options
1. have the LFs tapered
2. go full custom
3. modify a pair -- take off patch pockets, sew in welt pockets
I'd probably choose #2, or just be happy with the slightly looser fit from LF.

My 634 pair at 6-7 months, just received an unplanned machine wash after a run-in with some carnitas on my stove... oops.

It's quite big, no size indicated but 27" armpit to armpit. Way too big for me at 5'6" / 155!
Happy to sell to one of y'all if it will fit.

Nice thrift find for $2, pretty sure it's an 81-LJ (probably later-ish, though I'm not sure what details to look for)
Unfortunately, has a big embroidered owl patch on the back, and that "Keep On Truckin'" one on the sleeve.
Way too big for me, will prob resell.

just an incredible shot and fit, wow
LVC 66501
Mister Freedom Road champ
those LVCs distressed or bought raw, or somewhere in-between? definitely not what most people on here wear, but i think they're awesome in this fit

no size below 30, there goes most of sufu
i'll play along here with some old stock department store jeans. no branding at all, but same basic shit as 80s wrangler/rustler/maverick stuff. fit pic tomorrow.
edit: keeping with this, definitely like the idea of making this into a sub-$30/whatever-you-want contest
but OP, if you wanna do rustler only, it's your call

i'd like those "hand dyed yamane" jeans if they were sixty bucks or so from j crew

Lots of people here seem to forget that one should consider "fit > pretty much everything"
so buy the goddam right fit in the first place, don't cook your schott jacket in a gumbo pot

double vintage belts
first has been in daily use for 2-3 years, second was picked up last week.

not super rare, it turns out, but i love the design.

So here's my mystery pre-war pair, tagged "521-M41702"
By far the loosest cut and widest hem of any jeans I own -- but a nice change-of-pace from always wearing slim-slim-slim stuff. Great detailing, too -- exposed rivets, old arcs, suspender buttons and cinchback.
I still don't really know anything about the model, though, so if you can give any insight... it'd be welcomed.

Cool pair of old-stock jeans I picked up, no brand but probably some department store's make from late 70s (?). Nice thick denim, 12-14 oz I'd guess, pretty even and smooth. Fits slim in the leg, high in the waist. No-name button on top of a YKK zipper fly. Non-selvage, of course.

Pocketbag:
Inner yoke, bartacks, and a handwritten "28"

off-topic, but i figure this might catch the eye of some portlanders:
