Shined up my semidress. Tried for a spit shine with a neutral wax paste.

What the hell? A button flew off? I think you would have been happier with a different cut, maybe 5000?
I don't know. S710s aren't normally that baggy for someone to have a tight waist on. Witts must have very slim legs. A looser fit like the S5000 may look worst. I wouldn't worry too much about the waist. My S710s stretched quickly enough.

Totally inspired by Chicken's Whites. Got these in the mail today.
Not as duckfooted as I thought they would be...
Rough workmanship though. Still, the cat's paws weren't something this place normally does, and the gouges are on the second layer of leather. It's underneath the boot, I'm not fussed.
I'm going to look into getting those waxed leather laces later this week.

How's many of the noobs going to know how black denim fades if 99% of the black denim on this forum is the S5000BK? Does anyone remember and/or have any evo pics of the PBJ005BK? I remember when everyone was crazy for these.
.. Not that I have anything against the S5000BK, I own a S5000VX. Just seems like those are the only black jeans around with any decent amount of wear.

I wonder why this thread has been dead for a while.
I was surfing through Hinoya and found this on the bottom of every page:
"Copyright (C) HINOYA CO.,LTD. 2002. All Rights Reserved.
Information on this site is for Japanese domestic market only."
Does this pretty much confirm that Hinoya no longer ships overseas, or has that been covered already?

Awesome boots, Greg. Now I know what I'm going to do when I wear out the vibrams on my AF64s.

I was at the Santa Cruz beach, and I had just put them on a rail to dry after soaking when, no joke, some random black guy swipes them right in front of my face and runs into a waiting car. I tried to chase but couldn't catch up. It still makes me mad and confused. I do want another pair, though. I miss the sweet smell.
What the heck?!?!?! It's not like a pair of Okis are like some kind of limited edition sneaker or something. Wow.

My first pair were Sugar Cane Okinawa's but they got stolen..
.
What the? How did they get stolen? And why didn't you buy another pair?

why A.P.Cs over Nudies?
APC > Nudie. For me, just because APC doesn't have those loud arcs. Then again, I like the Nudie cut better.

but it saddens me that the samurai thread has become the new APC thread :/
Time for a redux, me thinks. Just like the APC one. There's just too many different styles of Samurai jeans out there. The APC one is like 90% NS and 10% everything else. You'd think that more people would use the S5000 thread more often. I wonder if it's time to lock all of the Sam threads and just start over with a proper one. Most of the pics from the earlier pages are all offline now anyway.

That happened because there's stitching on the lining of the pocket to make that fade. I suppose you could do that with any jeans if you took off the pocket and stitched in your own lining with a pattern stitched into it.
An easier way would be to use some cotton twine and some fabric glue onto the inside of your pockets. I actually thought about doing that when I first heard about these inside arcs.

Well, I can confirm that the USAs are a size smaller than normal. The 34s fit very much like my 33 lot 10 S5000VX. They're in the closet while I work on my Denimes. Will be working on the pocket fade round June.

Finally got around to my Fullcount 105NA. Hemmed from 36 to 33in.
Original hem.
Comparo: Union Special vs. Funlock 009DCC.
Note the difference in stitch length.

We'll see... I haven't got my order of #18 needles yet (don't know if these needles will blow up my machine. It's a Bernina though. It's supposed to be tougher than the Janome coverlock), I've got the thread tension up to max and until I figure out how to sew through 12 layers of denim (felled seam folded 3 times), I still have to cheat a little to get the chain on (cut 3 layers off to make 9 layers). So not an authentic chainstitch yet. But I'm working on it.

I live in Sydney, Australia. Have you ever thought about direct online sales as well?

Will any online stores be carrying this? eg. Revolve, Context etc...

John, post soak measurements please? At least the waist and thigh. Thanks.

Any special reason as to why it's a "reverse 3", indigo junkie? Otherwise, that looks pretty nice.
I stitched arcs on it as a little 'fk you' to levis. But if anyone asks, it's a reverse 3. It also looks like the evisu gulls... a bit.

Added a little something to my XX-007. Anyone asks, they're not arcs, they're not gulls. It's just a reverse 3.

My 34s finally arrived. Put me down as no. 31 out of 33 people who's now satisfied. I did a bit of altering to them as well. Chain stitch to 33in and sewed on a red tab (just for the heck of it).
I'll be down for the Skys too... when they arrive. "No release date yet- " doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but once they're here, I'll definitely be up front ready to purchase.

my usa's came today, and there was a sticker with them that said, amongst other things, samurai overalls, washed and sanforized. furthermore the measurements matched the post-wash measurements from BiG... i thought these were unwashed?
I'm not worried about whether they are washed or unwashed, but if the pre-soak measurements is the same as the post soak measurments, I'm in trouble.

^ They look great, Greg! I always seem to use too much polish. But that's the only way I can get it to shine like I want to.
