  1. isn't that the whole point of the thread though? accidental star or not? it's not like pulp, blur, elastica, suede weren't all fighting for the top spots. any and all publicity is better than none as case and point jarvis and the whole michael jackson ordeal. I'm not saying Oasis are the most important band of the last 30 years or whatever, they write decent catchy tunes (Oasis' columbia rivals that of Boys and Girls or Common People, regardless if you want to admit it or not), but they did have some merit. You can group all the heavy 90's hitters in the same category, but to put a band like the libertines in the same league as suede, pulp, oasis, and blur is to do all those bands a huge disservice.

well, im glad you understood that not as an attack on you. most times someone would.

anyways, i didnt group them within the same context as the aforementioned groups. i merely said that they were a much better, and far from mediocre band. personally, oasis aren't anything to write home about, but i'd rather hear about the libertines or babyshambles for the pure story telling. i feel like oasis missed the point and made their music too dumb and loud, while doherty & the gang wrote more from a place of observation, very much in the tradition of the kinks or Them. its apparently that british music is always self referential to its past, but i do not think in any way that doherty or his bands have fallen into fame accidentally. thats my take. he's far to smart and talented to be a fluke.

  2. I like his clothes, style, and how he owns it.
the guy does dress so fucking well. Great style

i like how you said that twice... within the span of a month

polyrock - what i've come to learn about oasis is how blantently lucky they got. everyone around england at the time when they came out thought they were shit, its only that because they got a damn good record deal that they blew up. blur thought they were shit, suede thought they were shit, pulp thought they were shit, elastica thought they were shit. there were few, if anyone around that thought they were any good when they came out. honestly its because their just a rehash of post-psychedelic hard rock from the late 60's, early 70's, just dressed up like a bunch of manchester bums and started going around yelling about how "all the other bands were shit" people started going to their shows because noel and liam were already infamous for fighting onstage, and it was entertaining. they lost the battle for britpop to "country house" but only went on to find relative success in the US because they were marketed as the forefront of what was going on in the UK music scene. no one in the UK music scene really had any love for them until 96 or 97 when they began to actually write songs. everything they've done is by the good graces of their record company, and their publicist. theres nothing spectacular about them and musically, their simple and trite. were from the moment they started. everything that liam did, the beatles and rolling stones did 25 years earlier, much better.

the libertines and babyshambles are a little more diverse in their sound, and luckily both carl barat and pete doherty can write a song. i can't say DPT are very good, but babyshambles are smartly produced and doherty writes great songs. the gallaghers have "wonderwall".

i bite my thump at you sir.

  3. Nope, it's just to get honeycombs, And even that in itself is unique, superdenim is extremely rare, you don't see many people even getting designer denim. So Something like homebrewed (If i may say the word) honeycombs is still uncommon.

    what is said "superdenim"

and how do you figure that many people don't buy designer denim when this is a forum dedicated to designer denim?

no offense, but there are things you should always do before posting on message boards. trust me, im pretty new here too, but you gotta know proper manners when you come to places like these. don't ask obvious questions, don't demand answers, don't infer that designer denim isn't common, etc. etc.

    just trying to help.

and btw, if the tags are still on the jeans... you can return them maybe? if so, get your money back, go to your local Bob's store, buy a pair of Levi's 501 Shrink-To-Fit jeans. these are the most common example of raw denim. They are classic straight cut, not too slim, and always in style. they'll usually run you between $30 and $50 depending on how overpriced bob's is getting. wear them for 6 months. do everything in them; the more blood, sweat, and tears the better. 6 months come and they don't look properly broken, wear them for another 6 months. and so on and so forth. if they get stanky, throw them in the tub, let them sit for 2 hours (depends on if you want them to shrink or not). they will soften up, you just keep wearing them. denim is as denim does, and you will be happier if you get denim that you know you control.

even before i knew i wore raw, i wore raw. i only wore 501's and lee's until i discovered the whole fashion about a year ago. its not a problem that you were not aware of it, the problem here is you failed to recognize essential information before you jumped to a conclusion. so do yourself a favor, either return, or resell those A&F jeans. go out to bob's, or if you wanna up the anti and be a little more "cutting edge" go to H&M and buy raw Sliq's (tighter, more taper than 501's, stretch out a lot). if you have the money, buy yourself some nudies, whatever you want. just get the facts before you go and do something like.. oh lets say this thread.

    welcome to superfuture :)

  4. I already posted this in the best youtube videos .....

    ten years ago:

    Quba72Xli8o

HAH! thats crazy. the height of britpop, and doherty is a young kid. priceless. whoda thunk that his band(s) would be lightyears more advanced and infinitely better than oasis. i wonder where carl was at this time.

  5. cool, well, im glad i know. i was gonna buy a pair of APC NC anyways, just looking for something to tide me over until i can go ahead and buy my APC's and my Dior's. i figure i might as well just get 2 pairs of 501 STF for the price.

  6. what the hell is this?

  8. wow, i just read through all of Shark's comments.

he actually sunk so low as to listing crimes black people have commited.

    Here's some little tidbits.

6,000,000 Jews Murdered by a white male.

12,000,000 Russians slaughtered by a white male.

The Majority of pedophiles, rapists and serial killers are white males.

Shark is actually as stupid as he was originally cracked up to be.

don't forget the 3,000,000+ other individuals killed by a white male in said holocaust

    i care cause im jewish.

  9. well what i've learned from this thread so far is -

    • OMC is smart, perceptive, racially sensitive, and goes to NYU (my brother is there, maybe you know him....? im not gonna give his name out, so if you wanan check PM or something.). He may occasionally dress like a clown, but its obvious that there is substance to the zebra printed pants.
    • Shark is a rascist and is playing of stereotypes due to his education/environment/upbringing/social status/and I'm sure there are plenty of other contributing factors. Though he does articulate himself well, and he far from your average retard rascist. No offense, I'm sure in conversation it would come off less like an insensitive and bigotted discussion, but in writing, you betray your true feelings on the issue of how you perceive young African Americans in our day and age. You may flame me for this, but your argument is moot because you show yourself for what you really are in every comment in this thread. Give up, and don't feel so bad, after all, its the internet.
    • TokenIndianKid loves Kush. Me, I'm a northeastern country boy, so best we get here is Sour diezel on a good day. More power to you, I'm not one to comment on anyone elses life ;) (sarcasm considering my former comments for all you that may misinterpret.)

    thats my 2 cents.

  10. my top 5 would have to be...:

Queens of the Stone Age - Self Titled

The Beatles - The White Album

    Blur - Parklife

Bloomfield, Cooper, Stills - Super Session

    T. Rex - Electric Warrior

Lightnin' Hopkins Lightnin'! should be on there, as should any of the other albums I own and love. Music is basically essential, and its hard to break it down to just 5.
