Peep this dude Rez's shit as well: http://www.myspace.com/meisrez

    Rez - Between Places

    Rez - Sum/mer EP

Don't sleep on these tapes, they're fire.

  2. This ain't really on that 'dillastep' tip that most of y'all seem to be posting, but it doesn't really fit in the hip-hop thread:

    qA0CTDEggzs

Onra - High Hopes (Ft. Reggie B)

    His new album is ridiculous.

  3. Pete's grown on me a lot actally - he certainly was 'the foil' in the beginning but I think his character has changed quite a bit since the beginning. Also strikes me that they're writing him as less of a man-boy than they did in the beginning. I could easily see Pete solving some big issues finally at the new agency instead of causing them.

Has he changed all that much? Aside from some more cooperation with the staff, we saw from this season that his conflict with Don just shifted to Cosgrove and that he's still hangs on to bitter sentiments with Don. Though his shit with Kenny does seem to be reasonable.

I digress, his maturity does suggest that he'll be a good team player in the development of the new firm. We'll see what happens.

On another note, how did everybody feel about this season's incorporation of historical events? Prior to this season, I read an interview with Matt Weiner about the unlikelihood of addressing the Kennedy assassination. I think it worked well with that episode, however, and I'm glad that they didn't just ignore it altogether. It lifted the viewers' sights from Don and Betty's shit if even for a minute and it was pretty interesting to see how the show would depict people's reactions to his death.

  4. the shot of her on the bus makes me think it's all going to go to shit very quickly. wherein she will come running back to don.

On the plane? Agreed on the seemingly inevitable breakdown, don't know about it happening on the quick though. I think she'll start to realize what Don was saying about her childishness/immaturity and try to work at it for a bit.

I'm just tryin to say that the guy never changes. He got his job at Sterling-Cooper because of his father's involvement in the business, and now on the very first day of his part of the new company he happens to be faking sick. He's never been quite right with the rest of the people on the show, which is interesting to me.

All I'm saying is that we haven't seen the last of the problems with Pete Campbell.

That seems to be the point of having Pete in the show/cast. He's the essential foil of Don Draper. His character, to me, really makes the show a bit more realistic. We've all dealt with brown-nosers like trying to reach the top on the quick. Vincent's acting has been top-notch though.

And must I remind everyone of this gem:

    2m6saz4.jpg

But yeah, I'm sure the new company will see a problem or two arise out of his involvement. Doubtful of anything as significant as his attempt to fuck over Don, the company as a whole is sure to run into bigger things.

  5. Season finale was amazing. Going to have to agree with Sayword's bewilderment that people could think that it has been 'slow'. The surmounting cringe-worthy domestic issues and increasingly strained relationship between Betty and Don along with Don's own character development have corresponded well with the pace of the episodes. Although I wouldn't go as far as to say that this season has been flawless, it has indeed been an amazing one that really demonstrates the great writing and acting (cast chemistry is spectacular).

Curious to see how Betty's future is to pan out in the new season. Especially her new relationship keeping in mind her own glaring flaws and character decay.

  6. Hey revolver are you from UCR? If so, cool to see another sufu ucr member other than me and azn8oi. That UCR free ticket thing you have to have a UCR id to get into the door though. Still if you DO know a UCR student, they can get you tickets for 25 bucks.

    Yep, I go to UCR.

    MORE INFO:

I know some superfuture members dig Clipse and Girl Talk. Should be good.

  8. He utilizes both.

    Taken straight from Wikipedia:

"To assist in his alien guitar sounds, Morello chooses various effects pedals. During his tenure in RATM, he used a Dunlop Cry Baby, a Digitech WH-1 Whammy, a Boss DD-2 Digital Delay, a DOD EQ pedal (used to boost the volume during guitar solos), and an Ibanez DFL Flanger."

He was spot on with the guitar parts necessitating whammy pedal usage, but the delay was off and he seemed a bit frustrated at one point.

  9. Rage was fucking amazing. A bit rusty it seemed as Tom had some problems with the delay pedal on a song and the timing was off a bit at certain moments. The set was:

    Testify

    Bulls on Parade

    People of the Sun

    Bombtrack

    Bullet In the Head

    Know Your Enemy

    Down Rodeo

    Guerilla Radio

    Renegades of Funk

    Calm Like a Bomb

    Sleep Now In the Fire

    Wake Up

    ------------------------------

    Freedom

    Killing In the Name

They didn't play "No Shelter," made me a bit sad.

The Roots were fucking amazing also.
