well worn in from the first contest on mynudies. I recently donated about 6 bags of clothing to charity. Even though they're about 3" too big in the waist now, they didn't find their way into one of those bags.
