  1. damn that lexdray bag looks sexy, anyone know a solution similar to that for half the price or a bit more?

Im looking for a backpack that will hold my D90 and MBP for my trip to asia. Want it so i can use it as a carry on to the plane, but also as a bag I can use during day trips... I took a look at the lowepro fastpack 250, but i didnt like how chunky it was when i was wearing it + the fact it looks like SHIT.

    any suggestions?

  2. 13 air = sd card slot, better screen ratio + better battery life, oh and 128gb instead of 64gb .

planning on grabbing a 13.. Kiya, is your air a 2gb or 4gb? Im wondering if 2gb will be good to run Lightroom since is the only computer intensive program I run on my laptop currently.

  3. got myself a pair of elephant WG's yesterday. great weight for the winter time in Canada. For reference, I tried one of their orginal WG's (the dark indigo one i think in 13 or 15oz weight), and i fit a 29" snug. However when i tried the elephant which are 19oz's i had trouble buttoning up the top 2 button. 30" however fit snug.

  4. i'm in the market for a road bike <700

there are some on bikesdirect but i'm wondering if there are any other options?

    trying to avoid used btw

Check out the Mercier Kilo TT. is on BD's and with some upgrade you can get a decent SS or fixie. I am planning on doing such build, upgrading the saddle, pedals, stem/bars to start..

Check out bikeforums Kilo tt thread, lots of info/pics for reference.

  5. heads up to any locals. Dutil got the old N&F 21oz slim guys got 40% off + 8.88$ discount.

i got a size 31, was fitting snug... any past owners know how much they will stretch / shrink..

mostly going back this week to get their dark indigo wierd guys.. they are on sale too

  6. Do what I do...only eat seafood and wholegrains/VEG/Fruits. No meat of any kind. No Fast Food. No soda. No Processed foods. I do have a fat day to myself though. Every sunday is Taco day (Cactus or Fish tacos of course).

i think is best to restrict seafood to 2 a week. Lots of fish especially salmon contain traces of mercury. so eating it straight up daily ain't the best idea IMO.

i usually go to costco, they got these big ass serlion steaks for under 2 dollars a portion, and i just freeze it up into 10 meals.

+ i always boil 5 eggs at night, so in the morning and for snack i can grab and go

  7. i need to go on a diet... im not getting fat but as you can see in the "what are you eating today" thread i got to start cutting those foods out... i dont eat like that for every meal...

my first step is cutting out soda and french fries. i love sandwiches so i gunna lean more towards that now. i workout everyday but im sure i would look way better if i didnt eat all that stuff.

anyone taking diet pills or blah blah blah for energy?

I'd avoid diet pills 100%. if your not fat, it is easy to lost weight just by removing high carb /sugar food = sandwiches, soda, candy.

if you live by urself, just go to the grocery store and limit yourself to vege/fruits and simple foods in your fridge. that way you cant have the temptation to grab a soda or a beer etc.

  8. key food to make you full/decrease caloric intake =

    Celery.

I'm on week 3 of my diet. So far with 3 days/week of weight training i've lost 5 pounds countered by small incrase in muscle mass.

Celery is great cause is empty calories, and the fiber in it makes you full. I usually eat it for lunch and dinner. Sometimes adding a bit of peanut butter for taste.

This is my staple diet , is been working out great, although is not the most healthy, it has still decreased my total caloric intake and has given me enough protein per day..

Breakfast= oatmeal with skim milk and blueberries + black coffee

Snack = banana, water, fruit mix

Lunch = chicken or steak, with mustard and celery (either raw or boiled) and random vegetable of the day

Snack 2= dark chocolate granola bar (yes is not the best, but gotta get some sugar and tasty thing in my body eh)

Pre-workout = microwave spaghetti (either though is higher in calories, one box contains 12g of protein) and a glass of milk.

Post workout= 2 egg white + half a piece of bread

Dinner= steak/chicken/fish, celery and a glass of wine or water

  9. I know nothing about bicycles. Where I live, everyone drives (SUVs at that). I'm moving to San Francisco and I won't be having a car for school next year since there is no parking. So, I was looking for a bike/parts that was relatively affordable. I'm looking for something light so I can carry is up and down flights of stair without so much strain, but at the same time durable. Also, someone told me it was cheaper to build your own as opposed to buying a whole bike pre-assembled.

    Please help. Thanks.

my friend moved to SF too. to save space/weight he got a Dahon foldable bike. it is pretty durable, and it was easy for him to carry up the stairs. (he weights like 130 and doesn't work out).

  10. Yo! I am interested in getting into photography and am looking at getting a SLR. what sort of entry level camera should i be looking at???

    Cheers

I would suggest you look for used setups especially on craigslist. I got my D70 through a dude that worked at an ad agency for dirt cheap in mint condition.

    I would look towards D5000, or Canon's T2i

Lens wise, if you want sharp, get a prime (50mm 1.8), but if you want more versatility, get a kit lens to play around with.

imo, any DSLR will do to begin with, it is rather to practice both using camera functions and using programs like Photoshop or Lightroom for touchup/edits.
