  1. I very regularly have dreams where I am running from an invading army on the brink of war, or some variation. Just last night I had a dream about police ala Ann Frank searching through my dream house (as in my house in my dream, not some beautiful dwelling made of mostly glass sitting on a lagoon) for me and my companions.

I wish I could rep dum and Rob.

  2. I mean, what makes a bad GM (to answer my own question?). Is it someone who maintains a crappy state, or who misses opportunities. The Suns, The Bulls, and The Pistons in my opinion have missed more opportunities in the last decade than anyone else, but then you have teams like the Clippers and the Grizzlies who are consistently pathetic. Those three teams I mentioned have at least made the playoffs (The Pistons even won), but have also prevented themselves for achieving or retaining greatness.

  3. La Pallette is a pretty romantic place for French food. Not too expensive, and pretty good.

Note Bene is fancy, and delicious. "Contemporary Canadian" whatever that means. I got much better service there when I went with my dad than when I went with my girlfriend at the time, though. Not too expensive though, and if you can get your hands on a nice bottle of wine, no corkage after 9.

A lot of people are fans of Harbord Room, and it's got a cool vibe and descent food that I'd imagine you'd enjoy.

I've really wanted to go to Buca for a while, but it's a little more pricey, and I can't really recommend it since I haven't been there BUT everyone I know who gone has told me to go. For a cheaper, but still nice Italian option, Terroni on Adelaide has a really nice interior, though is a little noisy, and there are no reservations.

If you want a real panty dropper, take her for drinks before or after at the Park Hyatt's rooftop. It's a spectacular view, the drinks are justifiably expensivej so based on their strength and quality, and you just feel very cool being treated by the old school service. That's my not-so-secret way to impress a girl in Toronto.

  4. Teams that are definitely going to make the playoffs in the East:

Heat, Magic, Celts, Bucks, Bulls, Hawks, and probably the Bobcats. I don't see NY or NJ knocking any of these teams out of the running. So they'll be competing for the eighth spot against one another, as well with Philly and Toronto.

I don't see NJ being that much better than they were last year. I mean, have they really added enough pieces to win 30 more games? That's what it would take for them to make the playoffs. Philly is always meh. Ny will probably take it, though they'll still get swept by the Magic/Heat. They aren't that much better, and I wouldn't trust Amare to lead you very far. If the Knicks get Melo, well then things get interesting, that's for sure.

EDIT: I just remembered that the Bobcats just traded Diaw and Chandler to the Raps for Caulderon and Evans, so they are no longer guaranteed to make the playoffs imo.

  5. ^^ yea i do the same

but going over the border soon (on wheels)

what's the best way to bring nugs? was thinking a few bags + shampoo bottle or whatev.

If you want for the ride to NY, just munch some baked goods. If for when you are down there, I know someone who knows someone.

  6. As someone who works in a restaurant, my general rule is: Just don't be the last table. I guess I'd personally feel awkward if I were, and it obviously keeps the staff there later. But if there are other people there anyway, well then who cares?

  7. It's really better to understand it by neighborhood, because even then, it's kind of complicated. A friend of mine lives in assisted housing in the West Village with his mom, and they pay $800 a month, I think for a two bedroom tiny box. But their former neighbors across the street were Giselle and Tom, who I imagine paid quite a bit more, or would have if the didn't own, or whatever (too lazy to look up whether they owned or rented that place).

My friend lived in a fairly nice place in Chinatown in 2007/2008 that was two bedrooms and $1400 a month. The average cost a place in the East Village is like 3200, and that's where Sufu lives. I think Lan pays like $500 or something crazy.

People who live in Manhattan also just make more money. It's the financial capital of the world, after all.

  8. That's a little unfair. Odom would not have won 45 games in Toronto as our best player, ever. Look, I think Bosh has no heart, but he is a talented PF. Top 15, maybe top 20 if you are particularly critical. He still has room to grow a bit, especially if hanging with his buddies at the beach makes him a little tougher, especially on defense. He is the pussy version of Garnett. Similar skills on offense, cowardice on defense.

  9. Actually, they seem to be implying the former by saying the latter. The fact that you aren't settling down with them means that they clearly weren't the one to do that with, and moreover, my point stands that there are many others who could probably fill that same role if you only got out there and found them.

I do realize the practical implications of this. If you have been with someone for four years, you are thirty, and thinking about knocking her up when you find she has been sleeping with a party member from her WoW guild for gold or whatever, well that's a tough break, and screws up your life plan. However, if you are in your early twenties, and think that you are "in love" and "holy shit, this could be destiny" could, enjoy it in the moment, but after it falls apart, go "Phew! That was stupid, fun, and memorable" and then move onto the next.

  10. payback is childish. Be a gentleman and just accept the blow.

    Real talk.

And I'm negging the next dude who thinks he met "the one", unless he finishes the sentence with "of many". Because, ladies and gentlemen, that is the biggest crock of shit out there. There are plenty of people out there who can carry a conversation, be nice, and rub your genitals the right way. Just cause you found one of them doesn't mean there aren't others.

  11. I eat pizza everyday, dawg. And it's certified by the European Union.

I almost got played, because I didn't dance with this girl because I thought she was Clopek's, but it just turned out that they shared a haircut. So I got her number. Will awkwardly text her to meet me at the oakleaf glory hole soon.

  12. Does anyone have any reccommendations on a place to get a pair of jeans tappered now that Sydney's is closed? I remember people mentioning a place on King. I have the jungle cloth sugar canes from self edge but they are a little baggier than I thought.

I'm not disagreeing with NESK, but just so everyone knows, I'm pretty sure Sydney's alterations was just Studio Kim. At least, it was that way at some point.

  13. does anyone spend money among different hobbies/interest? or is it just jawns rule everything around me?

You should check out that part of supertalk called superculture. You may find some answers there.
