  1. There's a place in town that just specializes in beers, and while I'm not a fan of beer in general, they've got this awesome one for summer. Fruli is a belgian beer iirc, and it's strawberry-flavoured. The girlfriend got me to try it back on St. Pat's and I've been hooked since.

Anyways, mojitos and arnold palmers with some vodka are my summer drinks, and normally it's just disaronno and coke for me. Last summer was spent doing jaeger or vodka with red bull, and a lot of fireball.

Nothing beats serbian schlivovitz though... for getting to know your gag reflex.

  2. I was expecting a lot from this, after watching spaced and shaun of the dead, but I was pretty dissapointed with it. They seem to be chasing a more american style of humour in this movie, which I didnt think worked that well for them...

Still there were some very funny parts.

I dunno if it's because I haven't seen more than a single episode of Spaced, but I took the American style of humour as an intentional rip on how bad stuff like that was back a decade or so ago (Steven Segal, shit like that). The quick cuts and zooms just kinda added to it. I found it overall hilarious, but I will agree that certain parts were kinda weak (it started slow). But the over-the-topness of the final bit made up for it, I thought.

Seeing James Bond get his ass kicked is always good

  3. Been in uni for 2 years and still don't know wtf I'm going into. Only thing I got going for me is a steady job that I just might quit soon. Yeah wtf.

Me, but three years. Programming at YorkU, and it's killed my interest in school, so I'm actually dropping into Seneca's graphic design course in September to get some good grades on shit that actually interests me, then hopefully going back to YU/Sheridan for their Design course. I dunno... at least I didn't have to pay for this year, Sony did (heh, long story).

Needs me a summer job too, the one I used for the past two years had some massive lay-offs and won't be taking students back this year. Probably shouldn't have bought so much shit this year.

  4. no but seriously tho, these are sent by Allah herself to feed me and to feed you.

Damnit man, now I've gotta walk over to Sobey's and grab myself some. I'm still upset they discontinued the buttery waffle-shaped ones though, those were dangerous.

    Other than those things:

    oranges

    raspberries

miss vickies sea salt & malt vinegar

    doritos spicy nachos

    skittles (the purple bagged ones)

    spanish peanuts

triscuits and/or ritz with some cheese

    hot rods

  5. What, no Astons? Even their current lineup is gorgeous, though since they've been dropped by Ford I'm wondering how much money will be going into the next generation.

"Julian Red Cali". Size 30. A few months of wear, One hot soak.

"Dior Italian 19cm". Size 30. About one months wear. One hot soak. Hemmed.

"Cheap monday Regular". Size 30. Worn for 2 days? One wash. Piece of crap jeans.

That's just awesome man. A newcomer to the whole designer denim thing, and this just about answered all my questions. I've been looking at a few of those, actually. Plus, I'm roughly the same size as you so it's good to see an idea of what they'd look like. +rep for that.

  7. god you couldnt be any more right

good to see so much canada on there tho i guess

Yeah, talk about mixed feelings. Nice to see Canada taking so many spots, but I really don't see how most of our cities compare so favourably to places a whole lot more exciting around the world. Seriously, Ottawa?

  8. the spinto band (fantastic indie pop)

Came in to post that, so definitely seconded. Saw them open for We Are Scientists and Art Brut back in Toronto last year and they had me instantly.

Lots of good ones named in here, I noticed Wolf Parade on the first page. If you like them, definitely track down Sunset Rubdown. One of WP's member's side-project, just as good. Here's a few more I don't think I saw listed:

    Animal Collective

    Colour Revolt

    Cursive

    Diableros

    Fiery Furnaces

    Gomez

Great Lake Swimmers (very relaxed, though)

    Minus The Bear

    Neva Dinova

    Polyphonic Spree

    Stars
