OK...  It's been a great couple of years with these jeans.

Oni Secret Denim (18oz).  Heavy weight category.

These past two years haven't been as exciting for me as for some other contestants, so I don't have any pictures other than the jeans to show.

 

Here is what the jeans looked like when I first got them:

Being worn...  No one else to take the pictures for me...

 

Some details... First, the wear on the button.  I find it funny that the enamel wore off of the top, but none of the others.

 

And a few shots of the texture (rather unique material on the Onis):

 

I don't think that the material is going to take too much more before it starts tearing all over the place.

Jin denim is amazing. My first Samurai was an 0110 and they are amazingly soft and comfortable (when I'm slim enough to get into them) after about 18 months of wear.

So does this mean that I'll have to sign up for another forum for the final pictures? Or can I post them in this thread (or another on SuFu to be created)?

I wasn't sure if I should bother with posting an update since I have no other HWDC articles, but my jeans did just pass the 15 month mark and had their sixth wash.

For some reason the camera wouldn't focus very well.  Perhaps there was something odd going on with the lighting.

14 months in on my 18oz Onis.  They have had some very minor repairs at stress points around the crotch, but nothing major.  They have held up really well, and I'm happy with how they're turning out.

Thanks! I felt like they would be an outside choice for a contest like this, but I just love the slubby denim.

On another note, sorry for not having a music pic up. When I realized that the challenge was coming to an end, my jeans were already away for a crotch reinforcement, so I guess I'll be taking care of both challenges with the same post.

Hello all, it's been a while!  Things have been busy, but I finally have a little time to update on my Oni 18oz.  The flat pictures are from post-wash around 12.5 months (4th wash, I think), and the wearing pic is what they look like now around 13.5 months.  I'll be taking them for a crotch reinforcement before long as I'll be returning to a bike commute before long, and I can see it getting thinner day by day.

Very interesting. Living in the USA fairly knocks out #1, and renting an apartment fairly well knocks out #2. I've been meaning to start going to open mic nights, so perhaps being in a denim competition will push me to improve another area of my life...

This material definitely has a unique appearance texture.  They are at 10 months, and 3 washes at this point.  Just about ready for a 4th.

Not a major update, but I think this'll have to do for my entry.  One of the options was pictures for your country.  Last time I used up all of the monuments that I routinely see, so I'll revert to the changing of the seasons that would have worked for the prior entry.  It has been a long time coming, but spring has finally sprung in the DC area:

That's the boat that I'm in right now. I've been dealing with some medical things for the past couple of months which have left me exhausted and expanded the waist by almost 3 inches. Hopefully that'll be changing with a trip to the doctor coming this week. I haven't been able to wear the contest jeans for the past few days with the bloat.
